Sir_Rat got a reaction from Castanietzsche in Rotating Voxels
In one of the topics, Nyzaltar responed to Daddio, talking about how elements could be rotated, but rotation of voxels is not yet supported. Nyzaltar said about this, "but it should be implemented when the Voxel Elements will be introduced ingame." That was in May of 2016, so something could have changed that I missed.
So if this hasn't already, is it definitively going to happen at some point?
If rotation of voxels happens, to what degree of precision and accuracy can this be done?
Can we rotate a Voxel Element down to the degree, half a degree, tenth of a degree? Or are we more limited to, say, 15 degree intervals?
Can we type in a value of rotation like how you can rotate a selection in Blender with a keyboard shortcut and then value, or are we limited to rolling the mouse wheel and eyeballing it or snapping between 15 degree intervals?
What I have in mind specifically is how very large, round, circular, and spherical shapes (such as in a space station...which is a sphere...and is sometimes mistaken for a moon... ) will be designed/constructed: will it only be possible to create a massive sphere out of upright, aligned blocks (aka minecraft style) and then smooth the whole structure afterwards? Or will it be possible using aforementioned rotation techniques to build a large hollow sphere/cylinder in a way similar to the makeup of a static mesh by connecting thousands of ever-so-slightly rotated voxel tiles (comparable to polygons of a static mesh), voxel tiles being large flat shapes? If that last part is too poorly described, imagine making a giant soccer ball by first making the hexagons and pentagons out of voxels and then rotating them and placing them together at the seams.
If this topic is already answered elsewhere, please leave a link.
Thanks

Yes! This! A while back I was looking at the different nation-type orgs to see which was more private-business friendly, and I noticed how (for lack of a better term) business-hostile most of the nations seemed to be in that respect. I do think if there are enough businesses in the game and one nation develops good policy for a private sector, it will definitely rise above the rest.

I chose Designer (Mechanical + Systems-Engineer to be precise). Gonna do what you're good at! I'm also interested in Entrepreneurship, but it is bleeding-hard to look for a country that has this ideal of Private-sector-economy and public(tax)-fundings of public-infrastructure(such as Ports and logistics like roads) that will make doing businesses cheaper and easier in the country. It will put the country in competitiveness-chart and may even attract FDI(foreign-direct-investment. 100% owned or partially-foreign-owned with local-partner). No Organization I've seen has that ideal, which makes Entrepreneurship hard. Oh well! That is the economic-way to look at things, not the martial-way.

I just want to build a ship that can do the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs.

Lol I would listen to what this guy has to say

Why not? People need to protect their cconvoys. But I wouldn't count on pirates/enemies to only shoot some tank, that's stupid. They'll go for either fast loot or kill all dps and then loot everything

This is a poll to get a general idea of the community's interests.
-If you are interested in multiple/all careers, pick the one that interests you the most.
-If a career you have in mind isn't explicitly listed but is very similar to a choice, choose the most related category.
- Sorry if this has been done before (if so, please link it).
- If what you are passionate about and want to do is not an option, choose 'Other' and post below what career path you would like to pursue/try out.
- If this triggers you because you don't want to be put in a box or don't want this Eve-esque Career Paradigm in DU, choose 'Triggered'

I chose "Triggered" because the only thing I want to put in this box is more sand. xD
Don't get pigeon holed: Just DU it.
(Also have a like for the Bernarr line)

Sir_Rat reacted to Anaximander in Poll: Space Narcotics
Yeah, I mean, sure, but... why would anyone make it illegal IN the game? They would be like potions or elixirs in any other MMORPG. Why would smugglers need to be in check?
Best case scenario, a big corporation makes a lot of them, makes money, buys more army than any other faction and pulverises any competition and the game is turned to JUAREZ Universe and we all play as space drug-lords and hustlers.
Organisations? Nah, call them Cartels, turn legates to O.Gs and call the admins "The Feds".
I hope the composer for the music in-game has a really goood sense of hip-hop music, cause Space-Cadillac ain't playin' no techno yo. If it ain't Strait Outta Arkship, it ain't cool yo.

What's up guys! My name's Nicholas, but you can call me Nick or NRS if you please. I'm a person who's rather obsessed with games in the space genre, and Dual Universe is no exception. In other words, I can't wait for this to come out! There are many things I enjoy doing, and those things include making concept art, designing, and a bit of programming. I believe those three things can help a lot with this game's economy. I'm planning on designing as many affordable spaceships that use minimal material as I can. Well, that's about me. See you guys around!

@Ishamael:
The client is downloaded in a compressed format by the installer.
The file size should be around 2 GB. Then the installer will decompress the game in the specified game folder and the client, once fully installed, should be under 8 GB. The required 40 GB is a - comfortable - margin for the game cache and also crashdumps for bug reports.
Edit: "Go" replaced by "GB"
Best Regards,
Nyzaltar
