  1. PurplePanda’s Space/Construction Game list This list is being created for anyone who or wants some DU-ish games to play between tests or until DU releases. All of these have been chosen by me through “extensive” research that I did an hour ago, as well as some personal favorite of mine. Hope you enjoy some of these games, I think some of them are definitely worth a look! (Note all reviews will be from there Steam pages) Out Now Avorion - Early Access A procedural co-op space sandbox where players can build their own space ships out of dynamically scalable blocks. Fight epic space battles, explore, mine, trade, wage wars and build your own empire to save your galaxy from being torn apart by an unknown enemy I’ve seen this game around for a little bit and although I’ve never played it myself, I find the aesthetics and mechanics look fantastic. For me it really puts into scope how big the universe is and how there is so much more out there, but less in an existential way, and more in an curious way. All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive. $22.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/445220/Avorion/ Astroneer - Fully Released Explore and reshape distant worlds! Astroneer is set during the 25th century Intergalactic Age of Discovery, where Astroneers explore the frontiers of outer space, risking their lives in harsh environments to unearth rare discoveries and unlock the mysteries of the universe. In this space sandbox adventure, players can work together to build custom bases above or below ground, create vehicles to explore a vast solar system, and use terrain to create anything they can imagine. A player’s creativity and ingenuity are the keys to thriving on exciting planetary adventures! Once again I haven’t actually played the game but I’ve seen it from time to time and the aesthetics are simply whimsical. I also watched a very interesting and entertaining documentary about it and the company’s creation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfUjl4owxTQ All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Very Positive. $29.99 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/361420/ASTRONEER/ Star Made - Early Access The ultimate space sandbox. Participate in epic fleet battles, form alliances, strive to dominate entire galaxies and harness the universe’s resources for your industrious empire or the destruction of others. Customize your experience, the universe is yours! A voxel-based 3D sandbox set in the never-ending darkness of space. Create your own ships, explore new galaxies, stars, and planets. Discover and salvage space stations, fight against pirates or opposing factions in multiplayer. Equip your ships with completely customizable weapons and conquer the galaxy. Trade and make a fortune, mass produce materials in gigantic factories. Design your very own space station. Create warp gates and network the universe at your front door. Star made is probably the game I have sunk the most hours into (although not that impressive), and I’ll admit I had a lot of fun doing it but the game has kind of stagnated. Personally, I think it is a good game but updates now rarely come out and the community is all but dead. If you enjoy playing by yourself and are able to see past some of its problems, I do believe you could have a genuinely enjoyable experience. At the very least it could be useful for prototyping ship ideas. All Reviews: Mixed Recent Reviews: Mostly Positive. $Free. Download the demo it’s the full game. https://www.star-made.org/ Interstellar Rift - Early Access Interstellar Rift is an open world Starship Simulator with an emphasis on ship construction and multi-player interaction. Players can explore and conquer the galaxy with their own custom designed and constructed a starship. Space is vast, but you won't have to face it alone, other players will be able to join your crew, and help out, or build their own rival fleet and fight you across the galaxy. I don’t own this game and have only recently learned about it but from what I’ve seen (and read) it incentivizes ship creation and allows for immense amounts of creative freedom. All Reviews: Mostly Positive Recent Reviews: Mixed. $26.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/363360/Interstellar_Rift/ FTL: Faster Than Light - Fully Released In FTL you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions. What will you do if a heavy missile barrage shuts down your shields? Reroute all power to the engines in an attempt to escape, power up additional weapons to blow your enemy out of the sky, or take the fight to them with a boarding party? This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat. I don’t know much about this game and I have never played it, but I know it’s a classic and that it’s a classic for a reason. Definitely worth a try if you haven't yet. All Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive Recent Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive. $14.50 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/FTL_Faster_Than_Light/ Cosmoteer - Early Access Cosmoteer is a starship design, simulation, and battle game. Design a fleet of ships by placing individual modules including weapons, shields, engines, and hallways. Battle A.I. starships to earn bounties or test your design skills against other players. A dynamic crew and combat simulation make every design decision important and interesting. This game is one of my recent favorite, hands down. I find the way how the shipbuilding and 2D elements blend to be thoroughly enjoyable. There is a large amount of flexibility when it comes to the construction of your ships and I find it deeply satisfying when I pit two of my creation