  1. What I would REEEALLLYY love NQ to implement for the voxel building, as it really bugs me and I am sure many other builders, is a limiter for the drag and select tool area, when trying to placing or delete voxels. 

    If you are going to prevent/limit a person to only place or delete a certain length of 160 voxels or a specific amount, why then can I go past this limit with the selection tool (turns red). It aggravates me to no extent when I get a error message saying that my selection was bigger than the permitted area or selected area was too big.

     

    LIMIT the selection area to the amount you are permitted to place or delete then as well. It is tedious to be limited to remove a small percentage at a time, I understand this is to reduce processing time and lag, sure, but it makes things overly tedious.

  2. @fullsend - Then they simply should not buy it if they are not prepared....there is no use grumbling over it.

     

    You are not buying the game, they are asking you to support them them so they can make a great game.......and to thank you for your support you get perks and privileges from the Devs for your faith in their vision.

     

    Please don't get confused between entitlement because you bought access and a simple finalised game.

    The difference between them are big and the requirements to create it are very different.

    If you want to play instancing games or mini multiplayer games enjoy the selection you have at your fingertips.

     

    You also know that it is clearly stated that the game is under development and will not always be available in its development phases during pre-alpha, and alpha for longer interval sessions, eventually moving into full 24 hour in beta when most people will want to start taking part as most of the basics have been ironed out.

     

    Also you buy the supporter packs knowing all this......before hand so there should not really be any grumbling.....

     

    Disclaimer: you are joining a game that is under development. While you will be able to play and we hope you will enjoy the game, this is a real Pre-Alpha and as such, you must expect the following :
    • The game servers are available once per week (Each test date & time is available at the top of the Dual Universe homepage)
    • The Pre-Alpha phase is under strict NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement). It means you cannot share footage of the game.
    • There will be bugs, game crashes and the client isn't optimized for low specs computers.
    • As we are in Pre-Alpha, not every gameplay feature (such as PvP and the Economy) is available in-game. You can check the homepage in order to see what is available now and what will come later. You can also check the community Trello for more information.
  3. It would be good to have a context menu when in a party or team.... quick sound / (visual cues if the avatar does not disappear :-) ) it will help assist quick language cues/references.

     

    By universal language i though this was already defined by devs as being an english based game, referencing the business language used in the world today.

     

    Anyway that aside even If there is a language barrier it also opens up job roles for proxy/ trade or communication professionals, or those natural diplomats who like to be mediators or can speak/understand both sides.

     

    In summary, a vocal cue context menu would be good to have in certain situations. Parties or squads may only require simple actions and cues to issue and aknowledge or the activites or understood actions were simple and pre-agreed on.

     

    Chat boxes should be present or have separators or tabs for the types of chat (or something like it for: squad, Org / alliance, local area (5 hex tiles) and whisper chat.

     

    I think GLOBAL chat should be hidden bar server announcments, to encourage org communication to known what is happening outside and for the clever....well they could take advantage of this in the form of jobs or bulletins in game.

     

    VOIP it is a great option whilst not in game, discord is handling it nicely, in a round about sense. ie to chat you have to be in the same org and voice channel to chat....though to fix this simply have a communal or gathering area to go to. So to VOIP with someone you only have to meet up and invite them.

  4. Sure it possible.....probable.....maybe not....its all part of the game.

    If they are flying over head and you're on their side/neutral then you gotta a good chance of not being killed.

    However.....just remember, where  privateers come from.....

     

     

  5. No, I do not thing they are fundamentally different concepts, the scripting is there to assist and give you and edge......to automate or enhance some more mundane tasks.

     

    It is limited as the potential abuse of an unrestrained ability to script is not a good thing. Certain limitations need to be applied in order to give an edge, but not provide someone with a Deathstar like edge....if they are a wizard scripter.

    Another point that was not mentioned are the DACS, when DAC purchasing becomes available, you could just buy a lot of DACs in one purchase.........whilst is it not a lifetime subscription,  it will allow you to play and enjoy the game for x months....X being the amount of DAC you decided to buy.

    Another good point about DAC's is they can be traded, for goods or... services.... ;)

    However this will occur at some point when the game becomes open to play by the larger community...maybe open Beta.....maybe

According to the lore....the nano formers are beyond our sapian brains to replicate as they were made by the machine AI we used.....in ways we do not understand.....and we deactivated....them cause we were afraid. So according to the lore we are a little limited to certain mechanisms or construction within the bounds of what the nanoformer is capable of. Though the Ark AI is partly sentient...or after many 100 or 1000 of years become sentient just pretending ;)

     

    Also they have said in the Devblog

     

    For the nanoformer, it could simply be your body heat, so all you need to do is to (h)eat. We would need to get some serious future pseudo-science to explain that however, because the Watts available will be rather limited!
