skill temporarily set to default

i have been talking to a builder and he says the one problem he has with building ships is that with his skills he can get his ship to go 1100 kph with his piloting skills but a new player who uses the same ship wont have the same skills the builder has that lets him go faster and has more aileron control so we come up with an idea that while ur building u could set ur piloting skills and any other that will effect stuff like that down to a temporary default beginner skill level until u either turn it off, come out of building mode or log off then all ur skills will be back to normal to help builders relate to new player base when building ships

Or, perhaps just set the talent level as a part of creating the blueprint.

However, as I understand if, you have someone who has higher talents than you do create the item from the BP, then the construct gets the benefit of their talent level.

That being that case, the current status may be a reflection of intent, as in working with others to get the best efficiency. Either way, if it is an easy addition, I'd support it. I always like more options.

problem with this is with the skill bonuses there are only bonuses for elements placed not for ur personal skills for like brake strength and stuff like efficiency skills that are only personal to you that will drastically change how a ship flys so a skilled longtime builder will be able to fly a ship so it works for him but for someone new it might not be able to fly the same unless u can do that skill temporary set to default

Not a dig at you, mate, but there's a reason for punctuation.

In the case of purchasing BPs, one should work with a ship designers whom they trust as far as track record of experience. If a designer takes into consideration the problem you describe, then that is a far better designer than one who ignores the effects of talents in ship performance.

As this game is intended to have a considerable shelf-life, the reputation of ship designers will become a thing, as it should, and therefore word of mouth will certainly let you know whether or not a particular design from a certain designer will be more worthwhile than not.

This would not be an immediate situation, of course, but will certainly begin to occur before full release.

how can a ship designer know the effects a new players lack of skills will have on the ship if its been month since hes been a new player himself and as for working with every person you sell a bp from that just would work for ships that are made to be mass sold being able to set skills to default would cut the need to do any of that and as for my punctuation i really couldn't care less if u think i need to use it or not i will type as i please my dude no digs intended

Numbers. It is simply a matter of math to run the numbers on what thrust to weight ratio will work from the standard.

Continue to type like a mess and you can expect less people to respond to you.

so instead of making a simple button that can set u in default mode u expect the builder or new player to do calculation on many different skills just to see if it will fly well and if people wont read my post because of some typing mess that is widely predominant when typing online then i feel sorry for them that they cant read without punctuation and of course that's your opinion i guess because I'm going to keep typing like it and its a suggestion for NQ to see mainly if people don't wanna talk about it then no loss to me

I have no idea what you wrote, because I didn't read it.

However, there are spreadsheets that exist that players can use as an assistant for building ships. The person using the one I am most familiar with can toggle their level of talents, or not. It is quite a simple tool to use and needs no additional programming from NQ to utilize.

So, after thinking it over, I withdraw my previous support of your suggestion. It isn't needed frankly, as players have already provided an answer, for free.
