The State of AGG

The proliferation of structures jutting into the sky over the last year made me question the current AGG mechanics. As time goes on, if mechanics remain unchanged, it seems the problem will only get worse. Artificial limits on build height may be a solution, but I think there is a simpler solution. Instead of AGGs only working beginning at 1000m, allow the AGGs to work at any height, but base the velocity on the gravity at the ship's current altitude. That means people will use it on Alioth, but it will be slower since it is the highest gravity at the moment, and it will be stronger to use in less safe space, but the risk will still be there. More importantly, people will no longer have to build AGG platforms all over the surface of planets. Finally, if people building platforms everywhere remains a concern, you could make AGGs only work if they are turned on within x meters of the ground. Whether that value is 10m,50,or 100m would need to be tested, but just about any value lower than the current 1000m absolute altitude is preferable.

I agree with the idea, but it wont entirely solve the issue of having to dodge poles and platforms, not that one should try. I can approve of removing the stuff that wouldn't be there if it weren't required by that specific rule to be there, but removing tall/floating stuff entirely would be eliminating too much epic stuff that needs to be tall or float.
