  1. There is a patch of land without grass or ore deposits but it is very small and I've kept clear of it for weeks. It didn't seem to impact respawns on the other side of my plot however, which is where my issues have occurred. I have cleared the cache but the areas mentioned in my OP (comprising roughly 1/5th of my land) are still barren of ore. I will attempt to smooth the ground that is barren when I get home later and report back. I am still working on the hypothesis that it was my selective harvesting of ores that has caused the respawning algorithm to malfunction. Respawning seems to occur when an area is harvested of most of its ore and/or when enough ore of different variety is harvested, but maintaining 50% of the ore on the ground appears to have triggered fewer respawns. Subsequently, this caused an excess of quartz and tier 2 ores which, on account of a lack of diversity in ore extraction, failed to trigger further respawns.
  2. I have been collecting surface ores for the past few days on Sanctuary. I had a surplus of quartz and tier 2 ores in storage and I required iron, aluminium and carbon primarily for industry, so I began collecting hematite, bauxite and coal exclusively, leaving everything else on the ground. It wasn't until today that I noticed there is very little of my target ore remaining, and in an attempt to encourage respawns I began to collect the other remaining ores. Occasionally a respawn will trigger but they are becoming rarer; so rare in fact that whole areas of my territory now have no ores in them and thus cannot seemingly be replenished. Before I started to selectively mine certain ores I had a verdant territory covered with every kind of ore and the respawns would always trigger. Have I inadvertently caused a death spiral of diminishing respawns? Anybody else have a similar issue? Is it even an issue, or an intended feature of the game?
