  1. They first need to leave the org. I have this same issue with multiple organizations that I started. Until this is fixed I have a lot of 'dead' organizations just hanging around.
  2. I am simply going off of the information provided. And yes I do believe that as NQ has said many times they want players to work together. One player who can mine a whole vein by themselves because they have a ship and tech goes against the community part of the game.
  3. Dual Universe is nothing like the universe of New Eden. Anyone who has seen any videos by NQ can see that Multiboxing will be nearly impossible. In EVE the basic mechanics are simple. You point, click, and sit and wait. In Dual Universe you are actively controlling your character in a first person view. Imagine trying to do this with 2 or more accounts. Eventually you’re going to have one or more character(s) who are standing there looking stupid and very vulnerable because they never move. You would almost need a monitor per account so that you can see what each character is seeing. From the YouTube video I saw mining with multiple accounts is impossible... I’m sure shooting moving targets with multiple accounts would be as equally difficult as you wouldn’t be able to aim. And anyone who has played any combat games knows standing still will always get you killed. With all all of this said, there may be those who will still try and Multibox. As it’s been said before: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” One instance I can see Multibox possibly working is in crafting. While multiple characters are crafting simultaneously, the main account would be free to keep mining. One issue would be that multiple active players can do the same thing and also have all of them back mining while crafting thus gathering resources much more quickly and efficiently. In the latest video though, it was said that not all crafting will be done in the nanoformer. The bigger and more complex things will take manufacturing processes. Having multiple accounts crafting while the other main account mines would be no where close to being as efficient because of the ability to link containers to your character and being able to utilize larger inventory spaces. Where 2 active players will most likely beat anyone trying to Multibox two accounts. Well then since PVP and Manufacturing mechanics don’t seem to easily facilitate it, perhaps the trade system would allow it to be possible? Well then again you need pilots to transport resources to the markets, market monitoring characters, and also trying to run a spreadsheet/calculator so you are always able to make it worth it... I’m also not convinced Multiboxing would be as efficient as multiple people working together to accomplish the same thing. In in the end, the mechanics and game style of both games are different thus not allowing the same issues to happen. Dual Universe is NOT a point and click style which allows the monitoring of multiple accounts simultaneously. People may try to Multibox, and nothing can be done to stop them from trying. I just see that multiple players working together can do the same if not more than one person with multiple accounts this leveling if not tipping the playing field towards those who play the game with one account.

They may be purely cosmetic right now, but I’m wondering if they will serve something me purpose in the future where people can purchase pets on the market and you’d need certain skill sets to use and operate your pet interface. I’m hoping this is the case, because what’s going to happen when you get attacked and someone kills your pet. How will you get it back? When you respawn, does it also respawn? If you survive and your pet does not, can you resurrect it at a node? Something would need to happen as people would be upset if their pet dies and they can’t get it back.

If anyone is seeking an organization where your ideas, opinions, and actions are rewarded, and where you earn your rank instead of other, less qualified persons in the positions you want, then you should check us out. We are a great community and are still seeking others who want to grow, learn, and be part of something great.
  7. For those of you who didn’t read the part or simply skipped over it, the “bank” part was something we thought people would like after we had the idea for the stocks. As far as size and military, I will leave that up to your imagination. Again, this is not for everyone as porc has made so very clear. You could make direct transactions between investors and manufacturers to trade resources and money. You could then have them shoot you in the back and take their resources back after you’ve paid them. You can do whatever you want. That’s never, and never will change. We just wanted to offer the community something.

We keep your money secure by providing a place where you can set your money aside to make payments to other players anonymously or use it as a payroll system via your account, or set aside money for a rainy day and use it to save some money up. No one is required to have a “bank” account, but you could have an account for other things. As as far as being physical, I do not know if this is what NQ is planning, but it doesn’t need to be physical for us to keep funds safe. Simply put, the “bank account” is a place to set aside money. It can be used later for whatever you would like. The resources for investments would need to come directly to Scabra so that way the company or person building has one place to pick up all their resources rather than going everywhere and flying all over the system to collect these resources they need to manufacture their products. This also allows everyone supplying the resources one specific location to bring their resources instead of having to wait for them to be sold, or having to travel all over the system to the different markets to sell them. We are hoping this will be more convenient and we do not see why traveling to one place wouldn’t be easier than all over the system which could take a whole day for just one trip. Just as banks operate today... all transactions are pending until funds are verified and the transaction is completed. This is to ensure you are not spending funds you otherwise would not have and overdrawing your account. Do not mistake Scabra for handling all of your daily market transactions. That is not what we are here to accomplish nor would make much sense. We are trying to provide a place where you can store some money, get money you need to make more money with (loans/mortgages), and invest in others to help them become more successful and thus returning a profit off of your investments. Broker fees do exist. Standings do affect the percentage of fees Scabra takes as a transaction fee for investments, and obviously higher standings result in lower fees. We want to provide a service for the citizens of Novark and do it so both parties are equally represented. Although we are moving into alpha testing, launch and features of the game will change some features of our service. The investments were our primary reason for starting, and the loans and bank came later. We currently have some interested parties, but we also understand this may not be for everyone, and that’s the point of an mmo. You can do whatever you want however you want. We just want to provide a service which may or may not be there upon release and make it somewhat more convenient for others.

