  1. IDK if it's just me, but I find it quite unnerving that the player size is absurdly tall (exactly 2 meters). Especially for the sake of allowing smaller interiors to not feel so cramped, as well as making the player generally feel more like themselves (but in an alternate universe, AKA immersion), I think it makes more sense for the player to be 6.5-7 blocks tall. While a minor change, I think it would be a welcome addition. If the devs are willing to go further, I think that the players should be able to set their player height (within reason) when making their character (and/or when we edit our avatars as well). Would be a welcome addition on my part.
  2. I welcome you to The League of Solo Players. Its an Organization Dedicated to All the Gods that chose to be solo. This Organization is a tool to connect all solo players regardless of current Organizations to share free information, wether it be gaming issues or to Lua coding issues. Every Player is Equal. All voices will be heard. This Organization Identifies as Solo Player Website https://community.dualthegame.com/organization/the-league-of-solo-players/#tab-description Discord https://discord.gg/3nCCcJj
  3. Greetings, I'm Aydens, it's just to say hello and tell you that I'm human ?
  4. Hi everyone ? I’m quite new around here so I just wanted to pop in and say hi ^^ Also wanted to ask about the Discord Authorization hehe.. ? Seems I need to be approved to continue? So thanks a lot in advance ^^ Glad to be here and all the best your way
  5. Hey, so one reoccurring thing that I see in my organization's discord is that we would love to have our own distinct armor/player model... how much of a stretch would it be to add that to the game... it would help to identify different orgs. Maybe the organizations that want them could make their own 3D model and send it to Novaquark. It's just an idea, but it would be cool to see different factions ideas for armor!
  6. Hello, I'm Anotaros, a sci-fi nerd who hasn't used a forum in a long time, but is excited to get into it with such an incredibly active community and such an exciting project. Not gonna lie, when i saw this game i thought i was dreaming. Then i wasn't dreaming and i realized this may be my "perfect game" so im ecstatic at the idea of getting right into the community and talking with everyone about the game, and can't wait for the game to be finished. When i get into the game im hoping to become a freelance builder who just builds cool space stations, and maybe some structures on the ground, using the advanced building system i have heard so much about. Beyond that i want to help the devs get all the servers nice and cozy for the release so that the players of the universe can enjoy their time in the game.
  7. So i was thinking, in many science fiction books/games/films there are always many bio-technological implants or gadgets that after one injection or augmentation are then permanent part of your body, like Infra-red camera directly to your eye so then you can see in darkness or muscle strengthening to make you jump higher etc. I thought it would be great to have at least some possibilities to do things like that in DU
  8. There are two kinds of subscriptions which I can think of off the top of my head. Monthly subscriptions and hourly subscriptions. The difference is as follows. Monthly subscriptions last for a duration of months after their activation and constantly count down regardless of whether or not the player is online. Hourly subscriptions pay directly for the hours a player can be online, which can be used whenever the player wishes, meaning that you are directly paying for the time you are online. The inclusion of both would be very beneficial for creating freedom in choice for purchasing time to play the game. The major difference is that monthly is often cheaper, but doesn't account for players who rarely get on or who get on extremely often, resulting in a less predictable load on the servers. With the hourly system, players directly pay for the time they will be using up server resources, which is more precise and can be saved for when they want to play. As someone who often plays something a lot but in short bursts, I would prefer the hourly subscription.
  9. So. Here I am. Basics: Australian. Life long gamer. Digital native and netizen. Unlike a lot of you cool kids, I'm not a C# programmer, can't do 3D models, and I'm only slowly learning LUA (by which I mean it's on my to-do list). And I've never played EVE, Star Citizen or any of other other titles that seem to give cred (does Stellaris, No Mans Sky or Rebel Galaxy count?). I did play SW:Galaxies back in the day tho. So. What do I bring to this little party? (since intro threads seem to be as much about introductions as they are a sort of "recruit me" post or NQ resume - yeah - who knows - maybe it'll pique their interest.) Not a lot really in my mind - I'm just some guy - the stuff below should give an indication why I try not to mix social and professional life. (But hey - NQ, if you're reading - I'm happy to do both for the right peep ). Professional skills: Architecture, implementation etc of High Availability / High Performance online solutions Big data | Linked Data | Open Data | Semantic Web International Standards on data exchange, web standards, technical standards (ISO, W3C etc) Information Architecture, Concept Modelling etc inc. knowledge management IT Security, encryption, blockchain etc Cloud, Distributed applications (blockchain, P2P or traditional federation) Identity and Access | Privacy Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, Deep Learning etc World Design / Game Design User experience / UI / machine to machine service design/ API design inc. patterns Social media / online community engagement and management Bunch of other things most people find really boring but are the foundation of stuff like MMO's (e.g. everything from time synchronization through to GIS systems) Behavioral and organisation psychology | social engineering etc Currently working in the Public Sector, sometimes an invited expert to various W3C/Internet/Government fora, presented to people like the OECD and various Central Banks/Statistical Organisations on developing for 0-scale architecture (cloud etc.), Programme committee member for International industry conferences, that sort of stuff. Completely self taught , never been to University - I'm just a guy who's apparently OK at what I do. Oh - and I've worked on a few "major" games over the years (in terms of size or brand) writing story lines / world backgrounds / inventing game mechanics etc or managing large communities inc. admin run game events and story arcs - never paid - I just love making and playing games, especially grand strategy, sandbox and RPG's. CUBye!
