  1. This has been done for the past decade and longer.

It's called Alpha and Beta testing, where users are invited either by paying to get in, or chosen out of random.

Many games then open a separate server generally referred to as a Public Testing Server/Realm. Here, players can test future additions to the game before it hits the live server, but anyone can join the PTS/PTR to help out.

If this is what you're talking about, then fret not because an Alpha/Beta test phase is in the works for Dual Universe. Unsure on the PTR/PTS however.

    you have na PTS/PTR server

i know i had to put a joke in it

  3. to help with the games let people buy the game or give testing keys away so people play and test and report bugs to help

a made this tings up called testing keys becuse a was board one night the key are temp keys but for how long you would like players to be on but it not timed it up to the devs whern to cut them off basic used to let people help out

  4. Please refrain from double-posting and *gasp* the fabled triple-posting. You can reply to multiple people within a single comment.

Unlike that comment, keeping this thread on-topic, I believe that what you are referring to as 'mod support' in the form of the Steam Workshop, is, in general, impossible. Generally the only hard in-game content players can contribute to an MMO is alliance and group logos. CCP Has recently stepped that up to allowing player-made video advertisements on in-game billboards.

To put it in perspective. You're asking for an MMO comparable, such as World of Warcraft or Eve Online, to accept player-made NPC models, textures, sounds, graphics and code. I can not even begin to explain why that is an impossibly bad idea, within the contents of this comment.

However, since DU is still in pre-alpha, the community can make great contribution in the form of input, creative or otherwise, to the Developers who, to my knowledge, frequent these forums.

coder? ok a was just trying to expain by steam workshop a gui look off it

  5. lets say you make a mod for this game and it ends up going into the game, are you willing to continue development for the next 15 years with out being paid for it? while you pay $15 a month to play the game yourself.

on top of the fact that this is a single shard mmo, which means every person that plays DU ever will play on the same server. this also means that every mod that would be made would also be forced on every player the game ever sees.

if you have some great ideas for the game or somethings you would like to see the ideas forum is the place to outline them. development is so early on this game at moment that its very possible that the really good ideas could very well make their way into the game.

so moral of the story, although i do love mods for games like space engineers or minecraft. they just have absolutely no place in an mmo setting.

a dont care about pay since i have an job

and it wont since you can remove add a no gun mod rule so and if they dont hvae hte mod more of a block with green and red texure

  6. Too busy? It's THEIR JOB to fix bugs in the game they've created. If they don't "have time" to do that, then they've failed as game developers

This topic should be called "TNT for he Server Support"

you guys are anti mod right

  7. Too busy? It's THEIR JOB to fix bugs in the game they've created. If they don't "have time" to do that, then they've failed as game developers

but they might need to fix something else that need a lot of work then who knows how much bugs will get via

  8. If there's a bug, report it to the devs, and it'll get fixed. No need to have players screwing around with the game, trying to fix the bug themselves

what about the little but annoying bugs or if the dev are too buys to fix or look at every littel report there is

  9. What about a console like in star trek? If it's not in the game, then it's just not in the game. Can't change that.

am trying o make a point ok like a game braking bug may be fixed before the devs or if they do have mouthy payments you dont what to miss out what the game can do

  10. No, you can;t. That's the point. LUA are meant to script ships, not make things up that are not in the game already. They use LUA for making precision firing patterns on ships, or pitch-perfect motions for factories.

allow lua but what about console like in star trek

  11. You clearly missed the memo. They allow players to build LUA scripts in-game, AS part of the gameplay. What you ask if you can sell LUA scripts for real money, which I don't think they support openly, as they have implamented an interpreter in the game already. If you mean by MOD add-ons to help a player out, they plan for pre-made widgets to be installed for your cockpit's dashboard that you cn customise, for the soldier to soldier fights on the ground there are no informations yet.

but you cant make blocks like warp nelisys or items like comm badge