  12. In the build mode he placed thrusters off of the structure. If the are linked to fuel would they still propel the ship? Will we have ships like this?

  15. Well, here are my thoughts on these subjects: Travel Bigger ships should and naturally are slower than smaller ships. So if you are hauling something in a freighter, you are flying a carrier full of fighters, or you have a large war ship (maybe battleship size, but there is also capital ships and super-capital ships, and maybe even titans) which are so much bigger than a frigate, or even a small fighter craft. These extremely large ships would turn slowly and not be as maneuverable as small fighter craft, so naturally they should be slower. Having large ships like this are also meant to travel farther. There is fuel in the game as it was discussed in development blogs and with this mechanic, smaller craft will not be able to hold as much fuel as larger vessels which would prevent them from flying from one end of the galaxy to the other in a couple of hours. As they would either need to stay somewhat close to a carrier type ship for refueling (these fighters would be more of an escort as well for larger ships) and if they are not escorting some larger ship they may need to stop frequently on a planet or space station to refuel. This will slow the over all travel time of smaller ships, but these smaller ships are also not carrying massive amount of resources and supplies needed to sustain any alliance in deep space, and hence the need for larger, much slower ships. Overall I agree that travel should take some time, but you also have to realize that in Eve, you warp everywhere. If there's just gates with no warp technology, it will take you a considerable amount of time to fly from a planet or station, to the gate, then to the next gate and then to the next. Perhaps the overall warp speed should be slowed down to something that will not be 2-3 minuets of flight time, but more so of like 10-20 minuets to reach the gate from a station or planet, and maybe something like 30-40 from gate to gate travel. This also depends on distances between objects as well. It shouldn't take as long to fly from a planet to a gate if they are within a reasonable distance from each other, but if the planet is on the other side of the system from the gate, then obviously it will take much longer to get to that gate. Which would also brings up if gates and or stations will be stationary objects or if they will have orbit around the central star like the planets. If this is the case, it would vary the distance and therefore the travel time to get from a station or planet to the gate and also gate to gate travel would vary as they may pass close to each other in orbit. I think having orbiting gates and stations like this would add and change travel quite considerably and would bring a whole new level of navigating and route plotting to the game. Big Ships My previous part about travel is linked to this topic as well. In order for these larger ships to travel at a decent pace, they will need a lot of thrusters which would burn up a lot of fuel, so there would need to be considerable amount of space being taken up by fuel tanks. You had mentioned you played Space Engineers. There is hydrogen fuel in that game, so if all you had were thrusters which used hydrogen fuel (no ion thrusters), then you would use up a lot of interior space for the hydrogen fuel tanks so you can make it from one planet to the next without running out of fuel. I feel the same would be quite applicable to these larger ships. You are going to need space for these large or even extra large fuel tanks, and these large or extra large thrusters (I'm not sure how big they plan to make these things). You will also need a decant amount of these items to move these large battleships and capital ships which will also take up quite a bit of room I would imagine. Plus you have the interior components as well such as the shields, engine/core, and all the other equipment mentioned before. Hallways are also not going to be small. The size of the doors and hallways I saw from the dev video where they were assembling the ship on the asteroid was not super tiny, and it didn't look like there was a whole lot of hallway space they were actually putting in. I would say that ship might be considered frigate size, but that would also depend on the size to class ratio being used. I feel as though a good ship design would have the adequate amount of equipment and hallways (empty space), but also take into consideration that the equipment needs to be separated and therefore would need the adequate amount of surrounding protection and space it needs. Designing a ship based on looks with no real purpose is going to have a lot of this empty space because it's more for looks and not function where as a ship designed around function would take some design skills to look good, and adding that next level of out-of-game skill level some players will not have thus increasing the market value of these well designed functional ships. Blueprints As with before, this topic flows from the last as these well designed functional ships will be the most sought after prize by other players. Other players will want to buy the ship so the owner would need a blueprint of the original to make more. I do not think blueprints should be sold on the market though, or purchasing a blueprint from the market is obviously (and I hope it is obvious) not going to be the best you could build on your own. After spending a considerable amount of time designing and building a well designed functional ship, I would not even consider selling my blueprint to someone else because they wouldn't understand the value of it, and if I did put the blueprint on the market, the price I would sell it for would seam astronomical to someone else because they would not understand the value behind it unless they were a designer/builder in which case, they would have their own design and not want to sell their blueprint. Companies do this in the real world. They do not sell their designs to other companies, they sell the products made by these designs and keep the designs secret within the company. Hence why there are Non-Disclosure Agreements companies make you sign and agree to saying that you will not go selling or giving out company secrets. To sell a blueprint you made on the open market really isn't good business, and in fact is probably the worst thing you could do for yourself, because instead of making money off of that blueprint by manufacturing these ships for other players, you just handed them the prints to make as many of them as they want. If an alliance has a well designed and functional ship, then of course they are going to make loads of money because (assuming they have the man-power to pull in resources, build these ships) then they would sell them on the market for profit. Again, going back to the business plan which the alliance may have set up already before the game even launches. Conclusion In conclusion, these are just some of the thoughts racing through my head after reading this, and I hope this has, at least, made others think deeper into how they want to play the game. I know I often think of these things and how I plan on playing the game. Overall, good topic, and I hope we hear more feedback on these topics.
  16. I have a diplomacy channel on my discord where I would love for leaders of other organizations to meet and discuss actions and diplomatic relations. Come to agreements and sort out land disputes and things like this is why I really created the channel. I'm also working on a bot program that would assign diplomatic status to verified Legates... it's a long process
  17. Scouring the orgs' announcements and such seams like a lot as I have so may other things going on right now. I would love to have loads of time on my hands, but it seams there are many preparations which are going to need completed before launch day, and that day is fast approaching. So many things and so little time. I don't know if all of the things I want to get done will be completed on time, and I'm sure there may be others out there who feel the same. I'm fairly new to the forums and have tried to become more involved as the release date inches closer and closer. Discord seams to be highly popular now days and, as I'm trying to build the group up, I am also seeking out other discord channels to participate in.

