Is there a way to make Assemblers / Industries automatically make / queue prerequisites materials of something I'm queuing?

For example, if I have all the industries (Assemblers, Metalwork, Electronics etc), can I make it so when I click on "Make Railgun XS" then the other machines will automatically make the prerequisites materials necessary to make said Railgun? (glasses, etc, automatically refine ores needed) as long as I have the material

You'll want to investigate the Programming Board and what you can do with LUA code. I suspect you could set up specific things you want to build.

So far, I have not found a way to get Industry machines to que up prerequisite assemblies.   I'm struggling internally trying to decide if that's a bod thing, or not.

the answer is no. there is currently no way of setting recipes with LUA code, so there is no way of doing that

Yes you can by making a completely automated factory. You need to have a single machine dedicated to a single part for every part that is made then funnel those parts into final containers that the assemblers will use to make components. I suppose you could extend that to having an assembler for every component in the game but thats not practical.
