  2. I know that NQ doesn't have any kind of road map for wheels at this time. And while I'm sure that's based on their projections to having a stable single shard Universe. There have been other threads started about wanting wheels for the sake of having them but not too much linear thought down that line of what we would do with them beyond the obvious. So I propose (Assuming we get wheels and any other form of locomotion) we work towards having a Planetary scale race track! For those who have seen the Anime 'Redline' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lH7eBCTu_eM There is a Race that is held in 3 teirs. Blue, Yellow, then Red 'Line'. At the highest class about a dozen racers have a ground race where the vehicles go sometimes several hundred miles per hour with the race lasting somewhere in the 1+ hours range. The main Idea for this race is primarily based on this anime. -A track would need to be built with crazy speed in mind, varying types of vehicle types and weight to power ratio classes. -So wheeled (if implemented), hover, *anti grav*?, skid, legs, possibly a flight type as well. -Could do a Newton output maximum with a weight minimum perhaps. Would like to know some feed back on if this would be something everyone would be interested in doing. Have all corporations and organizations large and small compete in this race that could impact the winner in a huge way. Vehicle designers could be awarded contracts for having their blueprints churned out by large military factions wanting the winning design. Drivers could be hired out based on skill shown in the lower brackets and be sought after by the highest bidder. There are tons of opportunities here! There are some key issues I'm sure I'm unaware of that could make or break this idea but wondered what everyone here thinks. (Please remember to be constructive with your criticism, if you think this is a terrible idea please detail it)
  3. We already know of a job system that will be added to DU, but what if we could extend this more? Think about if you are a Universal Leader and your general has command of over 100 or more ships and even more soldiers. Who's keeping track of them? How does one know their ranks. What if in the game there is a way to design a custom system with easy object movement and management in a way to design your own roster and rank system for players. There would also be a way to make multiple of them or add a 2nd folder to label Fleet Pilots or something with specific ranking. No one wants to keep track of that many players. The terran union for example already has 400 members. What if they all became soldiers with specific ranks. No one will want to keep track of them, where they work, who they work for. Having a easy roster/rank system for DU for organizations. No one wants 100 members in one discord group talking at once either to keep track of. There should also be a way to send specific mail to one from there and even ways to add a check up box. Having a checkup box activate if the owner of the roster adds one to send out to specific or all members of the roster to clear out anyone who has been offline or inactive for a specific amount of time. You require a ship build? We have that covered. Need a mining operation set up? We can do that. Maybe its something a little more sensitive, like spying on someone or tracking down a person of interest. We can most defiantly handle that. If you need it done than we most likely can get it done. Now you might be asking, why would I chose Shadow Corporation when I can just do it myself? Well that's easy, we are here to save you both time, and money while providing a service that is top of the line. Instead of doing it yourself and having to spend your precious time doing something why not just have us do it and then you have more time to do other things. Thus meaning double the productivity. But why Shadow Corporation and not the competition? First off, we are not going to rip you off. Gaining boat loads of money is not the goal. The goal is to provide you with the best price possible and to give options, like providing materials in order to further reduce cost on your side. Secondly, Shadow Corporation will ensure that all your expectations, and desires are meet or are above and beyond. We will ensure detail in everything and will inspect all work done before presenting it to the customer. if we miss something then we will fix it at no additional cost. We strive to provide the best customer service and products around. Product Line: We possess a small product line of ship, buildings, and training Ships: Our mass produced ships are primarily fighter class. Ranging form light, and highly maneuverable, to heavier, and overwhelming firepower. If we don't have what your looking for then we will happily custom build one for you. Buildings: Our building designs range from small houses, to large sky scrapers, to production plants. This product line is present so that we can quickly and easily proved services when the customer doesn't want something unique but purely something that works. These designs help us reduce prices because we have ensured that we only include the necessities while keeping it looking nice. Additionally, we know exactly what materials we require, how much man power we need, and how much time it will take to complete. Thus allowing us to accurately tell the customer what to expect. Training: We provide a variety of trainings. From a beginner class to help teach new players the basics. To more advanced classes, like learning how to program basic AI or learning how to best fly a fighter in a dog fight to gain the best odds of survival. If we happen to not offer training in something that you are interested then let us know and we will happily find someone for you that can tutor you. Security: Many customers might be concerned about the security of