  1. DICE is the Dual Universe gaming commission. We are made up of individuals from a variety of different DU organizations all with one common goal: to organize and officiate gaming and sporting events within Dual Universe. Events we will be organizing include but are not limited to: Hovercraft racing and leagues Star ship racing and leagues Arena sports and battles (player vs player- imagine halo or counter strike) (Construct vs Construct- Hovertanks?) (1v1, Teams, Free for all) Treasure hunts Mazes Gambling hall games DICE will not own its own land but intends to use facilities (tracks, arenas, Etc.) built by other organizations. Entry fees for the events will pay for using the facilities and go towards the prize money for the winner of the event. Events will be further subsidized by sponsors. DICE members may not participate in DICE events. Do you have an idea for a gaming event you would like to see in DU? Then feel free to drop us a message. **DICE used to be Interstellar Hovercraft Racing Committee(IHRC), but has now expanded to cover all organized sporting events in Dual Universe.** Here is the link to our community page. https://community.dualthegame.com/organization/dice#tab-description Here is the link to our Discord (Open to all Refs, racers, fans) https://discord.gg/DSqKRjj Thanks for checking us out!
  2. Hi everyone. Until now, we couldn’t manually manage (remove/promote) Legates in an organization easily on the administration side. Since Yesterday, we are able to use a feature simplifying considerably the process. As we already mentioned many times in the past, we (Novaquark) don’t want to involve ourselves in the management of organizations created by players. However, we are also aware that the current (and temporary) state of the management system contains obvious flaws. You know it. We know it. As this is still “work in progress”, we hoped that organizations creators will be reasonable enough to avoid abusing the well-known flaws of the system and would wait that all the rules are implemented before trying to sabotage other organizations. So we are going to state the obvious here: It’s ok to “play a bad guy” and use dirty tricks once all the rules are implemented. However, it’s absolutely not ok to start exploiting the flaws of a work in progress system: this is not “playing a bad guy”, this is just toxic behavior and trying to gain an advantage while not playing by the rules. That’s why - despite our will of non-involvement - we will make exceptions until the full implementation of the RDMS (Rights & Duties Management System) for the Organizations. Why did we decide to intervene? Two reasons: 1) In the current state, a Legate has much more power than in the final system, due to the minimalistic mechanisms temporarily in place. If in the current system, any Legate has the right to promote a member to Legate status by himself alone, in the final system the default rights will be completely different: promoting a legate will be done only with a vote by majority rule, or the right to promote someone will be given to specific persons and not every Legate. 2) In the current state, a Legate cannot be demoted by any mean (even by the creator of an organization). In the final system, default configurations will allow to demote a Legate with a vote by majority rule. A Legate could also be demoted by specific persons who have been given the right (most probably by the Organization founder) to do so. How is this going to work? Each organization is going to have one "wild card": if there is a problem with the Legates in an Organization, you can contact the support team at support@novaquark. However, keep in mind we (Novaquark) reserve the right to intervene (or not) on a case by case basis. Example of a case where we will intervene: Some Legate using the flaw of the current temporary system to vandalize (or generate troubles in) an organization. Example of a case where we won’t intervene: Two organizations have merged in one, and now both creators of previous organizations want to mutually exclude each other from the organization. In this kind of case, we won’t remove anyone. We won’t favorize one creator above another. However, we will do our best to help finding a satisfying solution for both parties. As a global reminder: If someone finds a loophole in the rules in place (that may happen), and this loophole is used to generate trouble and spread a toxic behavior, we won’t stay idle watching the situation deteriorating. Best Regards, Nyzaltar.
  3. I have been following this game since it's announcement viewing it with the potential of being the perfect game for me, initially i was worried about whether or not they could do anything but now i have 2 main concerns after seeing how well it handles stress tests. I, in games rather enjoy being a bit of an antagonist and i find one of the worst things for an open game such as this would be over moderation, people complaining about raids or pirate thefts or the such. I believe that moderators for the game should only really deal with hacking or exploits, everything else (everything done fairly) should be dealt with by players in game, just as perpetrated. For example, a pirate base keeps raiding nearby nations, these pirates shouldnt be hit with a banhammer or threats of it. The nearby nations should half to deal with it, this is where the fun of a social/combat crossover game comes from The second thing is i heard there will be items added in dlc, which preorder packs include these? If i find the both of the answers for these questions favorable, i will be buying the game as soon as possible, aiming for the $120 (one thirty something CAD) package
  4. This is Elector Cale(wars) speaking. Lets say you decided to go blow a planet up on a server like DU. There would be no rules again'st it. What i'm saying is what server wide rules would there be, or would it be all player ran depending which territory you are in. Just like real life. Cloning a human is illegal in every country, but lets say you clone someone on mars. It's still illegal. The point is will there be massive server wide rules, or would rules be dependent upon Universal nations. I would assume the basic NO HACKING or don't abuse exploits would be added to a universal server rule list. IT may not even be. It may be completely player ruled. IF you like this post The Opean Federation offers many jobs for those who join our org. Find our discord to find a job from the varity we have.
  5. **Update : The IHRC is looking for representatives from organizations who would like to be a part of the racing. Individuals who want a say can also join. The representatives will have a say in what the rules and regulations are. Each rep. will be able to cast a vote on each individual rule and reg, once the ballots have been created. I would like to have at least 10 members before creating a ballot. We have 4 members right now. Remember this organization is more of a hobby for you in the universe, you can still be part of your regular organization. So if you are a legate of a org and want to be a part of this please send a rep to us. I don't want to be a dictator who controls every part of this. ** **Also looking for players who will be in the alpha to help with testing, to see what is possible.** About The Interstellar Hovercraft Racing Committee This Organization consists of dedicated members. These members are tasked with creating the rules and regulations, for the hovercraft racing league. Voting by these members will determine the rules. This is not the organization for the racers. Remember we are still creating the "game" we are not looking for the "players" right now. We will advertise when we are ready for racer requests. Hovercraft Racing will be a series of races governed by a set of rules. Open to anyone able to meet the standards. Proposed Rules for the races are as follows and open to discussion --Size of craft to be limited. Limited by a minimum and maximum size. This may include a voxel count and a physical size. --Qualifying Rounds leading to a final ( depending on track size and racer participation) --No weapons allowed --No outside help -- 1 person in control of 1 craft. --Tracks will be large , with obstacles in the way, with natural segments(if flat enough). --Referees will be tasked with player management. --Going out of bounds will result in immediate disqualification. (this will be changed, as opposition is growing against this suggestion) --Like the Olympics, the event to take place in multiple locations. Locations approved by the Committee. --If possible the entire track will be constructed in safe zones. (Not sure how safe zones work. Can others come in and just not damage anything or access certain things. Or does a safe zone not allow somebody to enter all together. Or is this changeable?) - Pilots, technicians and sponsors will form teams - Leagues will build circuits (or choose from independent owners), enrol teams, organize racing seasons, schedule races, keep ranking, advertise, etc. - On the long run, with civilization expanding, there will be multiple leagues (maybe 1 planetary per planet, 1 stellar per system and 1 interstellar) - Qualifying to a larger league would be achieved by competing in smaller ones Leagues should have the same rules, and stating this rules shouldn't be the responsibility of one of them. That's where the committee steps in, as an unique structure. The objectives are then clearly given: committee decides the rules, leagues do competitions following these rules. To have the required authority and stay connected with "reality", I think the committee should have a body of voters made of leagues representatives.
