The other Arks?

I read the games backstroy about how Earth was destroyed and it refers to "thousands" of Ark Ships built to take as many people as possible.

 

So question is will we maybe someday discover other Ark ships? Obviously some or even many would be lost due to bad luck and random spacey bad things, but would think at least some other Ark ships survived as well. Even if its just story fluff might be cool to find out what happened to other Arks.

 

Whether it be new starting points for new characters or new NPC factions for future expansion content hoping we learn more about the other Ark ships somehow.

There are no plans to add NPC's really to the game apart from the initial trade bots that will circulate the first round of in-game currency.

 

There will however be discoverable safe-zones on other planets, possibly from other ark ships. Not sure if we will find them empty, or if there were just no survivors, or if other safe zones are created by non-ark ship entities.

 

In future expansions we might have some PVE content, possibly in the form of arkships with hostile AI's or robots, but we probably wont' see hostile NPC humans or anything of the sort, as the humans in the game are exclusively going to be other players.

Thanks for reading the backstory because I didn't. Maybe it hides some major update for the future, like AI aliens, or AI other humans like us, theories about the KS's 'secret' development have already been made up.

There is also the very real possibility that our Ark is the first to hit Alioth and that we might see others arrive with more waves of colonists. (Player colonists I mean)