both their products and contracts. We understand that many customers expect secretiveness so do not fear. We provide on-site-security, ensure contract information is kept secret, and keep things on a need to know basis. On-site-security: Shadow Corporation provides minimal security, free of charge, on all building projects. This is to both protect the project and the employees working. Additionally, if a customer feels that they want more security then that is an option provided. Additionally, depending on the project, we can build items off world and transport it in order to provide both additionally security and secretiveness about the recipient. Contracts: All of our contracts are between the customer and company. We make sure that all information is kept secret in order to protect both the customer and the company form threats. Need to know: All employees are on a need to know basis regarding any business. This is to both continue to prevent information form spreading and to protect the customer. Plans for the Future: There are three phases planed for Shadow Corporation. Each phase is based off how many employees the company possess and allows for additionally expansion. These are subject to change/modification. Phase One: This phase is the begging state of Shadow Corporation. The minimum of the corporation will be an HQ, some outposts, and a small team. Phase one will end when there are enough employees and contracts to need expansion. Phase Two: This phase is a middle phase and will most likely be the longest phase. This phase will be a time when Shadow Corporation will grow quite a bit and hopefully have good standings with many customers. This phase will be one of growth and refinement. Phase Three: This phase is the ultimate phase. This is when Shadow Corporation reaches a point where it almost runs itself. There are plenty of employees, contacts, customers, and outposts to properly support everything. Joining: If you are interested in joining Shadow Corporation then you have two options: Member or Employee. Member: If you choose to join as a member then it means that you can not join other organizations (This helps to ensure trustworthiness). Members will be the core of the company and will help keep everything running. Additionally, because they are the core this means they will be the candidates for higher jobs. Employee: As an employee, you are welcome to be apart of other organizations. However this primarily means you will not have as high of a job. Do not take that in a bad way though as there will be more than enough job options that will fit you just fine. It just means that if your wanting to be a top guy then you wont be able to.   5. I have been following the larger orgs since I am not in one atm and I noticed that there is a new one called IBF (International Banking Federation). This has grown at a rate of about 10/day or accounts that at the start had just created their accounts and had neither profiles nor descriptions. After a couple days, the people joining switched to being names of people all in the same format with a picture of that person. I suspect foul play. (there are also a few accounts once the IBF got bigger that I suspect are real, like SongofStorm & Jamar_ ) This creation of a org starting base by one person spamming alts seems like some kind of cheating or at least breaking the spirit of the community to me because now new people are more likely to move to the org that spammed alts than the many other awesome and honest orgs that are now smaller.

But for reference I will not remove anything said in the original post) (EDIT 28.12.17: After joining ODY, I'd still like to promote the core idea of this proposal. My new goal is to create separate standalone open-source-projects which are loosely inspired by AI, just without the whole organization idea. Players will be able to repurpose these programs for their own use. I only wish for my programs to assist players in their everyday DU activities. For more information refere to the new project list at the end of this post.) ================================================== Original Post =================================================== Greetings, Dual Universe is the perfect setting for a little social experiment. I love boundless sandbox games, like this one, as they really promote creative gameplay. An often reoccurring theme in science fiction is the dream of a perfect society... I strongly believe that the only way to get closer to that vision is to create an artificial intelligence especially dedicated to take all important governmental decisions of a society. All mistakes that happen in a society because of human errors could be prevented! So what would be better opportunity to test this statement, than to actually play around with this idea in a game? Nothing can go wrong here! As you might've guessed this is an organization proposal, even though I don't have a name yet. I think a sort of research institute would be quite fitting. But this can be decided later by vote of the members. The name is actually not that important. Most important is how the AI is actually going to work. The ultimate goal is that the decisions of the AI are as reasonable as the decisions a human leader makes. Luckily DU is still quite limited (relative to reality) according to the possible decisions an organization can make. Therefore only simple programs are needed to get to the "right" decisions. Also important to note is that the purpose is not to micromanage everything the player does, but to only give high level supervision like a real government. So the players will still have private ownership and private sub-organizations e.g. a security service. How it works I've already set up a core framework for the AI based on a Discord Chatbot written in Python 3.5. A direct integration into DU will probably be very difficult as external