  1. Welcome Metallical! It's amazing how many Landmark players there are here.
  2. Hehe! I've never seen or heard of a game before that gave me the desire to own an occulus rift, but Dual Universe just sounds too good not to experience it in the best way possible! *starts putting money into piggy bank*
  3. For me the biggest gift is being part of the Alpha Team, there's something deeply exciting about a new and flourishing game, not only seeing it grow, but being part of that too. I have a lot of faith in the devs of Dual Universe, there is so much thought and quality work to see already before we've even actually tested the game, I know I'll do my best to give feedback and input, and it seems there is enough variety in gaming flavours and experience here amongst us, that we'll all offer lots of variety in our feedback as well, which is no doubt a good thing. I don't desire to be treated any differently to anyone else, I just ask for a fun game all said and done! Anyone who wants notoriety will likely be able to find that in various ways in the game itself eventually anyway. I do like cosmetics though, which is why I think a unique outfit would be nice, anything else is just a bonus.
  4. It's all in good fun, and I'm looking forward to a fun, friendly community.
  5. I can wait! The opening post sounds amazing. Can't wait to try out my nanoformer! I like the sound of the temperature differences on planets. I wonder if that means different heat sources will aid in keeping us warm. Really enjoying the fact there is a strong survival element to this. I wonder if, similar to Minecraft, night brings out more dangerous creatures. Might eventually have to get an occulus rift for this game.
  6. I'd love an Alpha Team cosmetic outfit, has to be super cool though
  7. Happy New Year! Looking forward to a great year ahead!
  8. I think Nyzaltar is a warm and friendly presence. Some community managers try too hard. Nyzaltar is cool He relays information well and seems down-to-earth. He strikes me as approachable and that's super important to me. Back to the topic at hand I was told about the game by Kiklix. Could barely believe what I was reading. This game sounds phenomenal to me. Right down from the quality of the art and blog information, the details and features. I'm hyped that's for sure.
  9. Could be fun to have a chess or checkers board prop that we can place in our ships or other abodes, or just find them in Inns or other social hubs, then you can invite someone to play a game of chess or checkers. Or something more imaginative lol. A space monster combat or battleship board!
  10. I'm not sure I've played an mmo game where a marriage mechanic was part of the game. I've played games where role players role played it, but I never did. I do recall Lord of the Rings online had an adoption feature. You could literally adopt another player, which was great fun as a role player. I had a son and an uncle, and strangely it created a funny little 'family' inside our small guild. I don't think such a feature was ever needed in that game, or even made sense really, but it was fun. I have however played single player games where you could marry npc's. I think potentially marriage could fit into Dual Universe. After all relationships are the heart of us all as human beings and we naturally extend that into the games we play. Will Dual Universe be the kind of world we can role play? I suspect yes, so marriage could fit well. Whether I would use it, I don't know lol. But I would only 'marry' my real life boyfriend in the game!
  11. I'd also love to be able to make my character feel unique and have options to flesh her out a little. With personality stats or skills that allow for room to grow. Physical options that offer a generous selection of characteristics such as hair style, body shape etc. Another important aspect for me is armour and clothing. Having options in this regard and even being able to alter the colour of armour and clothing. For me to feel at home in a game world requires immersion. Some of that comes from a fleshed out world with strong lore, as we know Dual Universe has, but also from my own character. Can I make her look as I want? Can I play around with her in character creator until I'm happy? Can I collect different armour and clothing for her so she feels the part? Can I give her a first name and a last name? Can I earn titles for her, and will she grow in her abilities and skills? So excited for Dual Universe.
  12. Really looking forward to this going into alpha. Whichever way Novaquark chooses to go ahead with access to it, I really hope to be involved. I'm reigning my excitement in for now because it seems like an incredibly awesome game and I'll probably explode with the anticipation if I don't.
  13. Thank you, can't wait to see the possibilities!
  14. Some kind of intelligent alien would be cool, or allowing players to be the aliens via character creation?
  15. Hello there, Really excited by this game, it sounds like a very intelligent, promising and quality game from the things I have read so far. I love to build, create things, get lost in role play, and sink my teeth into anything that takes me to another place, and sets my imagination alight. This seems to be a game that will do all of those things. I currently build in another voxel game, Landmark, and also like to play The Sims, city builder games, Guild Wars and very occasionally Minecraft. I started to build Sci Fi a couple of months ago, but I love anything Sci fi and have for a long time. I tend to have a Utopian perspective of the future of humanity (primarily from a roleplay perspective) and really love the idea of the Arkship in Dual Universe. I find the aesthetic designs in DU very inspiring. I hope to experience all the great things in this game, and look forward to getting to know people in the DU community. I recognise a few names already. What I hope for in DU is to build up an Organisation or Empire...I'd love that and maybe there are a few people who will join to build that too!
  16. Sounds awesome Nyzaltar, the more I read about the plans for DU, the more I like it, this really sounds promising. I'd love to build a Space Station with a good collection of players, it sounds like a lot of fun.
  17. I feel the traditional / rigid concept of how guilds have been for some time, could be evolved somewhat. I think games like GW2 are pushing that forwards in terms of allowing people to join multiple guilds, however only one at any given time, it allows for more flexibility and choice for players. There are some down sides to this, in that it doesn't necessarily foster guild loyalty, but for me personally, the flexibility a multiple guild system allows, makes up for that. More incentive to stay loyal to a certain guild might help create stronger alliances between guilds and their members, but in general I prefer not to see content aimed solely at guilds, but plenty of things soloer's can partake in as well. The beauty of a game like Landmark is that you can do what you like, without feeling obliged to join a guild. There are of course bonus's to being part of one in that game, but its not a requirement by any means, and if you join one its because you want to create something meaningful with other people, for help and support, or for joint projects. I'd like to see something like this in DU, a meaningful reason to be in a guild, but if you choose not to join one, you can still happily exist in DU without any pressures. However I appreciate there may be some things soloer's cannot do, and that's ok, just like in rl, there are things you can't do by yourself, and at some point you need to seek something from others, whether it be materials, or help to accomplish something.
  18. I feel like a crafting system that is interesting / complex enough to keep people interested, and serious crafters entertained, is needed, but anything too complex could become a chore. Sometimes simple is good, maybe a system that is simple at its foundation, but can become more complex depending on how much effort the player wants to put in. The more effort (the more rare/valuable the materials) the harder, more complex it is to make something. So you could have a certain piece of armor, or other usable item, with two ways of making it. A simple, straight-forward path, which will create a lesser version of the item, or the harder route, wherein the item has much better stats, or bells and whistles. Just my general thoughts, looking forward to how it will be in Dual Universe!