against each other, using there A.I to efficiently decimate the other party. I highly recommend this game, whether you're into pitting your creations against other peoples ships or your own (or the bounty hunter campaign). Plus there's nothing to lose, it’s free!!! (There's also a relatively large modding community). No Official Reviews. $Free (at least for now). https://cosmoteer.net/ Space Engineers - Fully Released Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration, and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and use's, pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive. I don’t have much to say on this title as I have played it only on occasion, it’s a very well know game with a good single player mode. The multiplayer has been notorious for its issues but it does work to some extent (from what I’ve seen) and it was known for its insanely long alpha period, but in total it’s apparently a really good game. All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Very. $28.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/244850/Space_Engineers/ No Man’s Sky - Fully Released In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again. If you know anything about this game, you know about its horrendously rough start and while I wouldn't say all the hate the company was just, after twenty hours of playing I got bored and stopped. But while some of the responses were justified, Hello Games were able to truly turn their disaster around. Although I myself have barely played it since release I intend to soon, that's because in the years No Man’s Sky has been online Hello Game has been constantly updated. If you bought this game and have never looked at it since I highly suggest you give it another chance, you may be pleasantly surprised. All Reviews: Mixed Recent Reviews: Very Positive. $84.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/275850/No_Mans_Sky/ Kerbal Space Program - Fully Released In Kerbal Space Program, take charge of the space program for the alien race known as the Kerbals. You have access to an array of parts to assemble fully-functional spacecraft that flies (or doesn’t) based on realistic aerodynamic and orbital physics. Launch your Kerbal crew into orbit and beyond (while keeping them alive) to explore moons and planets in the Kerbol solar system, constructing bases and space stations to expand the reach of your expedition. K.S.P is another game I would have to list as a favorite game, simply because it is so difficult yet so fun, in all the 40 hours I’ve played I got nowhere, but I got nowhere with style. And I think that's what's so great about it, if you do dedicate time and effort you can go somewhere, you can go to many many where’s. Whether you're a casual player that just wants to play in sandbox mode or colonies the solar system through dedication, this game deserves a look. All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive. $45.99 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/220200/Kerbal_Space_Program/ PULSAR: Lost Colony - Early Access Team up to operate an advanced starship and explore a randomized galaxy falling into chaos. Each player assumes a role aboard the ship: Captain, Pilot, Scientist, Weapons Specialist and Engineer. Coordination between your crewmembers will be essential in order to survive the perils that await you. I’ve been seeing the game on multiple sites like youtube for the past few years and it always caught my attention. I love the idea of having specialized roles and love how they have been able to recreate that ship on the frontier feel, with only yourself and your crewmates to rely on. If you like playing in friend groups, or just want to feel like you actually are controlling a ship, this game is for you. All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive. $35.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/252870/PULSAR_Lost_Colony/ Planet Nomads - Fully Released Planet Nomads is a single player sci-fi sandbox game of survival on alien planets through block-style building. You are a lone astronaut scientist crash-landing on a strangely captivating planet. Keeping your wit together and securing your basic survival needs that include food, water, and building material is the best start towards figuring out a way out of this messy situation. This game started its development around the same time as the No Man’s Sky hype and sort of faded into the background, and although production continued the product today is quite controversial. Many of the players say that the game failed due to lag, mediocre updates, and eventual boredom while many others really like the game and still support it. If your willing to give this game a chance and aren't adverse to a bit of risk it might be something to check out. All Reviews: Mixed All Reviews Mixed. $28.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/504050/Planet_Nomads/ Elite Dangerous - Fully Released Elite Dangerous is the definitive massively multiplayer space epic, bringing gaming’s original open-world adventure to the modern generation with a connected galaxy, evolving narrative and the entirety of the Milky Way re-created at its full galactic proportions. I don’t actually know much about Elite, I know it’s big, it’s pretty and it’s quite hard to get into it and enjoy it but other than that it’s up to you to investigate and research. All Reviews: Mixed Recent Reviews: Very Positive. $42.