programs are often used for cheating, and I hope NQ is well secured against this. However some abstract information of the game given through Discord are all that's necessary to make reasonable decisions. The easiest tasks for decision making are reactive decisions. In most cases there is only one correct reaction to a problem, which can be programmed by simple if/else statements. In the following picture I've tried to visualize how several aspects of the game could be handled by the AI: (sorry for the plain appearance, it's only a placeholder which will be replaced with the actual features of the AI) These are only some examples that came to my mind, and not necessarily the most important ones! What I'm really eager to see is how the AI will manage more vague decision processes, e.g. who is a trustworthy ally and who not (like indicated in the 1st picture). This will no longer only be an If/Else decision. The AI will need to adapt its decisions based on previous experience (so called "reinforcement learning"). Therefore I integrated the machine learning library "tensorflow" which is basically the brain behind all Google AI projects. They actually just open sourced it last year! This library is probably a little overpowered for the current tasks, but I'm sure we will use it more in the future! On the economic side the AI will automatically create jobs based on the needs of the organization and pay for every accomplished task. Another important factor would be the spatial awareness and building functionalities. Buildings and infrastructure should be build using predefined blueprints and functionalities, so the AI knows exactly what infrastructure is available. To keep the program simple everything in the world is reduced to an object-type (e.g. city/ mine/ military outpost) which has specific attributes (e.g. storage capacity/ defense turrets/ position). Each of this information has to be kept up-to-date by the players. Security Issues And in here lies a weak spot of this system. Our enemies and griefers will probably try to harm the AI by feeding it false-information, and thereby causing false reactions. So only trusted Members should have access to change critical information... However this will turn to a more and more time consuming task, as the overall information in DU continues to grow. Hopefully we'll find an alternative solution for this in the future. The decisions regarding the further progress of this project will be made by the programmers which are participating in the development of the AI. We could form a sort of democratic "Coders Council" in game, which will also decide on matters where AI is not able to make meaningful decisions. However the AI will always be the official leader of this organization, also for roleplaying purposes. Lore Apropos roleplay: I created a little backstory that would fit quite well to the great DU lore. (read here: https://devblog.dualthegame.com/2016/11/16/official-lore-bible/ ) "During the anti-AI-riots in the year 2145 there were still people who supported the sentient AIs. A group of scientists thought the fear of AI was only caused by human ignorance of their thought-structure. Certainly the phenomenal advancements of the AIs were scary, and made them seem acting strange, but only because the humans could not catch up with their development. During that time it was too late to stop this overhasty destruction of all AI. The scientists had to go underground and swear to rebuild AI, but this time without letting their mental abilities run out of control. They tried to hide forbidden AI technology, but the [UMF] soon discovered their hideouts and purged every bit of knowledge that was left. The whole mankind was under continuous oppression by the [UMF], right until the Great Exodus. But even though all technology was lost, the idea survived. A few scientists of the secret society decided to found a research institute on Alioth dedicated to rebuild an AI from scratch. This time they would be more cautious. Even though they admire Aphelia as she is the only (proto) AI on Alioth, they also fear her because she might be programmed by the [UMF] to make sure the colonists will follow the AI ban that is officially still in place on Alioth." (to be continued) Development Participation This stuff has probably never been done before, so it's very likely that it might not work out as planned. But if you like to develop your own AI, or you'd like to see a leader who is online 24/7 you should join us! It's also no problem if you are already member of another organization. As a huge fan I've created this organization because I realised Dual Universe is the perfect game to bring the Stargate Community together and to have fun with Stargate stuff. Our targets are pretty simple. We will build Stargate ships and buildings like the Daedalus, Atlantis, the Cheyenne Mountain Complex and more. Our activities are exploration (through stargates) and keeping peace in the galaxy. For a Planetary ruling system, we aim to balance the power between the upper and lower levels of government, allowing residents and officials of the planets to live as they wish, with little infringement any of their neighboring planets or systems.   15. So far, no one has joined the Blue Moon Crew, so I have been searching the organizations in the community portal to see if anyone else has created a similar organization, so I could join them. By now, I would have expected there to be hundreds of organizations representing crews of all kinds, but that is not the way it is. I could have missed some, but I only found a couple that might have been single ship crews. (Those were either too mercenary for me or not accepting members.) Most were things like corporations or empires. Of course, there need to be those kinds of organizations, too, but it seems a little odd that more people are not forming crews.

