QUESTION: Where is the new Idea and Suggestions Sub Forum?

As the existing "Idea Box" sub forum is closed now for new and useful suggestions, the question comes up where we can place now our useful ideas. Does anyone know? Has anything been mentioned by the developers? Or have he developers aborted now the development of DU for whatever reasons?

The announcement that outlined the recent forum changes, recommended submitting suggestions/feedback on existing features directly to the dedicated forum thread where said feature was introduced. As for new ideas, NQ mentioned that the existing list is already quite long so the idea box will be reopened later on when the development team needs more material. Here is the relevant excerpt for additional context.

The "Idea Box" forum section will be closed soon as well: we thank you for all your input and ideas you have shared with us. However, right now, we already have a (very) long list of things that we want to add to the game. It doesn’t make much sense to ask for more suggestions and keep this section open for now, as we won’t be able to allocate much time for new ideas in the near future and may give the feeling that the team doesn’t listen to the Community. So we prefer to close it at the moment, and reopen it later when the developer team will have some bandwidth to take into consideration new ideas. You’re still more than welcome to share your feedback and suggestions on what to improve among the already existing features in the game in the thread dedicated to specific features!

Probably development has not halted but frankly, the old ideas section was also only for players as none of the proposals ever made it to the game. Illusion of listening is a great good

Just like their survey about what features to implement was never actually real...sometimes NQ has put effort forward to collect ideas or feedback, but then they get mad about the feedback they do get and shut it all down.

Frankly...I'm not convinced development on DU will continue in any meaningful way.

Their CEO is at a metaverse conference right now talking about other products NQ has been working on...let's not pretend DU is doing oh so well that NQ's higher ups are "all in". NQ might have issues....but even they surely see that this product is deeply flawed to the point where more dev won't make a difference.

There's very, very, very little chance they can fix in the next 3-4 months what took them 8+ years to break.

Why should they continue development of DU?! What's in it for them?

The chance they can save DU through development changes alone is so abysmally low it's hard to argue it's worth the development cost. The opportunity to fix DU through development alone came and went years ago.

I wouldn't be shocked if an announcement comes sometime after the CEO is done trying to hawk whatever scammy metaverse / web3 project they have been cooking up (e.g. "3d blogging stack") and are only keeping DU online until they can sink their hooks into some desperate vestige of business opportunity elsewhere.

I, too, believe that many of the changes to the game rather reduced its player base (though not all decisions were bad for the gameplay experience), and that DU will be halted by around middle of next year. UNLESS the developers or their management implement a new policy, not to make DU thee way they want it to be, but how the players want it to be (or remain). If they are able and willing to undo those decisions that had a negative impact, the game could continue and even gain again in the amount of players.

Heck, I don't even understand, why NQ persists of these bad changes despite seeing the very negative impact of those decisions. What are the reasons behind keeping those bad decisions and reducing the player base? That is what interests me most.

I think actual plan is: once they have their metaverse bs (whatever it is) rolling, they will merge DU into it, using local builders as sort of advertising machine for whole thing.

So, while DU obviously (at this point) non viable as stand-alone MMO, its still very useful asset to incoporate to any metaverse scheme to boost it credability as something working. Like look at all stuff we have, and its proven by time, blablabla, vibrant community, blablabla...

Eventually we likely see some abomination frankenstein of what left of DU, attempt to go Second Life again + some of this google maps selling metaverses scam. 3 in 1.
