I.e. we need tools from NQ that allows us to make interesting content, do more then just cosmetic/UI stuff with scripts, make proper custom missions, host markets etc.

Sure, i was being sarcastic..

In the end we need a ton of NQ sponsored content.

In my head, NQ could make player competitions for interesting content and then populate the world with copies of that content.

But that would require some concepts to be introduced:

Loot and loot boxes

Lua controled avatars

Creative mode with dev level tools

Then again this leads to AvA, NPCs and dungeons.

Q: can you go more into detail regarding the voxel chunk complexity limitation?

the mechanic seems to be erratic and not transparent.

Q2: also please explain the technical background, when ships are wireframed by the mesh server why do we need that complexity limit?

SINCE YOU ARE SHOVING MOST BUILDERS & CASUALS BACK TO SANCT... can we please have the ability to pull/place down again our sanct territory unit for better views, and neighbors we like?

Also can you make every tile on sanct have 200L of every T1 ore please?

Could not like this post enough times!

Sanctuary tiles should have an even amount of all ores so builders can retreat there and avoid the territory tax tedium that is demeter.

Its a "player made content" game.

If you need aliens, ask them for alien skins so we can all role-playing as aliens.

At the moment it's more of a sandbox with 2-3 shapes for playing and building. However, the rules say how big you can build and how much of the sandbox you can use, as well as how deep you can dig.
Also, the rules say that you have to spend a certain amount of time playing exactly what the sandbox owner wants in order to pay taxes. So, before you can build what you want, first earn the right to build things and then, earn the right to keep those things. Unless you stay in your little corner in the sandbox, which is precisely marked and only offers a playground to play in.

Since NQ is pioneering the technology behind Dualuniverse for the Metaverse, will there still be a DualUniverse as a game after successful marketing or was it used purely as a marketing purpose and showcase for the technology?
Beyond that, are there any plans for how long DualUniverse will be available to players?

Q1: What does this do? (See attached) I've seen so many theories on Discord, but no confirmation from anyone in blue. Is this for the minigame surface ore spawn, or for the mining unit production rate, or some other thing?

Q2: Can you please provide the math used to determine the production rate as a tooltip/hover-over/something? The interface leaves more questions than answers.

Q3: Since Mining Unit charges are linked to a character, not a machine, can you please provide a way to find out how many charges you have, and when you'll have the next one, without having to go find a mining unit to click on?

Thank you,

Tional

Question 01:
Is it possible to take the gambling factor out of the mining unit system? It is always a risk factor that you cannot influence and for some areas it is then a question of the profitability of ores and taxes.

Question02:
Is it possible to enable all skill points of the MiningUnits via VR. Again, it is a nonsensical calculation if you have to fly your fields and thus spend a lot of time and fuel to calibrate these MiningUnits to get an economic return.

Question03:
At the moment a lot of Quanta is taken out of the game by taxes, at the same time the VR restriction on missions prevented Quanta from coming into the game in sufficient quantity. Is this really the way it is meant to be?

Question04:
It seems to discourage a lot of players from logging in to pay their taxes. Frustration has arisen among many players, some are moving back to Sanctuary and some are simply leaving the game and cancelling their subscriptions. Wouldn't it be enough if the headquarters (HQ) could also be exempt from tax and at the same time be used for industries? This would certainly make a positive difference for many players.

It is this lack of creativity from NQ that is frustrating.

For example what if there was a Quest Territory Units which would be a TCU that grants the owner more functionality like LUA ect. within the tile. Functionality that would not work in general because of exploits possibilities etc. This would allow players to make and script their own (real) game content within the quest tile.

Why do you still have the nebula when vast majority say it looks terrible, and is so cartoony.  Everyone in alpha loved the old skybox.  Should stick with that but then work on your actual lighting problems, not some blanket greenish hue all over my screen.

images from a crazy engineered telescope are not the same as your naked eye on the moon.  Oh, you are telling me you arent smart enough to understand the difference between looking at something with the naked eye and thru a telescope?  Do you think everyone in DU running around with a telescope.....LOL

When will nebulae be introduced into the space section so that the space doesn't look so empty.

Couldn't this have been introduced with Demeter, when you're already forcing players into space through taxes and Asteroids?

Those are LONG EXPOSURE photographs, mostly made with Hubble Palette (which BTW is not how they really look like, the hubble palette uses false colors).
To get faint nebulae and galaxies to be visible like in those photos you need to do long exposure photography (I usually do 4 x 4 hours) in order to gather enough light to actually be able to SEE anything.
With your naked eye all you would see is BLACKNESS.

The nebula has nothing to with realism or decoration.

The nebula was added to create some contrast between the dark part of space stations and the darkness of space.

To solve the issue of players colliding against stations because they could not see them.

Also, being smart has nothing to do with recognizing enhanced telescope images. You need knowledge and experience to do that.

If you dont know that most of the picture details in Hubble pictures were not captured using visible light, but instead, infrared, how can you understand how those images were "changed" so we could see colors we usually cant see.

Also, if you are in the middle of a dense (light blocking levels) gas nebula, you will see the nebula it self being illuminated instead of far away stars.

And it looks like trash.  And that view is held by MANY people. Im also not talking about realism.  Im talking about what looks good, and what "feels immersive" and the old sky box looked amazing.  As many people here have stated.  And the problems of people running into stuff were over stated.  Also, if you wanna go that route lets look at what NQ has said about all those COOL SPACE ELEVATORS people would run into.  Use a radar NQ said.  So use a radar if u are running into a space station.   So now that we got that all cleared out, its time for them to remove the nebula.

Its not up to you to decide this.

Many players feel that the nebula does its job and preventing collisions.

Also, i agree there should be a OPTION in the config menu to change it back to black.

But im 100% against just removing it.

it doesnt prevent collisions though.  I never collided with stuff all through alpha.  Thats a cop out.  You use your radar when flying at any meaningful speed.  So once again you argument is null and void.

It does not matter what you do and how you play the game. The world does not rotate around you, your game play and your tastes.......

It does prevent colisions.

It prevents colisions on ppl that cannot afford a radar or dont know how to use it (new players)

It shows the size and shape of a space station, preventing colisions on aproach.

wrong it doesn't.  You act like the old skybox was pitch black, it was not.  Im guessing you didnt play during alpha 1 or 2.