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/359320/Elite_Dangerous/ Infinfactory - Fully Released Infinifactory is a sandbox puzzle game by Zachtronics, the creators of SpaceChem and Infiniminer. Build factories that assemble products for your alien overlords, and try not to die in the process. This game is all about industry, so it would be perfect for anyone partaking in Alpha 2 to get some “practice” before or in between (I don’t know how much help it would be). Other than that, anyone who likes to create systems that work flawlessly or like to think logically might like this game. All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive. $35.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/300570/Infinifactory/ Empyrion Galactic Survival - Early Access Empyrion - Galactic Survival is a 3D open-world space sandbox survival adventure. Build powerful ships, mighty space stations and vast planetary settlements to explore, conquer or exploit a variety of different planets and discover the mysteries of Empyrion! As far as I can tell, Empyrion is a game similar to Space engineers with more customization ability for its creations. Of course, there are probably several key differences but I have not played the game and thus do not know. All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Mostly Positive. $28.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/383120/Empyrion__Galactic_Survival/ Nimbatus - Early Access Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor is an action-packed simulation game. Craft drones out of hundreds of different parts and explores a destructible, procedurally generated galaxy. Build autonomous drones to fight against other players' creations. Do you have what it takes to become a drone engineer? I’ve only played Nimbatus for a little bit, but from what I have played and have seen externally from the game, it is going to highly appeal to those who like using logic parts. While i is an extremely fun game without using them and I suggest you look into the game, either way, the logic parts are definitely one of its strong suites. All Reviews: Very Positive Recent Reviews: Very Positive $28.95 AU https://store.steampowered.com/app/383840/Nimbatus__The_Space_Drone_Constructor/ EVE Online - Fully Released EVE Online is a community-driven spaceship MMO where players can play free, choosing their own path from countless options. Experience space exploration, immense PvP and PvE battles, mining, industry and a thriving player economy in an ever-expanding sandbox. EVE truly is a virtual world, one that houses so many people and factions and wars it’s almost impossible to keep track of. If you're looking for a game with history and lore, legends and tales of war, and distances almost unimaginable to the human mind, then EVE is for you. Although you should note that it is extremely hard to get into and to fully immerse yourself in the culture and history, will take a lot of dedication. All Reviews: Mostly Positive Recent Reviews: Very Positive. $Free (With packs) https://store.steampowered.com/app/8500/EVE_Online/ Bonus I know we already have enough on our plate with DU, but these two are game projects that are definitely worth following in the future. I highly suggest you look into them. 2. Hi there, Long time fan and player since the last alpha. Let me start out by saying this game has so much potential and is already in a fairly enjoyable and playable state. I don't want to comment on stuff like performance and bug fixes since many have pointed this out already and I think DU staff have their priorities on getting this on-rails asap. I want to talk about communication mostly, and immersion, and I get the second subject might be a bit further down the line: Communication - critique: One of the things I always think impacts general interest in a game and keeps players peeking for updates, especially alpha/beta or early releases, is clear and open communication and roadmaps. Now, I know there is a roadmap, but I want to be frank about this; it doesn't do a good job of peaking my interest. Its vague, incomplete and simply all over the place. Even the implementation of the poll-system, while a very good addition, isn't cutting it. Communication - solution: I believe the roadmap should be a lot more detailed and divided into short, mid and long term. On the short term there should be details about implementations in the upcoming weeks, with dates!; think of gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, small gameplay additions etc. On the mid-term, say months, there should be a list of upcoming implementations of small to medium systems/gameplay additions/graphical updates. And on the long-term you can keep the descriptions as you have them now in the roadmap, with focus on big changes and implementations, add-ons and serious gameplay changes. All-in-all, there needs to be a better grasp of what the team is focusing on. To take it to another level, if you're working in a scrum kind of way, just share the sprints as short-term roadmaps (just an idea). And all of these need to be realistic, the more you need to push stuff backwards, the more you create a backlog and frustration with the players. Its better to start with small increments and deliver, than vice-versa. Its difficult to assess what you guys/girls are working on back there, while that has many people very excited as well if they knew. Immersion - feedback: I'll keep this one shorter, but after playing the game for a LOT of hours in the past months, it has come to my attention that a lot is missing in the game which should create more immersion. This is mostly small stuff: sound effects mostly, but also visual effects (like the missing animations of industry)... The galaxy and planets feel deserted, even with the amount of players flying around. Its just not... alive. And there should be random stuff happening... nothing major perse. Just my 2 cents that I had in the back of my head and needed to write off. See you in game!
