Thunux Confederation backstory

This will not be a complete "backstory of the org" since a lot of the story is supposed to turn out through the forming of the confederation itself, however i can tell you about my own made up inspiration for it.

 

Thunux Confederation is an organisation ruling a multi-city (later multi-planet) union and their goal is to develop a military might strong enough to take what they need from others with force. It's a newly formed organisation patched together by fiendish geniuses. These people all come from places they prefer to not speak of. But the goal is shared, power through conquest.

 

Where did the name come from? That was immediately the question asked by the newer representatives when they audience with the high court. Well it's not a long story really, it has all with their common goal to do, power through conquest...

 

Space colonization has not been around for a long time, humans of tellus and other planets had their first encounter not long after spaceship technology reached the point where space-warping became possible, during this era (lets call it The Grand Leap of Technology)

there was a man who was very skilled at trading, but he was also a great soldier and engineer, a jack of all trades so to speak. His name was Thunux and he did not come from Tellus, no he came from an unknown poor planet with a human-like race. They were amongst the later ones to have the technology shared to them, but it didn't stop Thunux from achieving great things. However this man wasn't much of a morale-man. Thunux had been forced to commit illegal acts before to his own benefit. Nothing would stop him now to do so again.

 

Thunux build his own spaceship of decent quality at the age of 29 and he started trading with it as soon as possible. Nobody really knew his tricks on the market but in five or six years he had made himself a good fortune and now had a respected trade-company which consisted of 10 members, all former soldiers with a skill for trade. But larger trading coorporations got their eyes open glaring at his progress, and as history like to repeat itself they tried to shut him down, but nobody could buy his loyal men or find his travel maps that he had kept as an analog piece for the entire time. 

 

Angered at the unfairness of the business-world Thunux swore to expand his power and climb to the peak of power where he could swing the hammer back at the big corps. And such thing was going to happen if it werent for him dissappearing during a spacestorm trying to deliver his biggest yet load of rare metal to a high bidding client. He might have died, he might have found somewhere to settle with all the money he got from the delivery after finding it easier to do it that way. He was a man of great skill, not of great will.

 

Anyhow as this story implies, the to be confederation with his name is merely a metaphore for Thunux skills and goals, trading, fighting and eventually conquering his wrongdoers. But there is a reason why this story lives on and it is because three of the ten men serving under Thunux are the ones that founded the prototype of an organisation that lead to the beginning of this Thunux Confederation. The name is but a tribute to a simple man who never got to see his goals fulfilled, however fullfilling such goals is very much on the agenda for these three guys.
