Will we be able to build ships or space stations with abnormal shapes?

Hi Malice and welcome to the official Dual Universe forum! :)

The answer to your question is: yes, totally! You will be able to build a ship with the shape you want! 

Making the game in voxels was specifically meant to let player creativity go free when making a ship.
However, choosing an exotic shape might not make it easy to have an optimal efficiency.

It will be up to the builders to make the balance between design and efficiency ;)

This is by far the thing that has my hyped for this game.

 

Will look forward to being able to get some hands on and test that balance. Will need to make sure it doesn't get to a point where ships and stations and such become cookie cutter because a certain design is determined to be the most efficient.

Wow the graphics at the begginning of that video looks amazing. Looks like they enhanced and refined them although i could be wrong.

They are continually refining the graphics, and they haven't even hit the full optimization phase yet. They chose an engine that has phenomenal graphics capability. To see what the engine is capable of check out https://unigine.com/en/products/engine/visual-realism. Please note that is just what the engine can do and does not mean the game will look as good as that. But it could look that good.

You've seen nothing yet. Notice in this bit of the April Dev Diary how you can refine your designs and even place attachements on sloped areas. This simple addition alone already has me giddy at the possibilities for creations.

in the latest dev diary, the developer say that, we need material ressources for building our ships or same. If the troll collects resources for such a large spacecraft, it also takes part in the game and provides the right foundation for us to take advantage of all the features.
