This is a series of stories I have written about artificial intelligences (AIs).
Originally I posted each one in a separate topic, but I have gathered them together so I can list them in order.  (Thanks to @Kurock for suggesting this.)
 
This story is about the early developers of sentient artificial intelligence.

Projection of Force should be on every organizations toolbelt when it comes to DU I feel, mostly because planets are just too massive for reasons stated above me by other users. If you can exert your influence across the planet and further, then you can absolutely get by without putting down territory units everywhere. Maybe make a little money on the side by "renting" out hexes in your area of influence for other players hm?

What are you most excited to do in DU?
What are you most excited to build?
What are you most excited to experience? 
 
Im very excited for the grand strategy aspect. I am excited for combat, and the hugely dynamic combat system thats gonna be in place. Im super excited to see thing like shipping and mining thrive, and to see others' creativity. You always get to see some really cool stuff when you get tons of people a good creative outlet. 
 

I have actually revived an old website idea and converted it to this project, with most of it completed while the rest needs some fine tuning.

Please note: It's mostly for promotion and not done. As such, texts and multimedia will see additional fine-tuning over time with the licensed material we obtained (thus, don't worry, no copyright issues here - hey, with what happened some time ago in the community I better mention this :P).
 
Consider it a place holder that, nonetheless, can already promote the project and will be fine-tuned as Tortuga and this project advances. It's a step forward either way.

So what is left to DU, all in all?
Wait for more game and city project progress and more details Fine-tune the promotional website and content of any type Overhaul the OP and potentially... ...come up with some sort of application system and basic requirements and expectations (potentially done via the promotional website or a forum thread in a dedicated Tortuga forum) Eventually find solid personnel for leadership positions or generally fitting members so that this thing can basically "run on its own" without too much management required in daily operations - this would also be ideal for me due to time constraints and commitments in other projects I have  
We may also ditch the website (or keep it for promotional purposes only, but move applications and so on) if Tortuga decides to open a community website or forum where all organizations, groups and individuals that take part can organize. This would, from my humble point of view, make sense eventually and connect the city and its inhabitants or supporters more. While a Discord server exists, I think a (dedicated) forum might be easier to store information in or navigate said information, so it should be considered at one point. While I really like the project and would even consider providing a place, this should ideally be done by the "founding fathers" (and / or mothers) of the Tortuga project as having all of that outsourced can lead to ... potential risks or data loss later on.

The DU Community in-game game idea pitch competition. Welcome to the DICE Den.
 
Note: Please keep discussions about a specific ideas in a separate thread, this thread is for entrants. (Putting this first so that it is hopefully read)
 
What is it? A DU community competition, here on the forums, where anyone can suggest an in-game game and then the community will vote for their favourite.

Rules:
The game must take place in playing field of at most 110x75 meters with a height of 50 meters inside Dual Universe (give or take a few meters) and should cater for spectators. A single post may be made per person detailing their idea. Keep it under a few paragraphs, enough to get the idea across. Pictures (even mspaint drawings) may be beneficial, but keep them few. While this is more a sales pitch than a complete design, if you feel inspired, just DU it. Entrants are free to make assumptions about DU combat and how elements work in DU, if relevant to their game. Working in groups is allowed but only a single person can enter the group's work here and win the prize. The competition is open to all that can post on these forums.  
Dates: Competition entries start on 1 February 2018 with last day for entries on 22 February 2018. Voting then starts on 23 February 2018 an will continue until 10 March 2018.
 
Prize: The winning suggestion wins a game key of their choice and DICE (https://community.dualthegame.com/organization/dice) will implement a prototype of the game and potentially add it to the roster of DICE games. The game keys can be chosen from: The Long Dark, Quantum Break, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, and Tomb Raider.
 
TLDR: Yo wazzup! I heard you like games so I want to put games in your games so make a game then I award you with a game in a game as well as a game that is not in the game. Kapish?
