We are effectively establishing a method for all the orderly nations which sign on to this type of playstyle, to decide what the "normal" rules of engagement are. Some things require laws some don't.

You WANT to be the most outlandish.  Gonna have to do better than this though.   It's no surprise to anyone that there are changes and/or drama in orgs two years before launch.  Sorry  

You have your own family and as such you have worries associated with that. Chuckling Casket is not a family. We don't need the family drama, neither do you. We're a bunch of people who have become friends over time, with a common play style. Piracy. Piracy is love. Piracy is life.
 
That being said, we do not confine ourselves to that singular play style. We are carebears, we are industrialists, we have a few (or one) complete assholes. We are an all-around "do what you want" type of guild. We do not limit ourselves to the boundaries of a single play style. If you want to play a certain way, we likely have people who feel the same. We also have people who like to branch out and try it all. Regardless of your play style, we protect our own. We help our own. Anyone capable of fighting will mobilize to protect a single member. With that being said remember this, we are pirates and as such there will be people looking to get back at us. The key is not to do anything stupid, that’s why we win and they lose. So if you are moving any kind of material, always have others with you, if you constantly run alone and then ask for help. We will let you die, we don’t deal with lone wolves being idiots here.
We believe in a sort of "military citizenship". This is not to say that everything is rigidly structured to demanding military specification. It means that everyone who is able to fight will fight when the need arises. Regardless of whether you are a miner, or a farmer, or collect some other resource. Maybe you build or design, but if you want to fight, there will be plenty of opportunity! There will also be times where we must fight to defend our members or assets.
 
Chuckling Casket operates on the PMP (pronounced "pimp") system. This is Prowling, Murdering, and Plundering. If we are not actively engaged in defense or internal building pursuits, we will likely be out PMPing to make some fun cash on the side! Or maybe someone has a beef and we get up a group to go help that CC member be a general nuisance to those they have beef with. These aren't mandatory attendance activities. They're completely for fun! In most cases, we do not dive into any venture we make without investigation. For in knowledge lies power, and knowing when and where the shipping lanes will be used, provides profit!
 
Chuckling Casket does not have a charter or a constitution. What true pirate has a document such as those? A pirate's life is free, yarr?! While we do as we wish, we do show respect to those we are allied with. Without your word, what are you worth? We stand by our alliances, but if a single member has an issue with any of our allied groups, we do discuss it. In some cases, we have had others break the alliance, therefore, we obliterated those former allies. In a few cases, we parted on good terms. We believe in all of our allies working together and knowing where they stand with one another. We don’t have time or patience for petty drama.

Unlike in eve, there are no NPC stations to sit them in. theyll exist somwhere in game at all times available to be taken.
 
Everyone makes this sound like it'll destroy the game if you can't steal DAC's from people. I'm not convinced stealing DAC's is useful for the game as a whole. Its simply an interesting mechanic for them, but its not really fair in either direction. DAC's themselves arent particularly fair and making them lootable is just another injustice.
 
Either way is percieved as something not fair. If people with money can buy DACs not fair. If people can't steal DACs somehow also not fair.
I respect NQ's decision to make them non lootable.
 
Why would anyone ever move a DAC, even if its a physical item just use a tag mark it as yours and you are the only one with the right to pick it up, leave it in the Novark field area, and leave. Realized there is technically one safe area.
 
I'm not about strong arming NQ to make decisions or using perceived leverage against them I hope they stick to making choices they believe are logical and not bending because the community clammors for something that is opinion.
 
Great games have been wrecked in both directions, communities asking for questionable mechanics, and devlopers turning their back to community opinion.

Honestly, I don't think your questions or skepticism can be answered here. Any reply will just lead to more questions and "but what if"s. The media released by NQ gives a good indication of what they have now. How it works beyond that is unknown.
 
Are there concessions? Yes. Constructs will not be able to break in half: the two halves will just float together. There are more covered in various locations.

Well, I believe Darius has started working out the full on constitution for the TU, the rights of the people and powers of government.
 
Just as a recap, Darius lives in a EU timezone utc +1 I think, however still this is a global game so hes planning for a global playerbase.
 
The Terran Union is a full on national entity, Im sure theyll cover every range of game play. and by joining youll have access to additional friends throughout the syndicate.

I'm in a toss up between deciding to focus on being a builder, or going all combat. But I guess I can always do both when the game comes out.

DACs are a bit universal so I know well see those. Even if they keep the figurine and other physical goodies that doesn't really hurt anything.

JC's "zoom" may have simply been rapildy changing his position (position in the pre-alpha may be nothing more than viewpoint). If a feature like that makes it into the game (I doubt it), and it is implemented by changing your client's position (like I think it was) you are going to have some very strange situations. If I'm zoomed far in somewhere, and try to have my ship fire from it's position, my ship won't be loaded because I'm no longer there.
 
But again, I'm not pretending to know how this is going to work, and its a little early for you to pretend to know.

I agree let NQ do their thing.Some rewards might come back but they will be more expensive. Exclusives are nice but not important in my opinion.

Fair enough, I was under the impression the rewards were going to be made available post Kickstarter due to:
 
"Kickstarter backers will be able to upgrade their pledges, and new backers will be able to pledge at a slightly higher price"
 
Perhaps I "jumped the gun" with assumptions.
