Guest PhashX
Do you remember Star Wars Galaxies? It had a system, called battle-fatigue. The more you fight, the worse it got... you needed to go to a tavern, and watch other players dance. How about a System in Dual Universe, that boosts your EXP (for learning new talents) slightly, when enjoying entertainmant. This would make places like tavern or Space-Restaurants somehow attractive, and give people spots, where they meet. The Entertainment could come from Entertainment-Elements, which could play music or movies, or from players, playing instruments or dancing
NukNuk
great idea! this indeed adds a whole new natural layer and incentive to make social hotspots. players and pub owners could in turn then pay a fee for visiting/running a pub (in exchange for the XP+). it would also naturally take out some money out of the economy. the bonus should be marginal like 1%-5% tho and maybe time limited per day but its a great idea to add to the social aspect of the game Aiwhisper
Aiwhisper
Casinos or games you could bet elements on with other players would be interesting, have a shady underbelly element to the game. I feel that just doing tasks should earn you exp as well, though in micro amounts, and only in the skills you are active in. For example for every L of ore you mine you should get .01 exp (3~exp a scoop)For T1 ore and .02 for T2, etc...or something but only in a mining skill. PVP would earn you more in combat skills and even just making items would give you a small amount. However his would all be “active” exp so you would have to be online to earn it as well as close by. So auto defenses and a factory on another planet won’t earn you any Exp.
Hazard0814
Y'know, sounds like a good idea, though how do we control it, there has to be some way to say that X core/tavern cannot be any nearer than like X core to keep people from chaining them together. It would have to be only within the buildable region as well. Though I do 2nd an option like that, it would move some traffic away from things. Maybe have a designation you can set for only 1 construct to be home and have it boost your xp gain. Though this would incentivise more cautious pvp play as well, not like it's broken or anything. At least that way the construct you spend the most time in would be useful. Or even make it ORG based, for a "Main" construct.

We get cities - cities get red light districts or streets full of pubs and bars... just give us a reason to go there...