The corporation is controlled by the CEO and a Council of three directors. Each branch is independent to a degree as each is controlled by one of the three directors, but ultimately answer to the CEO. The branches are: Objective Navy: As the military branch, the Navy is responsible for protecting Corporate interests from external threats. The Navy is lead by the Strategos, one of the members of the Corporate Council and the highest ranking officer within the fleet. The Navy controls the majority of the Corporate Fleet, and draws from Corporate personnel with skills particular to any and all aspects of combat. These roles can include: Pilot - Pilot specializing in either strike craft or larger warships. Commander - Officer in command of a large, crewed warship. Crew - Entry level warship crew, manning the critical stations on larger vessels. Security - Infantry unit skilled in ground combat. Combat Engineer - Field engineer skilled in building/repairing constructs in combat situations. Intelligence Agent - *REDACTED* Objective Industries: The circulatory and digestive system of the Corporation, controlled by a Director who is part of the Corporate Council. This branch is responsible for mining and refining raw materials, manufacturing components and equipment, and ultimately constructing ships. While the Navy controls most of the Corporate fleet, Indi Ops controls most of the Corporate shipyards.   20. well first let me introduce myself my name is the flying jackass (eltaradovolador in english) and my goal is to make a pirate organization and i have just to codes that if broken will be punished by death NEVER KILL YOUR COMRADES and WE SHALL NEVER STEAL FROM THE POOR AND DEFENSELESS so where do we get the money you may ask, from evil tyrants empires or any self proclaimed "good" organization while we defend the poor people or anyone in aid we shall be there to help Right now i'm looking for all kinds of players be it pvpers, miners, farmers, builders, scientist and conquerors so for rpers i got a guild backstory because i also want this organization to have some rp i wake up from a long slumber of the cold hard ground thinking about what had my village done wrong to deserve being enslaved and before i knew it i heard a big bang of an explosions nearby our enslavement camp. we were under attack of pirates but why would they attack our village if we had nothing of value, did they just want to end our lives, that's when i realized this wasn't your ordinary pirates they were blue sky pirates who protect the poor from evil tyrants so i grabbed my gun and started helping them with the attack, killing off many bad jailers and soldiers and at that time i meet one of the captains and fought along side him but i couldn't save him from being shot in the back and just when i had lost hope of him and the liberation of my people, more reinforcements came into the battlefield and finished off all remaining forces. after the battle was over i asked if i could join the sky pirates and they allowed me in. this is my story. hope i could make a good rp of a kid joining us leave a message down below if you have any questions and also leave some opinions about how i should continue building this band of pirates or have some helpful comment leave it down below, if you want to join send me a message to and who knows maybe we'll even have a discord sometime so off i go into the wild universe

Here at The Collective, we are striving to build an organization that works for it's members, whether they are an individual or a member of our alliance. After the destruction of our home, humanity has been given another chance here on Alioth; we at The Collective want to take advantage of this second chance by helping humanity achieve great things. To achieve our goals, The Collective hopes to establish itself as a large organization, supported by an alliance of groups working together. Those not belonging to a group are welcome to join The Collective itself - we will have many positions available, from miner to builder, politician to trader. We will have a military division as well, although our main focus militarily will be defense of our territories and alliance members; our stance in general will be neutral, but we will certainly defend ourselves against aggressors. For those groups looking to join our alliance, we will offer many benefits - mutual defense, shared resources, territories, combined recruiting and trade agreements. Whether you are a small mining group or a team of designers that love to build things, we would like to offer you a place within The Collective. We will need haulers to move things and traders to buy and sell things. Every job in the universe will be needed! Those groups worried about losing their independence by joining our alliance need not worry - alliance members are free to govern their organizations internally as they see fit, the only stipulations will be laid out to them during alliance negotiations. As far as governance, we will be have a Stellar Council that is selected by the Archon. This Council will help with running the overall operations of The Collective, as well as advising the Archon. The number of seats on this Council has not been set as of yet. There will additionally be a Board of Directors that will consist of either the leader or an appointed member from each group within the Alliance. The purpose of the Board of Directors is to allow effective communication between all member groups and to vote