  1. A hearty salutations and welcome to you. Let us do our best to break the alpha so we can then test the beta, and play the launch. cheers
  2. mmhmm, yes there will be tags and with a legitimate organisation or group of orgs you should be fairly secure. A way to write up the contracts and post them to terminals with the terms and conditions you want personally would be nice.
  3. Yeah this is cool. imagine putting some lights behind, or in front of it to make it pop out. Well done.
  4. A strange wild blue phone box passed me by today. an angry british person stepped out yelling "You can't have him Neo" then it sped off.. what a world.
  5. oh these threads are still going on... Is there anything more valuable left to say.. well Ill leave this here? I also hear you Falstaf, I get pressured too much to buy all the goodies in Free to Play. planetside 2 haunts me still. https://youtu.be/-K7fCQlUhj0
  6. I know csyn seems like an alliance. And perhaps to some degree you could think of it like an npc empire from eve. But it exists so the real orgs. The dua, tu, ody, can play together and against each other. I can't know the full extent and openness each individual member org will have I'm their space. So I don't know if all hubs will be publicly available. Emberstone is special. While Cinderfall will be the controlling governance. I want to connect with as many people as possible. The outfit, boo, acs, empire , individuals, all the csyn orgs, SilverLight etc. To have access to advertisements that noobs will see as they go around the city. Idk if the billboard element well suffice. Or if well have to do physical manipulation of voxels to make recruitment art in 3d. But everyone can benefit from this. It'll be as big as we need to have a market, social gathering places, several themed areas of the city from goody goody areas to the shadowy dastards crag. The basic experience area for da newbies. Yeah we will have to push the envelope of what's possible from the tools they give us, bend the intended uses of the rdms to create a place for vets to chill. And newbies to figure the game out. I am a little overbearing and protective of it because it's my baby and I think it's good for the community if we all cooperate. Even if we're technical enemies at times. I see the people that laugh at the community building and say it's not important. That it will take care of itself, well that's not how I wanted to play I guess I'm at odds with them. I've seen what humanity does when nobody guides things towards positivity
  7. You might be right. I have read the RDMS many times. I've tried to infer their objectives, and I try to keep it as base and realistic as possible. Do you think I overstep myself? just slap me its ok. Is there a power struggle? I thought everyone was pretty friendly with each other. I do have goals to make this place fun and there are some elements of gameplay I have to oppose, but I still accept that people want to embrace those play styles and I want to find ways for everyone to get something from the game.
  8. I agree that the absence of a hard zone safety area doesn't automatically mean the only encounter you have to have is the brash kind. As players and a community we can decide if this game is more successful than dayz and eve. Or everyone can be paranoid and grape each other having cheap fun and low brow humor until it's a ghost town.
  9. Heya peoples! Come check the DUA out again! MasteredRed keeping it cool, everyone in the DUA has been really great people to me on their discord and elsewhere. You would not regret joining, just the fact that D. Diablo is here is worth it. see for yourself.
  10. I do have a reason you, me, and others should pay. The community of this game is pretty great and getting better and more interesting.
  11. Even BOO is welcome to come be a part of Emberstone, but yes it'll be a place of relative peace where we hope to help newbies learn things. We must not let the first player experience be a pile of poo. There will be combat arenas, and well figure out ways to emulate micro experiences of each play style so people can get a grip on the game and various things they can do. If they end up not becoming a Magistrate of Cinderfall, or joining a syndicated member org well thats ok. If they want to join BOO, Empire, the ACS or whatever it reforms into that's ok. CSYN isnt even quite a traditional organisation. its a sculpt-able establishment of order, it allows concepts that we know and like, such as war declarations to exist. a balance between absolute free for all and absolute order. The objective is to make Emberstone a regional trade hub. so people from the outer sections of civilization want to come back and sell their goods there. The resources will come back to Alioth, and with our collective efforts we can finance giving newbies their crash course. Many people seem to want the crash course on the game to be a dayz sim, or eve scam sim. nobody says that cant be your playstyle, but come on give the guy on a week old account a break, you are playing on gullability theyre trying to learn and there someone is gaming their knowledge to scam them, not cool. There are totally honest ways to be a shady dude that arent malicious. I.E. In or around emberstone we want to have combat arenas where people can fight, nothing inhibits a deathmatch from being set up with the RDMS. and nothing inhibits you from running a underground gambling ring betting on the outcomes, sure you could rip everyone off and make a run for it with your stolen 100K, or you could stick around for a few matches and maybe come out with even more while still being a technically honest guy. You have legitimate concerns, and a group of people that wish to see Dual Universe be a great game, a great place, and all around fun and not sucky, are meta gaming and thinking about what we can do as players to prevent the much feared second collapse of civilization. the first being the destruction of earth. Step 1. Make Alioth Important for veterans and trade Step 2. Make Alioth Cool for Newbies Step 3. Encourage newbies to join orgs, The Outfit, CSYN, BOO, RNK, ACS, Emp, Froggies etc or whomever is good for the community. Discourage them from not good orgs. TLDR : Were working on it
  12. I keep an eye on it when i can, I try to post useful responses. I also try to be a humble member of the Alpha Team, and do our duty as community representatives while asking for no special treatments or gifts in return. Everyone should be a little more humble these days. I think the kickstarter will be fine. What I really want is to get the partial character customization stretch goal. I think its hidden for now though, as long as the game continues on though all is good : )
  13. I pledged as much as I was capable of doing. I would be happy to invest though if they wanted to open that up in the future. but sometimes you have to make choices between making sure your own business succeeds, thinking about a house, and possibly switching fields to more preferable type of career/ work.
