    Now, is that some kind of a test?
     
    For in landmark the base voxel position was south/east/up. And it is necessary to define it, since any voxel based shape only comes to existance by drawing lines from a base voxel to it's 7 neighbour voxels in pre defined directions and filling the space between them to create a visible surface (so in the case of landmark, to the north/west/down neighbour voxels).
     
    To say: If you place the smallest cube in a voxel-world - that's not the voxel. The voxel is one of it's corners, building a visible cube by drawing lines to it's neighbours (the other corners) and filling the space between them. That's not a glitch, that's voxel technology basics and inevitable. Just saying.

    I was in Landmark too.
    Was fun times. Till sony sold it and the ceo fucked it up.
     
    :3 could have been a perfect mix of building game + everquest next adventures.
     
    I hope that we will have as many or more choices to manipulate voxels in here someday. Not much info on that out there yet.
    And most official realesed  pictures are clunky :3.

    So this was a project i started in Landmark right at the end of Beta.  I was going to get back to it eventually after the last wipe but never got around to it.
     
    It was meant to be a sort of Scifi condo that would be part of a modern city in a hostile icy environment.  I know weirdly specific.

    Well, I hope there are a few of us out there. And if you see an Alicorn flying through space ... that'll probably be me. And I don't give a ship how idiotic this will look. I WILL build it again. And this time i will make it FLY! Hah!

    Surely we all have an interesting, hopefully funny, sometimes maybe exhausting, somtimes enlightening year behind us. Regarding the development of the game ... and maybe even regarding the developmet of ourselves.
     
    May the new you year fulfill all the promises of earlier years ... and those we didn't even dare to dream of yet.

    Wild West Online had its first test recently, as far as I know they had a FFA PVP. 
    after the test they ditched it as their bounty concept could not stop griefers and team killers:

    Fiverr is a site where you can request freelance work for as little as five dollars. You might find someone willing to make a nice logo for fairly cheap there. (That said if someone from the community gets the chance to do it instead that is always a bonus)

    Why not post your preliminary sketches, and ideas (colors, and themes), and see what people run with?  I’m not a design specialist, but sometimes do a thing for the heck of it, but I’d like to know your direction before taking a stab at a design.

    I really REALLY want to enjoy this product but so long as they continue to have "Pre-Alpha Access!" at hours that are unacceptable to anyone with a lick of creative thought in my area, i'll just have to wait another year for the beta to get released
     
    No...i'm not getting up at 6am on a Saturday just to have a few hours access.  Call me silly but as a gamer, if i'm up at 6am Sat morning its because i haven't gone to bed yet.

    Welcome to the 3D Preview Suite.
    This is a only a short introduction for you guys - have fun!
     
    What is this "3D Preview Suite" ?
    We developed this suite to simulate different ship designs - you can look at the ship from outside but can also go inside and inspect every corner of the craft!
     
    Why we are doing this?
    We only do this for one reason : we want to help the community. Our suite hopefully inspires them to grand designs and give them an idea how to design their next ship.
     
    The software we use :
    We utilize the magnificent, though old and rusty, power of "Blender Game Engine" which's totally sufficient for this program.

    It's not currently possible to "paint" voxels a different colour.
     
    There is a tool that will allow you to change the material type of any voxel in a construct, which is shown in the tutorial video. But using that "feature" means that if I want a yellow spaceship, I have to replace all the alumin voxels with "yellow plastic" voxels. My spaceship will now be yellow, but it will also be made out of plastic, not out of metal....
     
    So, yes, as things currently stand in DU, all constructs made out of the same material will be the same colour.
     
    I certainly hope there will be a way to "paint" the exterior of my construct, even if it's only limited to the outward-facing surfaces of the voxels...

    Now, let's see who's gonna come up with an Inglorious Basterds group of only Jewish people, then Cambodians who will form a Totally NOT Camarouge guerilla army and, of course, Japanese who will form a Totally Not Imperial Japan of WW1 (not WW2 guys, even though the Japanese were on a warpath from 1900s to 1945, so technically, the WW2 JApan was WW1 Japan). I can't personally wait for the Imperial Britain isnpired Birtish only army that will attack any smaller faction and of course, the Cartel inspired Latin american groups. Ah, how fun it is to segregate. Why be inclusive when you can be segregated.

    I personally can't wait for the Mujahedin inspired Afghani organisation. No no! Not the ones the USA fought in the early 2000s !!! I am talking about the Mujahedin the USA trained in the 1980s to fight the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan !!!
     
     I know at this point you see the problem with your suggestion, but let me continue so I can become contextualised.

    Warden. I like you man, but here's the problem.

    Your idea sounds a LOT like WW2 Germany. The very thing you just described, is the etymological definition of fascism - a desire to "turn back the clock" to the "good old days". You know, good old days like...  WW1. Ah, who can forget the stories about an aspiring Lance Corporal who was told to shave his moustache so he could wear his gas mask, as the Germany was about to unveil Chemical Warfare for the first time and the Lance Corporal outsmarted his C.O. by making his moustache fit the gas mask by making it look like a toothbrush in shape. 

    Ah, good old WW1 days. Cause, you know, when you say "World War 1 Germany inspired group", people will say "Yeah, WW1 Germany were the good germans, I have no problem now, who cares about the Chemical warfare, or the fact, you know, the desire to bring back WW1 germany was what led to Hitler's rise to power, Warden's German only state is awesome. Yey Space Nazis!".

    And, let's be honest here, you are neither naive nor foolish, you know that it will end there. People watched Wonder Woman  recently saying "oh, she fought Nazis as well like Captain America?". Do you really think people see a German in Black and Red and think "totally WW1 Germans, those were not Nazis" -- even if to begin with, only 5% of the German army in WW2 were registered members of the Nationalist-Socialist party AKA the Nazis, but who cares about those things when you can blanket statement an entire army as "Nazis", right?

    Also, do you think people will see this :
     
     
    and say "totally WW1 Germany, those were the Okay Germans. Wait, didn't they start that war and caused like 20 million confirmed deaths?", then immediately go like "yeah, let's just shoot them and never ask questions, F those germans and their shenanigans".

     
     
     
    Having a "German DU Community Organisation" for people of the same language to communicate in-game, sure, it can work. Having a german only organsiation? Sure, many people do that in EVE, for the sake of convenience on comms and operational hours.

    But nnne of them I ever seen went like "oh, btw, we are the Space WW1 Germany guys". Those who did, got insta-gimped. Nothing incites cooperation than beating on "WW1 Germany inspired" Germans. It's a sad fact about mob mentality.

    The very notion of "World War inspired German-only Organisation", is like putting a target on yours and on every other german's head in Dual Universe. The very notion of "Imperial Germany of WW1", devalidates any and all good intentions you may have beyond that sentence.

    Germany has a lot of stigma following it as a country, don't accumulate more reasons for people to insta-grief an entire ethnicity on "they are part of the Space Nazis" principle alone mate.

    P.S. : I hope HuschHusch does something without "WW1 Germany" in the mix.

    With the advice Twerk put in there, i agree. Focus on the purpose and community aspect of the desired org and be more subtle with its inspiration and you'll avoid a few of the problems he brought up.
