THE FUTURE OF DUAL UNIVERSE - Discussion thread
Aaron Cain replied to NQ-Wanderer's topic in General Discussions
agree, it was a really fun game, aion followed and i got it free then and played it till it almost killed me -
The planet is horrible, markets are empty, lack of t1 ores, starting there is not just challenging. What we keep getting is ways to make DU even more a sink or overly complex without real issues solved or stuff like ava added. Even in the academical world K.I.S.S should be well known. DU is absolutely not K.I.S.S.

THE FUTURE OF DUAL UNIVERSE - Discussion thread
Aaron Cain replied to NQ-Wanderer's topic in General Discussions
If you want to run a factory, run away from DU fast. I am trying to do that but since 0.23 and mining adjustments its hell. And to be honest, Space engineers with its mods and mining system show it could be done way better, and trust me DU still has more potential as Space engineers. They just need to use it and dump the academic approach with a tyranical AI that runs all players. A game Should be able to run solo with no issues. Doing it in a group should then bring extra profit over sole running. DU limits everything for probably server tech. just in respect: Tabula rasa had about75k accounts and was a sub, closed almost overnight for the low numbers... -
TW and AVA also with only 100 actives at any given time? If they are smart they close shop, revamp the whole game, look at the drivers and reinvent DU to the promisses once made and after that do a 1 month Re-beta and a re-launch. Else we lose DU in no time so discussions about the relaunch has a wipe would make no sense if we are going to loose everything else Bit dramatic brought maybe but there is noway to adjust a running game without taking it down for grand revamp.

indeed, hq tiles were also supposed to be for ever, not for 90 days after last paycheck. -
wrecks at this moment are just BS, its 10 a day? there should be spawning about 10 per 30 minutes to make it a feature. and frankly i rather see npc ships to actually capture then npc wrecks that are just gifts to some.
-
sell them for 90 euros, thats about the cost now, 60 to 120 euros per hex If you actually want to keep it fair to the present owners

Lets fix this to the present DU version: Build a giant space station the size of a moon with your friends _Sorry not possible Create an intergalactic political Empire -Possible to a degree, but there is no real reason to do it Gather along with thousands of others in player-made cities -not possible, server cannot take that and there are no player made cities or cities in general Get hundreds of players inside space exploring ships -exporing? not added/no feature yet Mass-produce your custom designed ships to sell them in-game -not possible, wel you can copy bp, get all stuff in inventory and poop out ships, but thats not what is writen here Become a trader, a logistician or an industrialist - no reason in this version as all is limited and only npc missions make playing viable Program complex behaviors for your constructions - a friend made an auto train, so yep possible Live in a secret base 1km underground on a remote moon - Might be possible, but can you keep it secret as all cores and players are visual Make a name as a spaceship designer or outpost architect - Possible In other words, in Dual Universe, you can invent a new life for yourself in a world without limits, where almost anything is possible. We aim to make a massively multiplayer roleplaying sandbox on PC like never seen before. -This however is not possible and close to being false: The world is filled with unrelentless limitations, invent a new life as a grinder for either one of the minigames and indeed like never seen before as all the features DU would get to make it overclass all other competitors have been cancelled or limited and by doing so all competitors outclass the current DU version. Lets not forget! :

Wow, last maintenance killed DU for me, getting crashes everytime i load. Maybe now is a good moment to get a cashback? Ooh, wait:
-
As long as we get server load Improvements best not to comment anymore as this is not read since nq sees it as non-positive critizism. That said, in Beta it was balanced, now its shit. end comment. oh right,

Planets when? end of missions when? end of schematics when? warfare when? community page when? All scrapped features return, When? Revamp planets when? as they still all look like a 2000 mmo and nothing fancy Roadmap when? f2p when? ooh wait, learned we need to add a smiley, here it comes:

At that point SE has more value add then DU and i will first try to get my money back, through court if i have to even as i don't need the cash but its now principle. At the moment the only Pro DU has on its comp[etitors is the single shard Non wipe idea. If that is gone DU is not more then MS minesweeper

QUESTION: Where is the new Idea and Suggestions Sub Forum?
Aaron Cain replied to Hirnsausen's topic in General Discussions
Probably development has not halted but frankly, the old ideas section was also only for players as none of the proposals ever made it to the game. Illusion of listening is a great good -
A Six Step Guide to Saving Save Dual Universe
Aaron Cain replied to Rokkur's topic in General Discussions
You are doing a good attempt, the main issue is that NQ does not listen, else we would not be where we are now. They killed over 50% of the player base with 0.23 and they did not give a shit about it. even when the advanced test group adviced Not to implement 0.23 they did not listen as Negative comments are not read, only positives. (NQ staff told us themselves) So with that this forum is just waste of time to us all, why still write? because we are all sadistic to our own. -
@Msoul Thank you very much for this elaborate investigation. All the presented data and results are not only very plausible but also give a good reasoning behind the choices made for lighting. Personal i still think the schematics are expensive but within your investigation and my initial question this seems very natural and with that Balanced. Probably only I use 60 L lights on a structure and thus costs are just my way of designing It was a good read and i even learned stuff about lights i did not know yet. Thank you very much for your hard and thorough work!

A Six Step Guide to Saving Save Dual Universe
Aaron Cain replied to Rokkur's topic in General Discussions
"facepalm" What your proposing is to be honest: Space engineers. but then with vr, ooh right thats a mod already and so is the rest. DU is DU, standalone single server. with a game not living up to its promiss, but for some points different then any other space sim -
Yeah good point, I also see a difference in abuse and accidental use. In general its billions of quanta