  3. So, I’m really interested in this game and am considering buying it. The only thing in concerned about, is if I were to buy the $60 pledge for Alpha 3, would I have to pay another $60 for the next test period or Alpha 4? Thanks in advance
  4. I was a bit disappointed to hear that right now there is only 1 day where we can play the game for a few hours during Pre-Alpha, and I'm worried that this system of opening the servers for one day every month will continue. Do any of you guys know if the servers will be on more frequently during Alpha?
  5. I'm going to give away alpha access packs on my stream twitch.tv/ryanisqairde. These are milestone giveaways so come by, check me out, and if ya have fun or get some laughs then feel free to follow.
  6. The Federation Alpha is a political entity with an autocratic government form and an aggressive-expansive mindset. We exist with the aim to help our citizens and build up a civilization, so our citizens can live freely. We strive to unite others with us to help promote production and a favourable lifestyle. We offer protection, asylum and citizenship to everybody. We, the people of The Federation Alpha, want to unify the galaxy to make it a better place! Allow me to explain a bit more. The power of The Federation Alpha is divided into 11 ministries, one Prime Minister and the President. Every minister is leading a specific department which consists of coordinating and initiating projects no matter if proposed by a citizen or the president. Onto the more specific job descriptions of the government: The President: He's the head of the state, makes most of the decisions and is the head of the council of ministers. The Prime Minister: They are the right hand of the president, but take the president’s place in his absence, they are the second head of the council of ministers and responsible for the infrastructure. The Minister of Defence: They regulate the armed forces, oversee the military budget matters and procurement of equipment. The Minister of Finance: They're in charge of government finances, economic policy and financial regulation. The Minister of Commerce: They're responsible for regulating external/internal trade and promoting economic growth. The Minister of Immigration: They have the capability to grant citizenship, but also take care of immigration issues, and asylum for refugees. The Minister of Industry: They're in charge of the industry, which includes engineering, employment, and trading. The Minister of Resources: They look after the natural resources (The own resources are kept for emergency situations, instead we go mine somewhere else) The Minister of Development: They oversee innovation, science and economic development. The Minister of Internal Affairs: They're responsible for policing, emergency management and national security. The Minister of Foreign Affairs: They take care of the state’s foreign policy and manage external relations (ex.: Alliances, Peace treaty, truce, …) The Minister of Transport: They're in charge of the transportation within the country. Their responsibilities are road safety, civil aviation, public transport and maintenance of infrastructural projects. (road, bridges, tunnels, …) The Minister of Health: They're responsible for protecting and promoting public health, providing welfare and other social security services. The Admiral: They put the orders of the Minister of Defence into motion, coordinate and supervise the Space Force of the Army. The General: They put the orders of the Minister of Defence into motion, coordinate and supervise the Air and Ground Force of the Army. Governor: They execute the plans of a minister, at least one Governor is assigned to a minister. Their other duties are to oversee their sector and to do quality inspections. Alpha Police Department: It is empowered by the state to enforce the law, protect property and limit civil disorder. They are allowed to use force if necessary. Captain: They command a ship and coordinate the battles in space. Colonel: They command the battles in the air and on the ground. Fighter Pilot: They're trained pilots, who will dominate the sky and space with their comrades, fighting the enemy. There are two categories of Fighter Pilots: Class A (atmosphere) and Class S (space). Trooper: They're disciplined and skilled soldiers, who will be on the front and fight the battles for the Federation Alpha. Those were the main jobs that will be provided by the Federation Alpha. (there are more) Military structure: The military is separated into three sections: The Ground Force, the Air Force and Space Force. The Alpha Ground Force (AGF) and the Alpha Air Force (AAF) is commanded by the General, who is the highest ranking of the Ground and Air Force. The Ground and Air Force consist of the General, Colonels, Majors, Troop Commanders/Air Commanders, Squad Leaders/Air Squadron Leaders and Troopers/Air Fighter Pilots. The Admiral is the highest ranking of the Alpha Space Force (ASF). The Alpha Space Force consists of the Admiral, Captains, Commanders, Lieutenants, Squadron Leaders/Ensigns and Fighter Pilots/Crewmen. In the chain of command, the General and Admiral are equals, those above them are the Minister of Defence, the Prime Minister and the President. The first members of the military will be Troopers and Fighter Pilots because they are the most important part, after recruiting enough man power, we will provide personal training for those who want to rank up. In order to provide a fun environment for every player (citizen of Federation Alpha) and have a frame of ideals to be considered when meeting decisions, we have created a few fundamental rules that compose the general code of conduct for every member. These are the basic laws that will be operating in the federation. LAWS: 1. Human dignity; the human dignity shall be respected. 