Piracy is thievery. Pirate is a parasite.

Players being robbed will not play.
Players who are forced into PVP will not play.
If they don't play, they won't pay the subscription,
There will be no money there will be no game

    Each Pirate destroys the game.

you aren't forced to do pvp missions....

  2. NQ,

PTS didn't include the supposed flotillas.  We need answers now!  No ask aphelia in sight.  DU PvP already has a huge amount of faults that make it difficult to learn and boring to play with.  We REALLY need this system to identify enemies easier.  It's so annoying to sort through a bunch of ship names when in a fight.   Also enemy ships should be RED!  Not the same color as your ally.  This is sad that PvP has so many faults that could be fixed easily.  You can't even see enemy speed and direction unless you have a lua script, that should not be necessary.  Another barrier to entry for pvp btw!

    Hello.

I'm looking for an information how does the taking control over an alien core works. How can I take an alien core from other organisation.

1). How can I attack it?

    With a pvp Ship

    2). When Can I attack it ?

Anytime.  After you successfully attack it, it'll be put into lockdown for a number of hours and you'll be given a time in which you can attack it again.  During lockdown you can't attack the core.  This notifies the defender of your attack and gives them the chance to rally up forces.  Once the lockdown ends, you have a small window of time to attack the alien core.

3). How do I take it down ?

Lots of pvp ships, lots of focus fire  :)

4). How do I take control over it ?

Once you destroy it you need to claim the core and put a shield on it.

I couldn't find any articles or videos explaining this topic and in game F1 tutorial has no information about it as well.

    Please Help :)

  4. Wow, I didn't realize this was still going.  Time for some replies I guess.

    So let's break that down.

    - Warp safe zone to safe zone

That is just traveling from point A to B, same as teleporting in a fantasy game.

    - Want to do asteriods? Bring a cheap ship or do safe zone asteriods.

So you are saying that for anything but lower tier mining, you should expect to be pirated at any time and lose your ship?

People on this thread keep pretending like getting T5 is some impossible task, when in fact it is pretty easy.

    Asteroid Mining

Again, a throw away ship costs very little to most people.  If you go to an asteroid that has been discovered at least the day before, you have a very low chance of being caught by pirates.  And most likely that asteroid has not been 100% completely mined.  Many people just go discover an asteroid, leave it, and come back to mine it the next day.

    Trading

Can't get the T5 normally?  You can trade for it.  Get some factory going and start selling some items.  Yes at first it will be slow at first but soon you'll be able to trade for T5 easily once you get some sort of business going.

    Auto-Mining

You know who owns most of the T4/5 tiles?  It's not PvP players I can tell you that.  People are already make tons more off of Auto-Mining than asteroid mining.

    - Doing alien cores? You should have a pvp ship for this.

So 100% PvP only game play then.

It's definitely not a 100% PvP game but there should exist mechanics like this in the game.  Very early on it was suggested that we would be fighting for resources.

    - Well yea mission runners are pvp targets  that's what they are out thier for, and why the reward is so great.

And this time you are saying that the purpose of running missions is to be cannon fodder for PvP players?

And no, the reward for missions is not that great when you consider the time spent AFK and cost of losing ships to pirates. Especially for people playing by the rules and not misusing the system.

Missions have had a huge changes.  If the wipe happens, then the missions will be worth it.  You don't die every time you go out.  We only a 2 SU range.  Learn to take a different route, don't go down the pipe, make adjustments to your route, when your escaping that first 2 SU away from the planet you need to make a turn after you get 2 SU away from the safe zone, otherwise you might get caught by a trajectory script.  Most of the people doing missions make it out 9/10 times.  and by the time they lost that one ship, they can already purchase 10 more of those ships.  seems worth it to me.

So how exactly is this not already heavily tilted in favor of the PvP players?

Because some of the richest and wealthiest players are not PvP players.  They focus on money making schemes, starting businesses and focusing on other things.

