DEVBLOG: THE FUTURE OF DU PART ONE: REFINING OUR PROCESSES - Feedback Thread

Imo you forgot to mention one of the most important player feedback options THE BETA FORUM. What about all the responses to YOUR posts on the updates/patches. We need you to let us know you are reading our responses. For instance your post on: 0.24 Phase One - Discussion Thread NO Dev or staff have responded to the posts there. It seems you start posts but I rarely see staff respond or interact after that. For instance what are you going to do about the issues mentioned in the post referred to above?

Doing updates is fine but we need CONTENT like asap. We need new solar systems places to explore etc a actual working market without Ore bots etc, working mission system, NPC's to fight etc the list goes on. On most days you can go into the discord and listen to conversation happening in the voice chats about the state of the game whats missing etc and we all have different opinions but the game in general is missing so much that it is hard to see the game finished. There is so many problems that we currently face along with WE NEED A WIPE as ore bots that keep getting reset has destroyed everything.

You are making a mistake again, do not continue on the path of redesigning things that are already working, the game needs you to advance in those that are not introduced, how to make sense of the universe, and all our work creating endgame mechanics, such as fighting by territories, energy consumption, or PvE mechanics like introducing pirate bots. I am not saying that it is not necessary to improve mining, I am just saying that if it is not broken, do not fix it, when there is so much work pending.

The effort to communicate more and involve the community in the development process is refreshing.  One thing that I think may help is if the snapshot used in the PTS was refreshed more frequently.  Myself and probably others want to test if the stuff they are currently working on will still work with the new changes.  Also despite what you may hear from the vocal minority, we don't need a wipe.  That would do far more harm than good.

I'm glad NQ is acknowledging the poor quality releases; meaning the obvious broken behaviors in new and changed features.

I'm hearing a huge reliance on the PTS for farming out play testing, but I'm not hearing anything about what is supposed to motivate players to spend their time and energy in PTS. At the moment, I will never play in PTS when I could be "earning" with my time on the live server. I hope there are enough souls with time to spare to cycle on PTS changes for the thrill of bug hunting; may you be blessed.

Patches need much greater frequency. Small bug fixes should be in near-constant release -- every other week or monthly at the longest.

Right now, NQ is averaging 4-5 releases per year. That's just not reasonable for a paid online game with as many bugs as DU has.

There should be a much greater push to quickly patch, test, and deploy fixes -- feature dev isn't going very quickly, anyway, at least with faster bug fixes we could see improvements more consistently.

It'd be nice to have more communication -- what features are you working on next? What's the ETA? How will they work in terms of design? E.G. territory war is a big concept but there's still no details on how it will actually work. I get that a flood of negative feedback on a feature that's not even done sucks....but the earlier you tell us what's going on, the earlier you can get feedback and the easier it is to make changes.

Unbanning everyone you've banned since the beta began would be great too.

Regardless of the reason they were banned?

Maybe some ban can be related to some specific bug or misinformation.

But others (porn, NDA, discrimination, privacy) are definitely not related to any activity that Devs/management did wrong.

Those should do their time, even if "their time" is "permanent"

what we need to have the complete fun in the game

1, First part finish Missionsystem

2. Second Part Avatar against Avatar on Planets

3. Second Part: Planetary War

4. Third Part: NPC Fights on Planet and in Space

then the future of DU is great!

and very important! A clear announcement of what is being worked on at the moment or how Avatar is planned against Avatar or the other points.

Sorry, but this is just the next iteration of "we heard you"

There is nothing substantial in this post, it does not commit to anything and just reiterates how NQ has failed to listen (which is not the same as hearing in case you wonder) to what their community is telling them.

That hey seem to think that much changed from Alpha is frankly very funny as they have just continued their attitude and ways from there with little to no change, that they seem to think or try to make the claim they did is probably the most worrying aspect of this post.

The proof wil be in the pudding here but based on the many previous attempts by NQ to spin their mistakes and shortfalls by not really taking ownership but pretend they will does not give me much hope for change.. But we'll see

Are the beta forum questions and remarks implemented? will you ban players who take schematics at 1%? Will you ban anyone that breaks the rules? Will all players be handled equal?

Are you going to turn back the stuff implemented that drove over 70% of the active players away? Will large grids be implemented?  Will mining stop being a draging grind? What are the plans on the lag issues? Will you reinstate the community page and make it possible to post there again?  Need more questions?