2. Personal Freedoms; personal freedoms shall be respected. 3. Equality before the law; every individual will be treated the same way. 4. Freedom of faith, conscience and creed; every individual has the right to believe in something, this shall be respected. 5. Freedom of expression; every individual has the right to have his own opinion and to express it. 6. Freedom of assembly; every individual has the right to freely meet up with other people. 7. Freedom of association; any individual can create or join a group/corporation. 8. Privacy of correspondence, post and telecommunications; a conversation between different individuals of the Federation Alpha should not be disclosed without the consent of every participating party. 9. Freedom of movement; every individual has the right to move freely, where- and whenever he wants, if it doesn’t violate any other laws. 10. Occupational Freedom, prohibition of forced labour; each individual has the right to choose their profession and shall not be forced into labour. 11. Compulsory military or alternative service; in case of war or conflict, the military has the possibility to conscript an individual to fight. This individual has the right to refuse, but in that case, they will have to sign up for an alternative service. 12. Inviolability of the home; no individual has the right to enter a private building without the owner’s permission, but if a police officer presents a warrant from a Judge then he has the right to enter. 13. Property, inheritance, expropriation; no one has the right to take away your property, but if it violates any other laws then the state will take actions. 14. Citizenship, extradition; every individual has the right to obtain the Federation Alpha’s nationality. No one has the right to remove their citizenship except the state if it has a valid reason. 15. Right of asylum; if an individual is being chased/followed, they have the right to get asylum until the threat is over. 16. Right of petition; every individual has the right to organize a petition, if they collect enough votes the petition will be considered by the state. THE FINANCE SYSTEM OUR PLANS: The aim of the federation alpha is to build a nation that stays competitive throughout its existence, provides for its citizens and is always capable of growing and improving in order to provide a fun experience for every member. We start this off by focusing on the core of our nation, a capital city that we want to see become a meaningful spot and landmark in the Dual Universe history. Naturally, this will need a lot of hard work that we start of by gathering resources, what will likely fill our schedule for the first days and weeks. After this, the team would be split up into two separate groups one of them will be focusing on building spaceships to get off Alioth and the other one will need to continue mining resources. Once away from Alioth, we will search for a suitable location to begin with the building process of the capital. The first building of the capital will be the HQ, where everything will be managed from. Later on, we will start to build up different sectors like the market, storage and landing areas. For the future, there are naturally more projects, for example we planned to build apartments, roads, stores, a subway system and more. The military has also a role in this, it’s purpose is to protect the Federation Alpha, to fight the enemy, to conquer new land and even sometimes to explore. Morality: The Federation will be kind to everybody, but if we want/need something we will take it. As an example, if we conquer a territory where somebody lives, we will give its inhabitants a choice: they can leave without getting harmed or they can choose to become a citizen of The Federation Alpha and enjoy all advantages that the federation offers, which should be preferable for them. Jobs that the state will provide, will be well paid and the workers get a free living area in exchange for their work. Our priority is the well-being of our citizen, that everyone is treated the same good way. Farewell: Every opinion is welcome. Our current status is 100 members, I hope you consider joining us or just even talk with us. If you want to know more about this project, just join our discord. https://discord.gg/5meXpj7 Our website: http://ogy.de/FederationALPHA My team and I would love to answer your questions. Kind regards Ginger

  8. Dear DUdes and DUdettes, Today, we have an announcement that should make our Alpha testers happy! Due to our internal development process and by popular demand, we decided to bring some modifications to our Alpha test schedule. So, from now on, next Alpha tests will happen as follows: three times a month, a 96 hours test session will occur, spanning from Thursday, 14h00 UTC to Monday, 14h00 UTC. That means there won't be any test session once a month. This way, it will be easier for us to better plan production. We'll continue to analyze your feedback and the data produced by your crazy adorable in-game behavior It will allow us to better refine things along the way on our road to Alpha 2. Overall, we think it's an improvement: longer test sessions covering weekends every time. This should be more comfortable for many of you! Our Server status page remains the best way to get informed on when tests happen. It's up to date for next month and still here for you to visit (if it's not a bookmark in your web browser already): https://www.dualthegame.com/en/server-status/ Cheers, The Novaquark Team
  9. Greetings, I have created a street code for my federation, because it seemed that nobody had made one yet. This street code will be actif within our federation and enforced by our police department. Anyone wishing to travel in our territory must follow the S.C., violating the rules of the S.C. will have consequences. The weakest penalty is a fine, but if too many rules were broken or repetitively broken it even can end with a driving ban. The flying traffic will be prohibited in the cities, therefore planes and spaceships will have designated landing areas on the borders of the cities. 10. Hello everyone so, I just got myself the Patron pack (and iam pretty new here obviously) which should, so I think, also give me access to the pre alpha forum. But it seems like I don't have access to it ... sadly. Question is, what should I do about it? - Drunken Savage
  11. Hello, today I'm introducing myself, first of all my name is Ginger. I discovered Dual Universe last year, but now here I am! I'm a cosmopolitan, I was born in France, have a german passport, but I live in Luxembourg, I speak 4 languages and learning a fifth one. If you're curious I speak English which is quite obvious, then there German, French and Luxembourgish, and let's not forget the fifth one: Russian (but I'm still a beginner). Btw I have project with friends that is called: THE FEDERATION ALPHA, more about it in future Posts. I'm glad to be here! Have a nice day, night, morning, evening or whatever!
  12. Hey, I'm new around here and have what is possibly a dumb question. I'm planning on getting the bronze pledge pack so I wonder roughly when is the release of the alpha stages projected and also for the final release. Also if you could somehow get to earlier alpha tests without giving the whole monthly scholarship. Thanks for replying in advance!
  13. Ladies and gentlemen, can a silver member have the chance to play the alpha on September 30 or later ? Your request motivates me to support you from the time of the kickstarter.
  14. So I don't really post much here but I thought this was an interesting topic. Looking from the point-of-view as someone who helps runs/admins a community the Pre-alpha hurts quite a lot. It stops communication between people in the org, talk about most of the game and stops the community from growing as much as I want. This can lead to burnout from the orgs and the game itself which is a problem. Now there are a few options to fix this: 1. NQ removes the NDA This probably wont happen as NQ has said quite a few times that it still committed to the NDA 2. Upgrade the accounts - So Beta gets access to Alpha, etc. This could happen, probably wont. Justified because the sudden release of pre-Alpha. Everything got kicked back. (according to an old thread Beta was meant to be released this year.) Now the third option is probably the best and most likely to happen: 3. Allow non Pre-Alpha users to agree to the NDA and add a badge to there profile showing they have signed it. This would really help communities develop as more people can have access to chats/and actually talk about the game but still keep the NDA intact. I do hope choose something to help communities with this. And I know the Supporter packs mean more can access the Pre-Alpha but that is locked behind a pay wall that not everyone can access. Many Thanks Darrk
  15. I was one of the early Kickstarter supporters at the Gold Founder level and did not receive any emails or access to the Alpha. My account shows my status as Gold Founder level. How do I make sure I'm a part of the future alphas?
  16. The idea is simple, we alpha players, have the opportunity to test and try before everyone. So why not build our own city, as an experience ? Anyone can join and build is own stuff, no need for big. So, who's in ? Why this ? -Do a social experience -Strengthen the community -See how much it's doable or not -Test the game, and see if we have to address issues to the dev, or new ideas. It would be very nice if the major organization participate (even with few members) to this and have their own quarter here. I do not want to own the city, I just want to do a prove of concept, see if it's socially acceptable, as well as doable. It has to be a community project, and it can be done because we are not yet a huge amount of players. We are all here as tester, so let's do so and see what we can do with this game. Thank you for your vote, whatever the answer. EDIT: I created an Organization for convenient reason, it will just let us build together under the same zone and have no other purpose than rising the Alpha City. https://community.dualthegame.com/organization/alpha-city
  17. An in game Construct Creator would give designers the capacity to efficiently build, test, and iterate designs. This could be done in a way that utilizes current technology slated for development in the game. One method would be to use reformat-able zones. Players would spawn into these zones with a tool set similar to what is being implemented in pre-alpha. After the play session the zone is formatted.
