  1. That would be nice. There is a roundabout way though, look at the system map and compare the distance to planet vs your waypoint, if your waypoint is greater then it is on the other side.
  2. Lies, enjoyment depends on the individual
  3. Anyone know what the change actually is? I can think of a couple questionable uses.
  4. If this happened on sanctuary there would be no way around it since you can't claim more than 1 tile and can't move. So NQ may opt to do something in safe zones only. Technically, all 6 of your neighbors could build high altitude walls on every side. This problem was already theorized years ago in these forums.
  5. I don't think it is too unbalanced right now, but once power is introduced they should require power. Scanners are heavy as hell to move around and pretty expensive so it is a good progression item. I wouldn't be against adding other mechanics to it so it is not simply start scan and wait, but 15 minute to scan is reasonable time imo.
  6. I don't know if you can disable interact on stuff you own, but other people won't be able to use F unless you give permission so they can just open via detector
  7. Did you tokenize the construct? If so you should have a token in your inventory and you can activate it
  8. Some real information: T3-T5 is hardly worth mining on most moons because it is too rare to begin with, let alone someone mining them out. Go to planets for those ores to avoid wasting your time ?
  9. I'm not sure what the max is on my M core. It has 2 large military atmos and a medium rocket engine. I prefer using rockets for heavy transitions instead of adding more heavy atmo engines.
  10. Hmm, I have same cpu and RAM and a 1080Ti and don't have any problem in starting areas other than a lower framerate of 15-20 fps, so I'm not sure what's causing your issues.
  11. Haunty

    2fps

If you ever manually set the page file size, setting it back to recommended might help with crashes. But yeah fps is bad sometimes, it is not optimized.
  12. To see what is possible or maybe inspiration
  13. From what I hear it slides better element to element rather than voxel on voxel, I think I've seem them made with steel columns and window glass
  14. It really isn't a problem yet. Of course in more crowded areas ore will be scarce, and high-tier ores are more rare anyways. But it's not even close to being mined out. If you want to be a miner beyond your Sanctuary claim, you have to use the tools available and progress, it's part of the challenge. There is a new system coming with new planets, can't remember when but I think in interview with JC he said it may be only a few months away.
  15. Yes people make them, they are just dynamic constructs that move up and down a shaft controlled by Lua. People even made space elevators
  16. Either way it needs to be clear to the player. Right now it isn't, because it says safe zone on the screen but it is not actually. There shouldn't be any gray area.
  17. I don't think it is meant to be a long term thing. I'm guessing it might continue for beta until the player missions system is put in, or some other alternative to mining.
  18. It's in there somewhere, might have to remove voxels or elements to find it
  19. Yeah it seems to be off to me, I noticed it with Copper, the ore is much lighter than the pure you get out of it
  20. I've only seen screenshots of 32 threads running DU, all being used but not 100%.
  21. I would definitely move to Alioth one way or another, a or b. Will need to buy a TCU and I'd find a place that is not too crowded so you can find ore in neighboring territories also. If you have someone you can trust to move your stuff, that would probably be the quickest option.
  22. IMO stealing ships without taking possession of the core by first destroying it in combat or salvaging an unowned core should be an exploit, assuming the stolen ship was not intentionally docked by the owner for some ulterior motive. NQ should stick to safe zones being safe. Not an ideal situation though because it can turn into he said she said conflicts that NQ has to deal with on case by case basis. Docking should ultimately be explicitly allowed by both ships' owners with RDMS.
  23. Vertical boosters - Work without atmosphere (on moons) - Have more thrust for their size - Use space fuel - Comes in 4 sizes (xs size) Hovers - Only work in atmo - Uses atmo fuel which is cheaper, no need for space fuel tanks - Weigh less compared to vertical boosters - 3 sizes (no xs)
  24. It doesn't look complete, other than setting up the viewbox there's no svg in there.
  25. Most of the CPU usage is loading planet voxels, and that uses AVX, so I don't know if performance is as simple as adding more cores, some CPUs are more efficient wtih AVX than others, but it's hard to find benchmarks or documentation on the subject
