  1. Please pay attention to real physics. Concrete is not light. Plaster should be a thing to replace the cosmetic need for light concrete but, plaster isn't concrete. Iron is heavy Steel is lighter then Iron but actually stronger, so having HP tied directly to mass is a bad idea. Rare ore based materials, expensive matierials etc should be able to be ligher and stronger. If I build a ship out of carbon nanotubes and titanium it should be a better ship then out of iron and wood and concrete
  2. I actually don't mind the new schem. It works fine, and hasn't actually been that onerous. It is just named wrong.
  3. I agree The Lua system in the game is awesome, and very powerful. I also like the the MU and asteroid mining systems, although I think that the "broadcast" feature of asteroid mining should be removed. You should have to either find it yourself, or have a friend tell you the coords.
  4. You are correct. It doesn't automatically scale to the infinite, and there have definitely been some underestimations of just how much stuff players can dig, and build. and how resources are allocated and priorities are still not completely ironed out, but there has been some serious progress made from the days when you couldn't mine at all because 19 out of 20 server requests were failing. I just believe that right now we are not seeing the entire picture at our end. I suspect that they are throttling the available resources, both to save cash and to test bottlenecks and that some of what we see is the result of that.
  5. Dear Devs, They are now Copyrights not Schematics. If it were up to me, I would change the in-game nomenclature to reflect the paradigm shift. Aphelia is charging us licensing fees. I'm still not sure where that b!#$% gets off thinking she has that right, but that is a short story for another day. Kewe to pensa kopeng? Tordan
  6. The game scales. I'm tired of everyone saying that the game isn't scalable, like that phrase actually means what they are saying. There is always going to be a hard wall somewhere. Right now the soft wall seems to be the amount of server resources that can be maintained over the long hall with the current cash flow, so they conserve. and then we occasionally get a higher load then they can handle. I don't have any idea how well the game would perform if they had twice as many server resources allocated. I hope that constant predictions of doom and gloom from the peanut galaxy doesn't discourage new and returning players once the game releases. I very much want the game to succeed.
  7. I have long assumed that DAC were going to be blockchain. Prob why we haven't seen them yet.
  8. Remember too that an OR gate will act like an inverse relay, allowing you to connect multiple inputs to the same circuit. You can have a manual button close (and/or open) all your doors too
  9. Well now, never believe anything you read on LinkedIn. It's all fabricated for marketing hype.
  10. @Mncdk1 you can already do this. you can directly link doors, but it is wasteful of slots. My recommendation is link a control unit or PB to a switch (drag from PB to switch not the other way around. if it is linked to slot 1 then the command to put in your lua is slot1.activate() or slot1.deactiate(). I then connect a few other elements to the switch, a minimum a relay, then attach all the doors to the relay. ps i you link from a switch to the PB, then the switch will not fill a slot, it will instead turn the PB on and off. This doesn't work with a control unit. Dragging the other way to add to slot works with both.
  11. I agree. It is very immersion breaking, and takes a massive amount of space to hide.
  12. Agreed. I'm trying to plan for both directions as much as possible. We know nothing, we can safety assume nothing. So I log in every day to get my dole, I run my mining units and collect my ore, I blueprint as much as possible in as many different incarnations and materials as is practical. Something will eventually happen. I hope that this game that I love so much survives for many more years to come. I hope for at least one Renaissance along the way.
  13. they did say that "parts" don't need schematics. I'm pretty sure that Pure counts as a part, not a finished product. Warp cells though... that still scares me.
  14. Really just not how it works. The first is a commitment to game mechanics, but if they reset the ENTIRE game before release, then Sanctuary moons will be safe from there forward only. It is just foolish or "lawyer-esk" to try and assume that you could use that statement to "prove" that you have a right to keep everything on Sanctuary even through a full wipe. Next you're going to be arguing that if the game fails, and they close the servers, that they are somehow obligated to keep a server Running with Sanctuary on it for you. Nope. Not how it works.
  15. I agree with Zarcata. The only thing ANYONE wants to know really is: "Wipe or no wipe?", "how much?", "When?" Everything else is irrelevant until we know that.
  16. Thank you for your insights You do know I am not a dev correct? So while I have in fact worked hard to contribute to the game and it's success, mostly as a player and supporter my job is to make suggestions, help where I am able, and sometimes just encourage. Disparaging others seldom helps to achieve a positive result.
  17. You are not alone. I too still hope for the realization of the vision.
  18. ... we could get just a BIT more warning then 30 seconds? Thank you!
  19. Dear Relevant Devs, Please expose the following items from system to screen Lua system.getItem() system.getUtcTime() system.getArkTime() also... Mostly this request stems from the fact that getInput() and setOutput() are capped at a VERY small string doing a system.getItem(id).displayName into the input table before json encoding it seriously cuts into the 1024 characters. It seems silly that I have to build my own item table to look up names from the screen unit, particularly as it would need to be maintained. Of course it would also be very handy if you could just pass a table reference between PB and screen unit, (and databank for that matter).
  20. "Have to have" would be mean, but handy clue from previous puzzle would be cool.
  21. Scavenger Hunts, with solid puzzle clues. With rewards at the end of various segments.
  22. You can disable the jetpack, not the gravity.
  23. I recommend having enough vboosters that you can float your ship at 2g That said. Artificial Gravity should have an off switch and lore. Why do our ships and space stations have gravity at all? what material or element creates it? Why can't i just turn it off on a space station if I dont want to have gravity there (like for a maintenance dock)
  24. Sadly CptLoRes is correct. I have been told by Devs that the chance of glass/plexiglass voxels before release approaches zero. They just don't know how to make it work, and figuring it out isn't a priority to their timetable.