on issues that affect the Alliance as a whole - the Archon will preside as the President of the Board and will have veto power, with a 2/3 majority required to override the veto. This Board will not have governance over The Collective itself, only over the alliance. All parties interested in joining The Collective must agree to abide by our Code of Conduct, which are fairly simple. Code of Conduct Show respect for everyone, whether a member of The Collective or not. No hackers, exploiters, thieves, bandits, griefers or other criminals will be allowed in The Collective. No attacking fellow members of The Collective or alliance members without permission. Generally, we are an 18+ organization, with very rare exceptions made.   24. Welcome to the winner side! Beteigeuze is a simple structured Organization that, once the game wil be published, focus on spreading terror and fear throughout the galaxy. Beign a part of Beteigeuze is one of the greatest goals one can achive in the upcoming game - not because we would start at a higher or more advanced part than other organizations but because we have the will to achive everyhing we can dream of. Be it control over planets and civilazations or the will to reign the whole galaxy through enslaving planets and races. Beteigeuzes first goal will be the construction of a huge star combat cruises, called "Malecifent" which will serve us as our main base to spread our ideals throughout the galaxy. With this, we will attend to include a large superweapon into the ship, which will serve the purpose to destroy whole citys. This organization contains of simple elements which are divided into the imperial space forces, the imperial planetary forces, the imperial trading forces, the Imperial Mining forces, the imperial Construction force and the Imperial Core. The Imperial Core The Higest of all those instances is the Imperial leading core, which consists of "Supreme Leader" which is the head of this Organization. Directly followed by the Leaders Right and Left hand, which are formed by the Imperial Space forces General and the Imperial Planetary Forces General. A Third position to this is the Supreme leaders Hand, which is personally commanded and equipped by the Supreme Leader with a own flag ship and military forces. The Imperial space forces The Imperial space forces are Beteigeuzes space military which serves to destroy other large space stations and win space battles. It is lead by the Imperial Space General which commands the Second larges Ship in the Organization. This general commands 3 large fleets, each equipped wich one large destroyer and 4 small conquorers. The Imperial planetary forces The planetary foces are Beteigeuzes military section which is working on planets to conquer citys and planets from the ground. This part is lead by the Imperial Planet General, which commands a large mobile Headquater that is able to switch planet if needed. The General commands 3 divisions, which each have about 25 Soldiers in in. This Section will be equipped with large ground vehicles like tanks. The Imperial trading foces The imperial trading foces concentrates on trading with other acceptable organization to gain needed rare resouces and weapons. Lead by Beteigeuzes Bank ministry which consists of the 5 economic Generals. This section will be equipped with 2 large bank and trading cruised which allow Beteigeuze to trade materials and currencys. The Imperial mining forces The Imperial mining forces are based on every planet to gain resouces through mining off planets. They are lead by the Imperial Mineing Chief and are equipped with large mining stations as well as mining vehicles. The Imperial construction force The Imperial construction forces work together with the trade and mining forces to first create our Head-Ship and then all needed space and ground vehicles.   25. Hey gotta say this game looks really promising. I don't sign up or do anything this early for games (not even TOR which I was like a kid waiting for Christmas) however this game can be a game changer haha. I've played many MMO's ranging from p2p to f2p and even p2w. I would say TOR and EVE have been my favs and ones that kept my interest long enough to play for more than a few months. Still have a sub with Eve but DU looks to maybe be the one to pull me away from it. Still lots of time before release, 1st quarter 2017 it the planned point of Alpha release , but I have to say from the XP youtube vids seeing what has been created so far it looks to be the dream game many of us have been wishing for. Most things have not even been implemented into the game so many pit falls may not have been realized yet but compared to many early release games DU looks to already surpassed shortcomings of others. SOOOooooooooooooo ... Dual Universe ... Warfare and Economic aspects ... Yin (Ying) and Yang ... name seemed appropriate. Bad and Good, Destroyer and Creator, Demon and Angel ... this is what I am about and what I see the organization being about. In general for games I love being economically superior in order to support my military superiority. Same with the organization. Looking for same minded individuals who like to create in order to destroy (destroy others of course ) . I value organized individuality; you do what you want to do but have friends for support/groups/big projects. In a universe that looks to be this free and open, I see this organization not limiting the individual's freedom but does ask for loyalty.
