Minigames for boring hours

I wondered if we will get games for pubs or similar in case we are a bit bored or just dont feel like being "constructive" in Dual Universe, will we get games like skat, poker, blackjack, dices, maybe a dual universe exclusive trading card game? :P

Or, because we talk about Dual Universe, will we be able to create our own tabletop and card games?^^

Hi Vylqun & Michael,

No mini-games are planned yet.

But I will transmit the idea to the team.

We are all for social interaction so in the essence, this idea goes in the right direction.

However we have to set priorities. As we have already an impressive amount of features to develop, if the idea is accepted, it will be most likely a stretch/optional goal for the crowdfunding campaign. And if the stretch goal is met, it will be most likely a feature implemented after the official release of the game. I will come back to you as soon as the team will have discussed the subject :)

Best regards,

Nyzaltar.

I love the idea, I'm actually imagining, there astroohil, some sort of Pac-man like game for the computers in a station or ship. Hehehe, hope the team decides to add the idea to the development list, even its crowdfounded or after release. Keep us updated Nyzaltar.

It's be pretty sweet to see gambling in the game, be it an intentional mechanic or player ingenuity utilizing existing mechaniics. We could set up legal casino-type areas, and players could set up illegal underground gambling with things like animal fights and such.

(Slightly off topic) I assume there be a wealth of flora and fauna? If there are, with animal trapping and naturally aggressive mobs, we could set up (like I mentioned above) animal fighting as a crude sort of gambling. If the animals differ between planets, that could create more varied (and interesting) fights. We could also set up gladiator tournaments for players and prisoners alike, betting on the winners.

Could be fun to have a chess or checkers board prop that we can place in our ships or other abodes, or just find them in Inns or other social hubs, then you can invite someone to play a game of chess or checkers.

Or something more imaginative lol. A space monster combat or battleship board!

I like mini games when they fit the lore of the universe and are 'part' of the universe. That being said, I can't imagine running out of 'normal' game stuff to do between harvesting (if we have to harvest materials), building/scripting/designing, fighting/pvp, running a guild or business or governing body. I personally don't think I will ever run out of work to do just in making spaceships/rovers/mech or even housing or get bored of it.

Yes I imagine this game will keep is extremely busy lol, some of us will have Empires to build!   Although I still think a nice little interactive prop board or something to put in our ships or houses will be a nice addition, anything that will mean we can interact inside our builds as much as outside of them.

Ahh...I can see where the mini game being attached to the actual game can be more immersive. Kinda like the holo game in the millenium falcon. This would help make the build feel more immersive and alive which I am all for.

Speaking of...I need to go make a new post on one of the most immersive elements needed in any game.

Just a random thought : what prevents people to build mini-games? :)

Scale.

In Space Engineers people have designed everything from mini golf to cart racing to Tetris and Space Invaders, but it's all gigantic and far too expensive for anyone to incorporate within a survival mode space station. In Dual Universe everything is in survival mode. If they want to allow us to build our own mini-games, we are going to need some really small voxels.
