  1. Provide an option to recycle elements & materials back to their sub components ore's. Each time would reduce the amounts returned as a cost of processing. Perhaps this might require equipment or skills to drive performance levels.
  2. Hi everyone, as I understand it, Dual Universe will have materials with different properties and 'quality levels' (if I misunderstood you can correct me). This means for me that there will be better and worse materials and that, in my opinion, will cause every player to try to get the best materials. Is so far logical and comprehensible. But if everyone tries to get the same materials, understandably to get the most out of his ship, etc., the constructs will hardly differ in color, because logically every material, as far as I've seen, has its own texture. I would not think that's nice if the constructs are barely different in color, and it would be pretty easy to see which material any player uses, and so other players / groups of players could easily relate to the properties and quality of the materials used. So I wanted to ask if it would be possible to dye materials/voxels in the game?
  3. Hi guys! It's my first message on the forum and i'm very happy to be part of this community and especially of the pre-alpha. I just have a simple question, maybe nobody know at this moment but I'll try anyway. How will work the refining of raw material? I think about the process in Space Engineers with a refinery bloc with conveyor to carry the refined ingots into a container. What's your thoughts on that for Dual Universe? Thanks! Have a nice day! 22 days left!
  4. OK, so I understand that some materials are rarer than others, but are there materials that are stronger than one another? I was thinking of this while I was creating another post: AirTraffcking For example, If I were to make two swords, both out of different materials, will one be stronger than the other and break it? Is there such thing as material durability; Example: If I were making more two ships, both out of different materials, will one last longer than the other and In a sense be more durable so long as no other variables besides space exploration are included? Also, Can one material pierce another material; Say If my ship got shot by another ship, would there be a bullet hole in my ship? Last, but not least; Are materials organized in tiers denoting how valuable they are, or is that decided by players? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, Check out my YouTube Channel: MaxedMASKED (Watch, Like, Subscribe, Share, and Grin)
  5. We just got an official heads-up that built ships cannot be taken back apart, and that purchased ships cannot be modified (but can be repaired). Before people simply assume that the prospect of Salvaging ships is dead, lets consider for a moment the following proposed mechanic. Destroyed Constructs drop some of the materials and items used to build them, plus "scrap" which must be re-refined. For one, this gives players something to do with that cheap jump-ship they used to reach the next planet after it has become totally obsolete. You won't be able to pull apart the jump ship, and unless you built it, you won't be able to upgrade it. Being able to destroy it for some portion of what it took to build (maybe 1/4th of its materials? perhaps a skill could increase your efficiency here) would prevent players from abandoning old ships or cluttering the market with them. Pirates will love this, since killed players drop some of their items, why wouldn't a destroyed ship drop some of its cargo? Why wouldn't a destroyed ship be worth SOMETHING?
