Please Respawn ores

As title says, please put in an ore respawning mechanisim, sure you may "wish" (though not nesessarily) to do a daily restart of server. And no it wont kill the economy.

Eve-Online does daily respawn or ores, and economy works fine.

Eve has:

1. PVE that will destroy ships pretty easily
2. Environments that will destroy ships (ghost sites, nebulas in some rooms iirc)
3. PVP that destroys ships daily

At one point I remember seeing stats where 100s of thousands of ships were being destroyed a month maybe even millions in war times.

DU has no such numbers to brag about.

That said it probably won't matter but not for the reasons you suggest, I suspect any respawn will just end up going to bot orders currently so instead you will be seeing more quanta entering the economy which isn't necessarily great either.

So let's say they do this, how?

1. respawn nodes as they were - well that won't go down well as you can imagine.
2. respawn randomly.......if they don't have the ability to do this then that's dev time.
3. respawn on unclaimed hexes and remove tunnels etc - see 2.

It might be better to wait for asteroids given these choices.

Important to know that you should still be able to find many types of ore, perhaps titanium ore will be hard to find but otherwise most stuff should be there?

Its a recurring topic.

NQ has yet to understand, or admit that frequent change, enriched with achievement is what players seek in computer games.

JC's vision about this in another great failure.

He assumed a game can retain a healthy ecosystem of players if the universe works around cycles of slow and increasing exhaustion of resources followed by the discovery of another resource pocket.

When in reality, this will alienate casual players. Reducing the ecosystem to a few hardcore players that dont "play the game" but instead "work the game".

Surely the economy should have long term cycles. But the cycle cannot be a full, and slow, economy depression, followed by a boom, and another slow depression.

Because players trying out the game won't wait 3 months for things to get better......

Slightly off-topic, but I feel a lot of people especially in the forum don't consider this enough.

Casual players are the lifeblood of any subscription-based MMO. They pay the bills for more hardcore players that stress the server 8 hours a day or more. Sub-based products just don't work without them.

If this game is limited to ex-eve players it'll never go anywhere -- young gamers and casual players are such a vital demographic. People born the day Eve launched are 18 years old; they haven't played Eve and they don't have the same view of 'hardcore' as some of us older gamers.

Casual gamers are something DU needs to survive as a subscription model.

I know many people around here will not like changes to make the game more appealing to casual gamers -- but honestly who makes an MMO in 2021 with a game from 2003 as a model and expects it to work commercially?!

that's why there are safezones and tbh IDC how big they are. For all I care there can be a whole safe system with 20 planets to explore, build, casually do whatever you want.

As long as 20 other systems are for territory warfare, pvp, juicy high tier ore and all that jazz

Don't see the problem really

Mainly because NQ does not have a public counter for logged in users.....

But even if they did, you would blame it in lack of PVP instead of a totally unfair and painfull game...
