I like the simple name Novus after the ark. Cause why not?

I would expect the game controls to be bound by the key code itself, not he ascii character it represents. SO the controls will be on the same physical keys regardless of what character they output when typing.

I'm not sure I like this concept - the gameplay is supposed to be emergent and immersive based on player interaction.  If we can just go 'whomp' there's my starship from a blueprint we design offline, the emergent factor is removed - example:  if I am designing something at my base and a band of pirates comes by to shoot up the place, then I have to drop what I'm doing and defend my base and protect my resources and construct that I'm working on...  thats emergent gameplay.  If I can otherwise sit in a protected offline environ ALL the time and design design design its less likely I'm going to be IN WORLD because I'll be busy elsewhere...

No it wouldn't solve any problem:
    - builders would have an unfair advantage on the market because they can just create any ship/blueprint with no reason for them to defend themselves
    - players would still be split
    - less interaction between players, as everyone who wants to build something won't be there
    - less emergent gameplay because orgs and players don't need to come up with tactics to protect their builders

I'm all in for some kind of creative mode in-game as nq said they want to implement, but I want it to be balanced. And I want it to be useful, well thought out and emergent for everyone.

I feel like creative mode would kind of spit on the spirit of the game being single shard : /

There's a NDA in place for us ATV and for every gold+ backer. Period. NQ decides what information they give out, not we as customers.

They have plenty to do now after the ATV test and they have to make sure that everything runs well on saturday - they possibly don't have much time to just write a report for anyone because of the workload.

So maybe people could just chill a little bit and wait if they announce anything AFTER the gold+ backer test.

I really don't know if people noticed but this test on 30th was announced - NO further test. So we get to play on saturday and then we have to wait for the next announcement anyway - and I just make an educated guess here: they will announce the next test plus a short report on how the gold+ backer test went. That's ofc only speculation on my part, but who knows.

I know that everyone is eager and everyone wants information and all go crazy atm BUT please people remember:

    - once you participated on the test on 30th of september you're under NDA and you CAN'T talk about that to anyone
    - give them time: they try their best to make this happen. bombarding them with PMs/questions/wishes on the forum doesn't help them achieving this - it makes things worse
    - think about them and their workload atm - and maybe rethink if you really help them now when you want to know certain things or if you can wait for that piece of info a week or two

Honestly, who cares? People stop playing/backing games for all kinds of reasons. So what. Maybe they have problems maybe they lost interest - it doesn't really matter.

All that matters is: what can we do to keep people interested in DU and to get new people into DU

A creative mode would take away from the multiplayer content. There would be too many people spending time in creative mode when they should be interacting with other people.

This is an old topic, but the graphics engine (Unigine) supports VR, and NQ mentioned they have looked into VR, and that it is not planned for release but it is a possibility if there is enough demand for it in the community.

What everyone is saying is 100% [REDACTED]. Anyway, I'll try and give something substantial.

Regardless of how the test went on the 23rd, it really couldn't be used as a measure of how things will go on the 30th. It is no secret that there are supposed to be more players, from what is publicly available. Plus, it's common knowledge and sense that the first test was to prepare for the larger one, so the game should be a different version as well.

As such, no one knows what game experience everyone will have on the 30th. You have to decide for yourself how worth it it is to you. Are you the type of person that would be really disappointed if you slept through it, then found out later it was amazing? Or are you indifferent? What about if you stayed up, and you hate it; how much would you regret that? Think about your options, measure them up, and decide for yourself.

All I've got to say is, this is how it felt before it started:

This is how it felt during:

This is how it felt afterwards:

And this is how it feels waiting to play again:

Overall I'd say Saturday went like this:
