    I'd really love to see shields of some kind. On ships, I think it's a given that many people would like that in some form, but on buildings, yes I'd really the ability to do that. I wouldn't expect it easy to either obtain or build the technology for it, but it's something I'd consider worth obtaining.

    My initial feeling is that every aspect of the game should have challenge, but shouldn't be intimidating to the point only real-life coders want to jump in.
     
    Just like I've said at some point that building shouldn't be so complex as to be intimidating to newbie builders. There will always be people who excel at something, even if the entry level is set low, and no one should feel like their sense of expertise is threatened if there is a little helping hand to coding-newbies, because if you're good at it, what you can do will set the bar to high, and those with some help to learn the basics, but not particularly talented at it, won't hit that bar anyway.

    Hi,
     
    This is rather question to our community manager (I summon @NQ-Nyzaltar !), but you can respond too
     
    Community portal is fun and very interesting in terms of community growth, but it lacks some purely technical features - for me two main concerns are: impossibility to edit replies in topic, lack of customize titles for corp members (who is director, who is legate, who is line member and so on...) and "flat" structure of organisations - we already have have powerful coalitions, but they function like "normal" corporations, being different type.
     
    I can point few more requests, but I rather would to know where I can address them? To special topic (like this one , PM Nyzaltar, or some other way? If someone can point me to right direction, I will be grateful.
     
    PS: In absence of such topic about community website feedback, I think that we can temporally post our propositions here

    Well said Wardion2000. You might be right...well and if this is the case I admit defeat.
     
    I was under the impression that Novaquark was creating a single shard sandbox where hundreds of thousands of people can build cool stuff, explore,  create worlds, governments and factions... and to possibly make some money on the side with a healthy fan base existing of people who adore many aspects of game play. I must have missed the Dev Blog about how the game is designed to solely cater to people who code and that the other aspects of game play take second stage to coders and that Novaquark is ok with a 20 year plan to recoup the investment cost of making Dual Universe due to their infinitesimal player base of coders.
     
    I am sorry for misunderstanding that Novaquark was trying to appeal to as large as player base as possible. The...the only I can't figure out is why they would need all this server tech designed to hold thousands of players in a small space. I don't understand why they felt the burning desire to change game engines to a game engine that handled a larger player load. I don't understand why some of us were invited into alpha to test the building tools as the prolific builders we are.
     
    I am confused...all of a sudden so many things are not adding up.

    Dual Universe is a single shard MMO where all the players take place in the same universe. The players construct most of the spaceships and buildings in game and set up their own governments and build their own cities. Exploration will be key, PVP will be key, building will be key and groups of people working together will be key.
     
    No Mans Sky is a single shard game that has a universe as large as the real one. The likelihood of running into another player is worse than winning the lotto, its essentially a 1 player game. No Many Sky does not allow for building, does not allow for creating a city, world, spaceships or anything. Its an exploration game at heart and little more.
     
    I am not disparaging No Mans Sky, it looks like fun, but the games are so different it's kinda dumb that the media looks at them in the same way.
     
    At the end of the day, Dual Universe will allow you to play with your friends and meet many more, No Many Sky....not so much.

    Star Trek is the property of  CBS and Paramount Pictures. You can not create a Star Trek game inside of Dual Universe, they are not your intellectual properties to use.

    It is perfectly clear. We are visited by some kind of extraterrestrial alien lifeform, and it try to communicate with us. But due to heavy pollution of Earth atmosphere, signals come somewhat distorted and obfuscate.

    Because it wasn't in 18 point font i actually read Captain's entire post.  And i hate to say it but i agree.  
     
    Some games work great on a console.  But this definitely isn't one of those games.  Games that are designed to play on a console are a lot of fun to play and i prefer a controller for some games.  But a game like Dual is going to require more then just a controller.
     
    And also like mr twerkmotor said, finding a setup that works for you makes a huge difference.
     
    I highly recommend a fancy mouse like a Razor Naga with the 12 button thumb pad.
     
    When you have a mouse and keyboard that you are used to, there is really no better interface.  At least until we can control the games with our mind...

    There'll be big Organizations coming in, no worries there lol. It's early days, best we start strong early on and build a sturdy foundation for the challenges yet to come!

    Well the old seafaring pirates of old are long gone. We're not that kind of pirate, and that language is (thankfully) long gone. We're a less rum-strewn bunch. 
     
    We're the future or present, as it were, freedom fighters.

    I was putting together some slides for a class I needed to give about a year ago, and one of my keywords I used when I was researching brought up Dual Universe.
     
    Took a peek, got interested, joined the forums. 
     
    Haven't looked back since.

    I became interested just hearing about the game through word of mouth.  I've popped in a couple of times over the past six months or so.  I finally joined up when I was invited to join up with COPS.  I didn't realize this game was getting close to showing off anything, let alone less than a year from Alpha. 
     
    The building is why I am here most of all.  Been messing around with voxels in another game and this one looks like a LOT of what is missing in that one will be included in this one.  I"m very excited about the freedom it looks like we'll have in this game  concerning how large we can build, where we can build, being able to team up and build with others...and so on. Very excited.
