Hi and Welcome Archonious.  A few years ago I made an attempt to learn the Russian language for some projects I was involved in.  Lets just say how grateful I am for google translator.  lol.

Nice to see you here in DU.  I wish you well and good fortune.

Ok. Let's imagine, NQ remove DACs. Game released. We play few months. Players already can find black market offers (with fakes as well) for "Want to buy/sell 1 month subscribe for in-game cash/money". And you already get a similar situation. Next few months. There come some websites with offers to sell/buy in-game money.

So NQ creates a bit more expensive, but the safer system only. With it or without, your "trouble" won't disappear.

So as soon anybody of NQ said their word, I can not say my opinion and analyse topic? Was topic closed, NO!
Forum for discussions, arguing, debates and other. If somebody fears open discussion, go in PM.

Even if the whole team of NQ will put their word, it means absolutely nothing to stop any other people opinions to be said.
Sorry, but position "You must not say!" is real bullshit.

I've said: "So calling this kind of moan as constructive opinion is wrong.". Later I fully explained why it is not constructive at all.
Later I said, "If somebody can not deal with counter-arguments, that mean his/her position is wrong or weak.". The solid position must have "ground under the feet".

Once again, what wrong I said?
Sorry, I find continue of this dialog as way aside and substitution of meaning.

P.S: Opinion which differs from my could be wrong. And if I think it is wrong and if I write it is wrong, this mean "My opinion, this is wrong!". It is not "My opinion, this is different", it is exactly wrong. Same about anyone else. If you think, I am wrong, then "I am wrong in your opinion". We are explaining our opinions on forums, nothing more. Otherwise, this thread (as many others) could be blocked by "you are too quick to label wrong".

    Thanks,

People (overall) so stupid, that they very like to dig in the dirty underwear. Nothing new. If they would use (both sides) their power (they waste here) for good (for game designing), this game would be greater on releases

Yeah, I understood that. But my message is more overall. There are so many posts about nothing, people try-hard to get attention to their organisations. Somebody create fake accounts (possibly listed above, I don't judge).

Personally I prefer to spend my time and power to think about holes in game mechanic and think about possible improvements.

Dedicated servers? Hmm, really? How will you run a dedicated Cloud Server for this game on your own?

Oh wait, you won't. Because the lead developer of the game made the tech himself and won't give it off for free so other can make money off of it. Welcome to the world of patents.

Your "dedicated servers", work in the average MMO, which is heavily instanced. You clearly missed the point of this game, you think it's minecraft or space engineers. Well, it is that, but with a global player-base and a single-shard MMO in mind. Think a minecraft server with all the servers that exist in it. All of the buildings existing, in one single server.

Boy, that sounds expensive, seems to me the devs won't go B2P, cause that B2P won't cover the costs.

You clearly missed the memo on taxation, retailers' fees and all those things . You think the 60 Euro by 100,000 means 60,000,000 euro right? Boy, that would be nice, if the retailers and the governments didn't exist (spoiler alert, they do )

Your Korean MMO free-2-play game, is heavily instanced, because their devs can't build their own server tech. Which is why NovaQuark developed their own server tech, so the game has no instances

A server tech you will pay a subscription for. What? Will you set up a private server? Good luck, WoW servers are a nightmare to set up. I don't even want to think how bad the game would run on an off-the-shelf server hardware.

Plus, dedicated servers run on a thing called "donations", so you pay for them when you pay those "9,99 USD" for that piece of armor cause "it's not pay-2-win, I just want to make my life easier from grinding".

If you heard the crack on the back of your skull that reverberates through your jaw and teeth, that's a brick worth of facts hitting you.

    Hi,

Don't know, was this idea suggested before or not, so don't blame me =)))

Ok. I played Space Engineers (and actually still playing time to time). As it looks games (DU and SE) will be on very similar resource base. I mean, players get some resources (refine them, not sure about DU), then players can create some items. But since DU universe is unlimited, exploring will be very important. I don't know how many different resources will be presented in game, but what you think about this:

Each resource (as example Iron - Ferrum) has many quality levels. Fe1 is very bad by default, so items created with this resource will be basic. Fe10 is much better than basic, so items created using this material will be much better (it could have extra armour or higher performance or parameters), Fe20 is high-quality resource, so items created from this material will have much higher parameters or even extra bonuses.

The system could allow mixing resources, but it must punish for that, as example downgrade 60:40. This mean 100x Fe10 and 100x Fe20 will give 200x Fe14 as final resource.

So this system could be easily integrated into a procedural world (IMO), but will generate the huge potential for exploring. Of course, high-quality materials must be very rare. So the player will spend months to find all the best resources. The overall idea also shows motivation as items bonuses when using higher quality resources.

    What do you think?

P.S: Ups, probably wrong forum =))) If there are moderators, could you please move it? =)))
    Thanks,

That's really not true at all.  The grade of materials makes all the difference in the output of the product... so it's another layer, on TOP of your refining process, that should make a difference.

If I take the time to gather grade A pure iron as opposed to grade C pure iron, there should be a difference in the output of the product I'm making. If it's a gun, maybe more durability. If it's a radar dish, perhaps it's higher density.