  19. Activate the cloak of invisibility! Yes everyone has made good points so far and I was thinking something along these lines as well. The different types of "hiding" a ship would be great as they are more realistic and work easily with game mechanics as mentioned. I was also reminded of the show "The Expanse" on sci-fi channel and how ships wee not invisible, but they were hard to detect as they came in for an attack or were spying on other ships. I'd like to spy on groups without them being aware of it so it can be reported back to high command where further action may or may not take place. I like the effect of Eve's cloak, but I agree it's too far into the realm of sci-fi and it may also be more of an issue to make a voxel grid disappear rather than using the methods of cloaking by Captain Twerkmotor.
  20. I was wondering what the community thinks as well as I'd NQ has decided if cloaking will be an option in the future. Obviously it will need to be balanced so, for example, someone can't cloak a 1,000 mile long ship and vessels too small won't be able to cloak. This can be accomplished by either power restrictions, area of effect if a bubble like system is in place, minimum and maximum mass requirements, or something which would not allow the element to work on ships too small or too large. This cloak should also have drawbacks such as disabling and/or affecting elements such as weapons systems not functioning as well as processing equipment, slower speeds, and possibly dimmer lights. These are just some ideas and I've not seen any other posts about cloaking. So I was curious as to what everyone thought.
  21. Currently we are trying to ramp up members as we are few. We intend to build capital ships capable of transporting resources to the far reaches of space, build battleships and capital combat ships capable of both transporting vast fleets as well as crushing those who threaten peace. Our goal is to first leave Alioth asap to venture for more resources, some are welcome to stay behind to help others get on their feet as quickly as can happen as well. Using 3rd party communications we hope to keep everyone up to date with events and progress of our presence in this new area of space. Once we have the ability to, we plan on creating a center for peace where those under oppression can find refuge and those seeking peace and safety can speak with representatives about starting new operations in new sectors. Also this will be a center where new build orders can be discussed. There are of course plans to increase after this, but for now we are going to start with what we can and try to give hope to those who want a fresh start and to those seeking to do what they love in a group that accepts all kinds of life. For we all have to start somewhere.

  23. Some things I've been thinking of, as of late, are that it's going to take everyone working together to accomplish things. I'm not sure if anyone else out there is wanting to form alliances or not, but this is not easily done on the community page as there are so many organizations now. I would like to know who would be interested in forming an alliance and getting to know each other so we can work together to accomplish our goals in game.
  24. We have big plans and I’m glad that we decided to open up recruitment again! As the protection force for this alliance, we do need people who are comfortable with executing orders, but we have plans for a great variety of positions weather it be in the political arena, research and development, asset acquisition, asset relocation, and even positions in marketing. By the time the Arkship makes landfall on Alioth, we hope you will be there with us.