  5. 1 - Seconds into the video we already see dog fighting and close quarters combat.  You can only see this type of combat if you're less than 10km away from each other.  Can't really imaging a fight over an alien core being this close.  I don't see NQ showing off how true combat is.  Just this glorified dogfighting and close quarters combat that they keep peddling to us.

2 - Gives off the feeling that the alien core is going to be armed with weapons and a big crew is going to defend it from the inside.  Any PvP org wouldn't be using the alien core to shoot their weapons from because all the enemy has to do is shoot from one side and half the weapons wouldn't hit them.  Everyone is going to use ships to fight with.  I don't mind using the ships, just how the warfare is actually going to pan out.  Maybe give the alien cores some special gunner seat to allow more guns to incentivize that vision from the video

3 - The description says Deckard and his crew go into hostile PvP space.  Deckard is a true care bear and would never do such a thing.  Although I can see him losing the station pretty quickly so that's probably spot on.

The video had some good parts in it so I'll say that.  Although this is an RP video and probably shouldn't be taken very seriously, it does get shown to new people so I think there's some responsibility in showing how dual universe actually works.

I've made my point clear. It's obvious that people arguing against it aren't actually reading any of it, and are instead knee-jerking about "oh, no! He's attacking pirating! All hands on deck to argue against whatever he's saying should change!" I won't post further, because it's pointless trying to argue with people who won't do the bare minimum of reading the suggestion, or the further explicitly-stated clarifications/reiterations.

Same could be said about you. Refusing to read or learn any counter-measure, just insulting the people responding to you.  Enjoy your day.

Yes, people would rather just cry to NQ instead of actually learning a valid strategy...hence the nerf that pirates cried to NQ about to create the full-stop and spin-up of warp drives....

I offered a reasonable balance to an unfair advantage. That's all. Take away unfair advantages like being able to warp immediately. Fine. But balance it out so that there is NO unfair advantage. It's not whining to say "that's an unfair advantage, here's a fair solution," especially not when pirates said "that's an unfair advantage, so take it away and give us an unfair advantage."

lol that warp drive was broken before NQ fixed it.  People were able to warp instantly before getting shot so please don't bring that up as an example.  Joke after joke from you.  Also maybe your hauler guy just had someone on his ship, that's an exploit but I think NQ may have fixed it recently.  That or someone is using a trajectory script on you and is flying like 20 SU ahead of you to setup an ambush.

Maybe if I put it into simpler terms, you'll understand the problem:

Kid #1 has a shiny toy. Kid #2 has a shiny toy.

Kid #1 whines to an adult that kid #2 has a shiny toy that makes it so kid #1 can't have fun. The adult takes away kid #2's shiny toy, but lets kid #1 keep theirs.

Kid #2 then says "that's not fair. If you take mine away, you should take theirs away, too."

That brings us to now, where kid #1 is saying "that's not fair. I should be allowed to keep my shiny toy and have fun, even though they can't keep theirs."

Except that we're talking about kid #1 actually stealing from kid #2 after beating them up for a lauhg, with almost (almost) nobody who actually stands up to people like kid #1 because there's almost no incentive to, and plenty of incentive NOT to (it's not cheap, there's basically no reward, etc). Like you people defend your shiny toy with "stop trying to take away my shiny toy," the "best" response is "just warp directly. Don't slowboat at all, because they WILL catch you before you can even respond. Here's some videos proving my point."

Complaining about balance is a [filtered] move after all that whining to gain an advantage. Sure, you can slowboat out of the pipe, but that just leaves the STANDARD threat of pirate attacks, which aren't uncommon already. That STANDARD threat should be the only threat, because that forces pirates to put in the effort to chase people down, which is only fair given that the people they troll have to also put in the effort to fly for multi-hour trips.

I don't think people realize how easy it is to avoid pirates if you just fly outside the pipe.  Sure you'll get caught once or twice but 9 times out of 10 you'll be safe.  It's funny how people would rather just cry to NQ instead of actually learning a valid strategy to avoid pirates altogether.  Everyone only has a 2 SU radar which isn't that far.  If you're already 2 or 3 SU away from the planet and you haven't been noticed (and not going down the pipe), then essentially you're free.
