Having the same issue. The flattening tool and the mining on the surface isn't working for me. REALLY need to fix this. I can't even mine my way back into the node.

Long time player of Eve Online (From Beta days). I've been looking for another game to play that would hold my interest and I certainly found one. I signed up and after some advice on how to do things (press K and type in what you want) it became obvious this had some serious depth right off the bat. Learning curve was steep for the first week while I built my entire industry up. Then the second week I realized 1 of everything wasn't enough so I built more. 3rd week I discovered I need 4 of some things (metalworks...) etc. I HATED mining the first week but I got used to it. Wasn't so bad. All I'm looking to do now is to try out my space capable vehicle and go to another planet and mine and build my own little oasis then a space station then a death star and then live on it. I mean yeah totally PVE! ? Good to see the rest of you guys. Russell Stover
