Quality system

In my opinion a far superior industry system would grant all the basic schematics for free upon training and add quality levels.  For example, if I train tier 5 of something I can craft basic tier 5 items but at a basic quality.

 

Schematics should be player made and sold. Lets say I invest my time training XL industry to tier 5 so instead of crafting a basic territory scanner that takes 15 minutes to complete a scan my skills allow me to craft one that completes in 10-12 minutes. Essentially a quality system that improves the item or schematic.  There could be different lines of training, for example a line that reduces the resource cost to craft or another that increases the stats of the item, or one that reduces the time to craft.

 

This will allow people to play the game and be self-sufficient but add a new dynamic to the economy, everyone will want the best schematics.

 

I would also add another layer of training, let’s say I want to specialize in crafting medium space engines. I complete the training to unlock it and move into a training line to increase it thrust. That skill has virtually unlimited trains and not limited to five.  Each time I complete a training I increase the max thrust of the engine, but the training time increases exponentially each time while the thrust increases get smaller and smaller.