But beyond quality/grade, I'd like to see materials have properties as well - for example, weight, conductivity, strength, etc And different combinations of those materials could make them the right choice for project A, and a different combination of those material attributes could make a better choice for project B.

Oh yeah, that could be the pain. Somebody used my nickname in reddit and twitter. Seen my nickname in few games. But most funniest, when I created nickname, there was nothing ininternet.

But I don't think we need worry about this, game developers use site systems for ages. So your nickname on forum or communuty site will be account for the game. I'm nearly sure about that.

    1) Mining will be part of the game, so yes.
    2) We don't know that for sure, but so far my impression is no welding, but like minecraft.
    3) Yes
    4) Planets are going to be more distant than the ones you saw on that video. They're close actually just to show them. The station was moved closer too. Planet size is not going to be realistic, but smaller, to increase social interaction and space travels.
    5) Third person view is planned.
    6) Constructs will have mass. We don't know much about differences between planets, other than aesthetical, but I bet that there will be some kind of challenge.
    7) They still have to add a lot of the so called "elements" (interactive blocks), at the moment the main game features are in place, they're creating the gameplay now. This means that we will probably see blocks to connect or land a ship, in the future.
    8) I'm 99% sure it's planned.
    9) There are way more tools in the voxel editor, you didn't see them all in the video, you can find more information in the relative devblog, or in the forum.
    10) Constructs will have collision, as you saw in the video. We don't know yet if collision damage will be a thing, since it depends on the amount of load this will cause on the client and server. Opening holes into an enemy construct is something the devs want to add (to board it), but they're not sure how, because a full damage system is, again, something that could be too much for the game to handle, considering that they're planning huge battles with thousands of players.
    11) We don't know that so far. However we know that "repairing" is something important enough that will require a player on a multicrew construct, to take care of.

Archonious got a reaction from Cybrex in Questions, Feedback about latest gameplay video
    Hi
I was really happy to see early pre-alpha gameplay video and hope to see more in future. I fully understand, many things could be changed much, but I can speak about what we see.

    1. Voxel Editing. I hope it was just to show how it will be changed. I hope to see some drills and other instruments for work. Of course, not 1 or 2, but many, when some allow increase radius, some allow getting rare resources and other. So basic question, will you have special instruments for digging?

    2. It is a different model of construction I have seen before. Played Space Engineers and Robocraft. Both games based on cubes creations, so if you want to build a car, you need to use many armour blocks to create the frame. You model is more simple and more complex at the same time. So if compare with Space Engineers, will creating "Ship or Station" require welding? If yes, then how it will work? Video represented (as we call in SE) creative more, when you build everything instantly - want a Huge chunk of armour, just do it. So will final version contain any kind of frames, which should be welded by instruments or special ships modules?

    3. Colours - that is very important part of the creativity. The video didn't show anything about that. There were few construction parts in beginning, but all of them same colour - dark brown (same as material). So will colourful palette be available?

    4. Next thing, which is not about construction, is speed and acceleration. I find it too fast (both). If I'm not wrong, the station on video was about 8km far from the player, but it was reached in about 30 seconds (nearly speed of the sound). So actually, the player can fly around the planet in 10 minutes, which make but strange feeling. I don't speak about space fly. My opinion, speed in the atmosphere must not be so huge.
Same thing about acceleration. I could understand it was small ship with big thrusters. If that true, it is ok. But I didn't feel the effect of fly, honestly.

    5. First person view (FPV). The first thing I was focused on. When you left the forest and was on the grass field, I got feeling the camera is too low, grass nearly hit the player face. That is just feeling, maybe that is kind of high grass, don't know.
If I'm not wrong, whole video (except GodMode) was FPV and no any third person view camera. Just a question, is it planned to have FPV only? As I know, some players simply can not adapt to it.

    6. The planet's gravity. All objects have gravity (overall), which depend on their mass, size and other (I'm not a scientist, so we just discuss). So will planets have different gravity? Maybe some planets will require special abilities and equipment to survive on them.

    7. When you landed on the station, I didn't see any landing equipment, like legs for lock or connector-dock. So Is that in a plan to release these elements to the game? Or maybe they are already in the game, but simply wasn't shown?

    8. Docking ability. As maybe some of you, played Space Engineers, players can transfer items and resources from one ship to another one very easy, all you need to connect to each other.

    9. And back again to editing. Just because editing is very simple (click and done), it could create massive troubles to players. Do you plan to add "Undo/Redo" abilities? Ofc if voxel creation will have frames, it will be not a big problem for removing unnecessary body structure. But bigger problem if player deletes something by mistake (it could be hard to make flat floor again (as an example). So this construction model little bit confuse and disappoint me.

    10. As another part, damage from weapon and crashes. How it will work at all, since ships do not have body armour parts? Gatlin gun will create little holes in armour? Ok, that could be an answer, but next question then...

    11. Repair. How will players repair damaged parts? It could be very hard to fix every minor hole from the bullet (if that will work this way).

So yeah, some of these presentations and attempt to understand how it must work, make me really confused. So if it possible, could you give some answers on that?

    Thanks
    Archonious
