Just because you can attack people in the pvp zone doesn’t mean you should in all cases. Just because I can gouge players on the markets doesn’t mean I should. If you stop and think for a second what the impact of your actions are on other players it should become obvious that some actions are detrimental to the health of the game and community. If we truly want the game and community to grow perhaps we should aim to create a healthy and vibrant community that new players are drawn to. Harassing other players and being childish, anti-social, or borderline sadistic because the game mechanics allow this to happen doesn’t make it okay. Even if it has become normalized.

Think about the long term effects of how you play the game and ask yourself: what if every player behaved the same way that I do? What kind of game would that be? And if the result is a healthy and positive experience then perhaps it’s a good way to play the game.

If you look at all of that from the complete opposite side of the spectrum though you will see how much is added to the game, the community, and the overall feel. The real issue in the thought youre attempting to induce is this... the world isnt all cushy and pathetic. But somehow everyone on the planet manages to exists from day to day, while going to sleep at night in the same overall condition they woke up in. That because in reality we are smart enough to adjust our actions to appropriately survive along side everyone else, in one manner or another.

DU should be no different. The vast majority of people would walk through the ghetto with hundred dollar bills poking out all over the place to be seen. Many more WOULDNT have a problem if all that money was secured/hidden. Even more would feel little stress if they too had armed protection. All that SHOULD be common sense! Unfortunately, too many fools left that bundle of brain cells on the vaginal wall on departure. Their only solution then is to throw a tantrum because they weren't smart enough to ensure all those big bills are out for the world to see! The intelligent action would to no venture into the unknown, unsafe, reaches of space without an intelligent degree of protection. Each person has to make the decision of what that level might look like. But at the end of the day, the results of the mission are very heavily dependent on the quality of those decisions.

At the same time, new people would probably benefit from far better guidance. But at the end of the day, this is a PVP game with a sliver cut out for newbs in the form of a safe zone. Don't want to risk death, don't make a stupid decision by hanging your worth out for the taking.

My issue is with the BS way NQ deals with things....
People get banned for killing people in PVP space. Thats nothing but ignorance at its most pure
People being allowed to render the game unplayable through the deployment of any of the dozens of CPU murdering exploits, but banning the guy that was the target for returning the favor.

Its all a bunch of childish BS

We just ask for content when PVE players just ask for block even more our only avaible one.

It's sandbox content - create your own content as a PvP player. Instead, a lot of PvP players have joined the same alliance, destroying their own content. If everyone is on the same side, who is left to make war except those who happen to be traveling through space as hauwlers to save a few warp cells?
Would it help if the largest alliance of PvPers simply split up? Already there would be two factions having fun shooting each other down.

Problem related to PVP AND PVE groups. And actually we don't ask to delete all SZ or being able to kill each player who use warp or on an outer planet. We just ask for content when PVE players just ask for block even more our only avaible one.

I have no idea how you came to this opinion as it is absolutely incorrect in pretty much any possible way.

Where does anyone ask for NQ to " block even more our only avaible one"

There is many PVP players who frequently bring up the "remove the SZ so we can pewpew more", the changes made to warp over time mostly were because of "complaints" from the PVP playerbase.

This thread is begging to be locked...if grown adults can't handle being reasonably polite, I think NQ should change the forum rules.

Every thread of any length becomes some argument about PvP or a wipe, anyway...with predictable (and endlessly repeated) outcomes.

Allow replies to developer posts, but eliminate the ability to make new topics...at least in this "general discussion" area. 🤷‍♂️

No one has anything new to say about PvP that hasn't been said in the last 6 years of history here. People have been arguing since the day PvP was announced as a concept. All that's left is complaints and insults.

I'm surprised NQ has let this forum continue for as long as it has. It's an extra burden of moderation they don't really need.

In my opinion limiting the player ability to create general posts is too extreme. There are several reasons why these topics are highly debated but it mostly comes down to player insecurities about the future direction of DU development. These kinds of concerns are always going to exist and there is no getting around that. Ideally there would be a single thread dedicated to each of the "hot" topics where players can discuss it and provide ongoing feedback. The issue here is that some people get too passionate and the discussion quickly deteriorates. To alleviate this, I would instead suggest a one hour delay between postings by the same player. This would allow people more time to cool-off and also incentivize more detailed (and thereby more constructive) responses.

Obviously this is still not an ideal solution but it might be worth a try as a quick band-aid fix until we get further along in development.

@xoxWildcardxox

Public shaming is forbidden by the forum rules.
If some player have done some reprehensible things to you and breach some basic rules, you have to contact the Customer Support by writing a ticket or reach out a Community Manager in private, just like @Msoul said. We can understand the frustration of such situation. However it's not because another has broken some rules and did some wrong that you're now allowed to break some yourself in return.

@SMooreace

Refering to a group of players as "pathetic basement dwellers" or similar expressions is not okay, just as it is not okay to call a group of players as "filthy carebears" or similar expressions. Both PvP and Non-PvP players are supposed to respect this simple rule of remaining polite on the forum. If it's beyond your strength, don't participate at all in this kind of topics.

Also before accusing NQ of banning people in a partial way, here's also a reminder of how things work here:
- If a player uses a bug exploit, don't do the same, just report him/her to Customer Support or a Community Manager. That's the only way to respond appropriately.
- If you start using the same bug exploit to make justice yourself, then you are as guilty as the first offender and should accept the risk that you might be banned. And yes, sometimes, it may happen that the first offender may not have been caught either because he hasn't been reported properly, or because insufficient info have been brought to our attention. This situation may happen, despite the Novaquark team trying his best to assign sanctions in an impartial way. That's why the only solution to be on the safe side is the first approach mentioned above, and not fall in the mindset "xxxxx did something wrong, so it's fair I will do the same in return, without being sanctioned". That's not how things work and will never be.

As this topic has no constructive purpose, and only inciting to personal attacks, it will now be closed.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,
Nyzaltar
