blazemonger
What is the status on the devaluation of backer packs where DAC pretty much was cut in half value wise due to the much lower cost of subs? NQ promised us clarification and a solution "soon" but three months after the fact, still not a word. Also, What is the status of the referral program? It was claimed to be ready except for the website and that also is now three months after the fact. CMs promised an update several times which has never come and so, the ask is when? Inquiring mind would like to know..

jsam333
I mean to be fair in terms of money the value of the backer packs was actually heavily increased by making the beta free for backers and 1-3 friends. We didn't know the beta would include a monthly sub back then but we also thought there would be a wipe at launch so this is at least a year of free progress for anyone who supported before beta. In terms of time backers are still getting exactly what they paid for in month of after-beta time. The items in the packs have been devalued since announcement but, so has every other in-game item

Unless NQ jacks the price back up to $15 at release, which they may do as they have not actually committed to staying at $7 past release, the pitch for the packs would be overvalued by pretty much 100% at the current sub prices and NQ promised they would provide more detail and an update on this several times now. While I can understand that NQ may not want to release their pricing plans going forward, IMO they have a responsibility to their backers to be open and transparent about this especially as that was another promise made during kickstarter and beyond. le_souriceau

I heavly suspect we'll see sub price increase at realease, if not $15, but something along lines of $10-12. Current $7 feels like "painkiller" compomise for state of the game new players must endure. Also, so far, NQ demonstrated this nasty, almost endemic habit to "sneak" everything on us -- in worst case, this will be announced very shortly before changes, with probably some marketing spin like -- BUY 1 YEAR SUB 25% CHEAPER NOW, LAST CHANCE. NQ-Naunet
Hm, I just drafted a post for the Refer-a-Friend program's return, so news about that will be coming out in the next couple of weeks. I personally don't know anything about the status of backer packs/pricing, but I'll inquire. blazemonger
