  1. Hello, i can't seem to find any info on the tax for tiles as new players will not have alot of quanta's how much will the tax be for tiles? Also will the tax be implemented for your haven tile from the start or only new tiles for example on Alioth? Will it cost less for personal tiles then for tiles of organisations? i don't know any prices. I honestly know nothing about this it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could shed some light on this before the launch so that i can prepare for this. i haven't played alot in the last months before the launch so any info would be fantastic. Many thanks.

  3. Dear leaders, directors, CEOs and presidents of the industry, today, I am here on behalf of Objective Driveyards to propose a beneficial offer. We would like to propose the creation of a Company-wide Expo to showcase the greatest technologies, accomplishments and designs the shipbuilding industry can offer. Participating in alpha and beta will be free for everyone interested and may help each of us to improve our reputation and make our names known. We ask your participation in this Expo as a joint project between many ship building organizations to make this a project with impact and value. The discord for this event can be found here https://discord.gg/agD4r5X The Alioth Aerospace Expo is an exciting opportunity for ship enthusiasts, pilots, and manufacturers to gather and celebrate the latest and greatest in aerospace technology. When and where will the expo take place? The Expo will be an exclusive week-long event held semi annually in a convention center within the Arkship safe-zone. The first trial expos are slated to be held some time during Alpha and Beta. Why should I attend? The Expo aims to become a central hub of the shipbuilding scene. It is an opportunity for both industry giants and innovative startups to attract new civilian and military customers, by showcasing their talent to the wider player base. How will the Expo be funded? Exhibitions of various sizes will be rented out to attending manufacturers. In addition, sponsorships from outside organizations will be accepted. Alpha and Beta Expo attendance will be free of charge in an effort to raise awareness about the event. How will the Expo be organized? The expo will be organized by an Honorary Committee, made up of attending organization leaders and respected community members, who will elect an Executive Director for each expo. They will handle logistics, organization of the expo, hosted contests, and events. And many others! Check the discord for more! https://discord.gg/agD4r5X

  5. Suddenly the internet does what it does best and spewed forth another theoretical means of space travel: Not only does it solve the gravity issue during space travel but also can reach anywhere in the known universe within a human lifetime. (The only slight niggle, a tiny flaw, is that you need vast quantities of fuel to do so. But let's ignore that for now.) So let's look at the Novarks journey: It took the Novark near on 10000 earth years to reach its destination (let's say 9967ish) So we take the space travel calculator outlined in the above video and plug in (9967 / 2) 4983.5 years in the place that used to be earth. http://nathangeffen.webfactional.com/spacetravel/spacetravel.php Why half you ask? Because this is half the equation: accelerate to near light speed and at halfway point start decelerating. Take any answers and multiply by 2 and we have the full trip. From this a few interesting things crop up: It takes around 33 years to travel to Alioth. At least it seems that way for those onboard the Novark if they were awake. Cryopods would be useful for saving food, but a human (provided they had enough sustenance) would easy live long enough to see the end of this journey in a comfortable 1G. The distance traveled is around 3 kpc (kilo-parsecs). Around 9963 light years. Why is the second point interesting? We know the Novark headed off vaguely towards the Scutum-Centaurus arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. The closest point of the arm is towards the center of the galaxy. So like no man before us we head in that direction. And if we look for a point of interest in that direction at around 3 kpc we find a globular cluster of stars known as Messier 22 (M22) Alioth could be somewhere in there... Or not. Space is very big after all. At least now we know that the trick to near light speed travel is a very efficient fuel source. P.S. A similar observation as far as distance goes was observed here: Though my solution was by far the messier.
  6. I am sure that we have all thought of this to a certain extent, but I am curious to hear it discussed openly between organizations. Because of the fact that everyone is going to be spawning without resources at the arkship at least once (many of us uncountable times as we fail and die somewhere), there is obviously going to be very swiss-cheese-ish terrain around the arkship. Even if there is some kind of boundary on how close you can mine, it will just push the terrain destruction outward. Another thing that will exasperate this is if there are free trial accounts; these users are going to be much more likely to just mine out a section before a percentage get bored and leave. Are there ways that we could combat this? Or maybe, is this even an "issue" that needs to be counteracted? Should we just leave the arkship terrain to be mined into oblivion or take steps to prevent random destruction of the nearby ecosystem? Lots of organizations are going to want to have a presence as close as possible to the arkship; are these shops going to be left on pillars of earth as the rest is mined away?