  14. Unless they adjust the voxels in some way, yes you should be able to create "floating" cities, they would be in a static spot though Alternatively with the anti gravity engines and sufficient power you could make a vessel to serve as a floating city im quite sure. I dont know if i would want to try it with the hovercraft engines, but maybe if you had enough of them.
  15. Im still here for you all, but things keep going missing around here. a shipment was due today of urgent medical supplies for kids with a crippling disease from the 10,000 year hibernacle journey... poor kids... Come join Cinderfall if you want to help get to the bottom of who keep's taking all the medical supplies and food.
  16. Selling characters is not acceptable, plex is a financial system to allow f2p people a path. Novaquark does not have a big greedy publisher pushing their game. Its directly from the Developer to us consumers. Free to play is great for boosting numbers if thats what your game needs, but do you really want to turn the game into something thats all about hooking you in, sucking your wallet, and then hoping you get bored and stop consuming server space? F2P is all about pressuring you into purchases. heres something to consider: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2014-04-09-only-2-2-percent-of-free-to-play-users-ever-pay-report 2.2% of the playerbase keeps a free to play game alive the rest are a number. Personally I like to know everyone im playing with is on an equal playing field. and not behind any form of paywalls.
  17. There could be a lot of restrictions the dev's put into place. as you seem aware, if they put in a limited currency it will find its way to a bunch of corporate vaults and get locked away, the common person who uses said money wont have anything to trade. Resources will be as much a currency as the market money that will use the in game system, whatever that digital money account was. But they arent going to let us mint our own currency that uses that wallet. I dont see anything that stops us from already 'minting' physical money, but itll take up space and youll have to get people to sign onto its use. in a way DACs will also be a currency, being a physical good with real value. physical currencies that will already exist Im pretty sure. #1 DACs #2 Raw Iron #3 Pressed Gold with tags (or any material a org uses with tags attached) I basically agree with your system, I think its already there to an extent, minus being able to specifically forge a new item out of the gold. What you need is a system for taking resources and converting it to the wallet money, or back from wallet money into resources.
  18. How's it going Code24? Objective Drive Yards people, still leading the front in innovative ship design, construction, and production. 19. Indeed, I was suggesting a new thing. A stand alone npc, similar to the arkship ones, that players with a sufficient skill could place into the game. And I really think the dev's will monitor the currency in the game in a fluid way, it wont simply be ok 1,000,000 credits shut it off. What I suggested was that if a player sold 500 iron on planet X the game magically eats those resources. If a player buys 250 iron on Alioth, perhaps because you all mined it out and theres nothing for noobies left to acquire for free, they buy it from one of these npc's and the game generates it. I'd argue it was still player driven because somebody placed those NPC's and they belong to an org, and that org gets revenue from the transactions. The dev's simply dictate what can or cant be bought and at what prices. This would put in a floor on the player run economy, nobody would ever sell iron on the open market for less than what an NPC would buy it at, and that provides a degree of financial security for noobs who need to sell things for money. If they try to control the money to much, then what stops us from bartering and using cargo containers filled with gold ingots that has a tag attached to it marking it as currency of a specific faction
  20. What about to have a system where people who go down the politician line's can get access to plant NPC's around the market unit, the Devs can adjust how much money the NPC's are willing to buy or sell things for and what items the NPC's will buy or whatnot. Let the organisations be able to collect a little tax revenue off of the npc's sales or something. this would let orgs be able to pay player characters. Pro's - Devs can dictate the market floor of economies - Orgs get revenue to pay citizens - Can remove or add resources into the game via game magic - Could set noob NPC's which only buy or sell so much resource and only for 'noobie' players / accounts around Alioth Con's Creates artificial competition for players.
  21. Cinderfall will provide a security blanket to its members to provide security ratings within its areas, cities, and gated space. Within Csyn you will know relative peace and we will even allow you to war Dec other members. Without csyn though good luck, have fun in the free for all. If you want freedom security and respect join join csyn or a member org of the Syndicate.
  22. Thank you for being a supporter, welcome to the forums. Feel free to ask what you like, check out the dev blogs, for the most part everyone is chill unless you try to bring up controversial topics. Anyhow, I assume you like space voxel games, anything in particular you enjoy about the greater genre?
  23. you fellows playing regularly on some empyrion server?