  18. Although usually not very active on the forums, I just wanted to take a moment to send out my regards to the ATV team and NQ wishing you both the best of luck this weekend. This test marks a significant milestone in dual universe’s development, and the whole community is praying for your success. In particular to the ATV team, remember you represent all of us, the players. We share the same hopes and dreams for dual universe but the responsibility to help make them happen falls on your shoulders. How you conduct yourselves over the next two days and the months to come will influence both the quality and timeline of development. For every bug you find, for every concept you critic, you are paving the way forward towards our dream. To my surprise each and every ATV member I have interacted with has been a commendable individual worthy of respect, donating both their time and expertise towards promoting the game. The time has finally come for you to contribute in earnest and show us what you are really made of. I know you will make us all proud. I invite others to comment below and offer their words of encouragement to our first group of pioneers.
  19. Do we know when the actual alpha is going to be released (within a month or so) just so we know when the game is up full time? The Perdere Mining and Trade Division thanks you for reading this message. Join Perdere Today!
  20. Is alpha going to be the same thing as space engineers, but without damage? - _ -
  21. Greetings people, As alpha is approaching fast we would like to announce the first player organized Mass tests, called BOOM! For all alpha backers out there we in BOO would like to do those tests with as many people as possible. As this is an MMO with a strong focus on player interaction we want to help NQ in testing their server tech. It’s perfectly fine if you test the game for yourself or with friends but doing the same things in huge groups has to be tested thoroughly too - so watch this thread (follow it!) or discord for the announcements of the next BOOM! tl:dr facts: - player organized mass tests - narrated and guided by BOO staff - two tests on the same day (8pm GMT+2 and GMT-6) for EU and US timezone - NQ will monitor these tests for further evaluation - weekly tests of different areas of DU - g-drive storage for bug-reports and easy access for NQ What YOU need to do: - join https://discord.gg/CYNYpT9 (BOOs relay discord) - go to https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzJofzdOkjNAU0RuMkYtVWE4QkU and RTFM - download the spreadsheet and enter your details (ingame name, system, drivers) - watch out for the announcement and join the voice channel in the BOO discord - hopefully understand english - if you hear “CHECK CHECK” - STFU - do what you are told to do - have fun! We plan on doing those tests on a weekly basis, depending on the server-uptime and our RL. As the adults we all are you should easily be able to understand the rules of these tests and how to deal with the spreadsheet. If you want to help organizing stuff for these tests (building ships in advance, scripting, building bases to test in,...) feel free to contact a staff member of BOO. If you have any questions, issues or just want to improve stuff - please reach out to us. We will upload a document before each test where we will outline the basic testing scenario. Feel free to reach out to us via discord or in that document (you can edit it!) with your ideas! Each of these documents will be in the respective folder on the drive to let you guys know in advance what to prepare for the tests and what we will do. The first BOOM will include: - movement - gathering people in a spot - jumping/crouching/running/whatever with different distances to each other - (hopefully) a little surprise for you all *NOTE* The spreadsheet might be subject to change, as we want to make the reports as convenient as possible for NQ for further evaluation See you in alpha The first mass test will be announced here and on discord - most likely one week after official alpha release of DU Note: As things change in such a phase of a game, things like the discord, gdrive and other stuff might and possibly will change too. In order for everyone to be on the safe side (NDA) and because of the ever changing nature of a pre-alpha and alpha, I'm in contact with NQ since the beginning.
  22. I would like to see more ideas based on automation. So far, I've seen JC talk about having a large number players working together... Obviously, JC doesn't watch SAO, sometimes you gotta solo... I mean, If I built a large ship with guns, I want to be able to fly it on my own, without having to ask a stranger to come on board and touch my stuff.
  23. I just wanted to see what you guys thought about the post by NQ-Nomad in:
