    Dear NQ,
While I am sure you are working steadily and extremely focused on dealing with the current server issues. I feel it's warranted since it's been nearly a week dealing with these issues, that server issues need to come to an end. And sooner than later. All Betas have a rough start. However this is the worse my community and myself have ever seen.

Server issues for much longer are simply not going to be accepted by the DU community. We are starting to lose players, because they have a bad taste in their mouths, and most will not return.
Players are spending hours and in some cases days on loading screens. Players are dealing with the constant pending operation, computing data, and terrain that doesn't load.
Players can't voice their concerns on Discord, due to the Mod Staff actively silencing discontent, and issuing unwarranted mutes. Which I assume you have directed. And on top of all this we get no communication at all. Just random restarts that actually make game play worse.

Regardless, the server issues need to be wrapped up and soon. You are charging for a Beta, that has no current way to cancel the subscription, and you expect players to just keep dealing with these issues. That's not how this works. Deal with the server issues, even if you have to schedule employees around the clock to get it done. There is no more time on this issue. NQ you are killing the game in the first week of Beta. There is only so much to do in the game, and currently players can't even do it.

As someone that's been playing games since he was 6, has tried everything, then studied game development for 4 years, I'd like to pitch into this.

There are different kinds of audiences in the game industry like every other industry of course, in the gaming industry you have these audiences (from my perspective):
    Action
    Achievers
    Chill
    Competitive
    Roleplayers

Action players are into fast-paced games that give you as much to do in as little time as possible. Achievers want to try and 100% the games they play or grind for everything in an MMO. Chill players just want to relax and be in the game. Competitive players want to be the best and usually master the mechanics of a game. Roleplayers try to recreate a story or character in a game from something else or their own creativity.

If you look from the perspective of each one of these audience members, then what they see as "winning" in a game like this is different. Action players see winning as getting into combat and getting out of it alive, mastering the mechanics, or getting the highest score; basically short term wins. Achievers only win when they 100% a game, which is difficult if the game constantly updates adding new content. Chill players don't really care about winning a game, I guess they see winning as finding the best way to chill in a game, so if the game has constant distractions and annoyances, then they've lost. Competitive players obviously want to be the number one player, so a scoring and/or rule system that places players in a skill hierarchy is important for them to decide this, that way they can use it to find out who is truly "number one". Roleplayers usually see winning as completing their character's life I suppose, game mechanics like a progression system with skills, levels, etc. can help simulate character development, completing the development of their character and/or completing a campaign they've made or the game has made for their character is usually seen as a win.

I can go even more in depth, but this is just a summary for each audience. Overall though, it depends on the kind of person you are and what you are content with being the last thing you ever need to do in a game, being that making it to the number one player spot, or just building a massive castle.

    Heyo!
Finally got around to being able to show ya something decent.  Just a simple forum sig for MasteredRed, more to come for other DUA members (and myself).  I'm also working on helping out TSE and AI with their own forum sigs (different styles and stuff to suite their needs).

Sooo... yea.  Soon I should start to post some 3D stuff as well!

(Update: November 12th, 2019: detailing the content that will be released before the end of the year)

    Dear Community,

We heard your feedback regarding our communication that wasn't as regular during the past months than it was before, in addition of a few miscommunication incidents. That's why we decided to plan several events to catch up and address that topic before the end of the year:

For those who have questions (or concerns) about Dual Universe or Novaquark, we've just opened a dedicated thread here (as many questions may be related to subjects under NDA, and we can't check beforehand, we had to put the forum thread in a section under NDA. If you're not a backer and you have questions on topics that aren't under NDA, feel free to contact NQ-Nomad and/or NQ-Nyzaltar by private message on the forum, and they wil transmit them to the team). No question is taboo. Although we can't promise to give a clear and detailed answer for each question, we will try our best to reply as much as we can.
Here is the content related to communication we plan to release before the end of the year:
    - a video presenting the updated roadmap.
    - a Dev Diary video showing the recent progress on the game development
    - a PodCast where we will try to answer the most pressing matters (based on the questions posted in the dedicated thread).
    - an AMA event where we will try to answer to the remaining questions.
    - a Kickstarter update.
We can't give specific dates for all of this content yet, but all will be released before the end of the year.

    Best Regards,
    The Novaquark Team.

You don't have to make them out of voxels, you can make them a singular object like the furniture in the game.

My smart mouthed way of answering this would usually be to just point people to this site -> http://isalphaoutyet.com/

But, to more specifically answer your questions...

No, the game is not available yet for download.

To play in the first stage Alpha you will need to purchase a founders pack, however, no subscription will be needed: https://community.dualthegame.com/pledge

To play in late state Alpha, if you did not purchase a founders pack, you will have to purchase a supporter pack (which will not go on sale until later this year).

Alpha is scheduled to launch sometime in September.

Founders Packs will no longer be on sale after the 7th of September.

tl;dr - If you want to play in Alpha launching in September, buy a Gold (or higher) founders pack.

I'm not sure if it's the final texture but I think a lot of people would agree with me that the texture of the voxels looks very clay like. Are there plans to add metal textures or more textures in the future?

This would really be helpful for the builders if we had a wider selection of textures to choose from. It looks like in the videos we can choose the colours but are we also able to select a material?

It would be nice when we mine metal and place it down we receive a more metal texture with a reflective surface. If there are already plans to add this to the game then sorry for wasting everyone's time but it would improve the graphics and would also make a lot of builders happy.

Arcus25 got a reaction from Kurosawa in Questions about possible DU problems
Sorry did I phrase my sentences as "der dum phlub how dwos te gam wok???". I'm not stupid I've been self teaching myself game development for a long time now. Also you would be surprised at what hackers can do. People can still hack dedicated servers. For example I could do it if I wanted to but I don't like cheating and I don't like cheaters. I would only mess with a game if it's an old broken game that doesn't work with 64 bit systems, if a mod needs improving or if I'm modding the game myself.

Also Minecraft handles memory very well but will still crash if you build a city and you don't have enough RAM. It looks like you are just answering questions you don't know the answers too so please don't mock me.

    ** Currently Recruiting **

    About

The Sierra Corporation is an organisation that provides trade and private military services. We promise to help new traders in the universe to show their potential and provide a deluxe living environment in our territory. We also strive to lower the prices of all our products to give our customers a great deal.

The Sierra Corporation is ran by me (StormEagle). I've been the leader and staff of/in clans before. I am an experienced and skilled leader and I have been told this many times by the people I've been in clans with in the past. I also have a good grasp of money and can make a lot of it in games. It's not just money I'm good with I'm also a good fighter. This is why I wanted to make the Sierra Corporation a combination of a PMC and trade company.

The Sierra Corporation will be more involved when the game has fully come out (I'm not interested in playing the alpha or beta). When the game fully comes out I will try to gather the engineers to create Sierra City. Sierra City is going to be kept secret for now but I have a lot of plans for it. The reason why I want to keep it secret is so nobody steals my idea for it.

If you want to join feel free. I am currently looking for a CEO to run things when the alpha comes out so if you're interested all the information on how to apply is below.
