    Star Trek is the property of  CBS and Paramount Pictures. You can not create a Star Trek game inside of Dual Universe, they are not your intellectual properties to use.

    Dual Universe is a single shard MMO where all the players take place in the same universe. The players construct most of the spaceships and buildings in game and set up their own governments and build their own cities. Exploration will be key, PVP will be key, building will be key and groups of people working together will be key.
     
    No Mans Sky is a single shard game that has a universe as large as the real one. The likelihood of running into another player is worse than winning the lotto, its essentially a 1 player game. No Many Sky does not allow for building, does not allow for creating a city, world, spaceships or anything. Its an exploration game at heart and little more.
     
    I am not disparaging No Mans Sky, it looks like fun, but the games are so different it's kinda dumb that the media looks at them in the same way.
     
    At the end of the day, Dual Universe will allow you to play with your friends and meet many more, No Many Sky....not so much.

    I cant offer much on the speed limit of the game be it light or FTL, or Warp (folding space).

    What I can say thought is that I prefer the ability to travel FAST and or DISTANT to scale with ship size. Meaning a small fighter should not be able to jump or go as far as a large ship with more resources, reserves and capacity. 
     
     
    Small ships should not be able to warp or FTL, should have limited range but be quick or agile. 
     
    Medium ships should have a mild jump capability and have a farther reach
     
    Larger ships should be able to warp or FTL due to fuel capacity and engine size. 

    Capitol ships should be able to freely roam the universe with an entire ecosystem on board, only stopping for raw materials from time to time.

    Those are my 'quick thought's' on travel.

    If this gets implemented, the game is going to turn out more complex and would play a big role of the game's economy system.
    It sounds awesome. I can't wait to see more ideas like this.

    Yeah it happens to me all the time in KSP where people grab my craft files, make a few modifications and post pictures and YouTube videos.  I don't really care in that game because there's no monetary value in the design.
     
    In Dual Universe, however the devs have said that there will be a market for ship blueprints that you can sell for in-game money.  If you make a great design that everybody wants and someone adds a new antenna then sells it as "new and improved" it's going to really really suck!  (I guess that's when you get all your pirate buddies together and bomb the crap out of his space station...)

    What's up everyone.  I guess it's about time i write up a little introduction here too.  It is seriously awesome how fast this organization has grown.  And damn do we all have the coolest forum banners or what.   Thanks Kiklix!
     
    Some of you already know me from Landmark.  So hello to all my fellow Landmark refugees! and also a big hello to all the people coming from other games too!
     
    So ahh about me, my main interest in Dual is the voxel building.  I'm a huge fan of modern architecture and a lot of my building inspiration comes from a childish desire to actually get to live in a house like Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater or the house from the movie Oblivion, which was the inspiration for the Landmark build in my signature.
     
    A lot of what i do is inspired by other people and purely for my own amusement.  But occasionally i may manage to crank out something i would call original, and if i do i plan to sell and trade those creations under my personal brand ATMOCORP.
     
    ATMOCORP's goal is to bring a bit of luxury and class to the world of planetary exploration and colonization.  Just because your house requires a proximity force field for protection doesn't mean it can't also have an infinity pool.

    ​Cops has been disbanded. Sorry for wasting your time. This was a lone decision by Kiklix and does not reflect the other legate lady astrum nor the members.
     
     
    ​The following are the answers to why COPS has been disbanded.
     
    Drama:  Certain populous organizations and their legate have been concocting rumors about COPS. Legates from other some what populous organizations have made assumptions about COPS and presented these as facts. In every case these people are wrong and only serve to create drama. There is no reason for all the hate I have received and COPS has received. I am done 'playing' with a community full of children.

    COPS - Coalition Of Pirates & Smugglers.   The arkships landed. We woke anew, scared, unsure. Groups formed, factions aligned. Power corrupted. For all the efforts to save our species, the millennia we traveled, we reverted almost instantly back to that old human nature. Not even extinction could change our habits, our instinct.   We have all been there. Watching and witnessing the mega-corporations metastasize and feed off the livelihood of the less fortunate. Class warfare, poverty, slavery...being forced to work by some clown sitting at the top of his ivory tower barking commands. I’ve had enough of it, most likely so have you. It’s time to break from those chains and live a free life. It ain’t easy, ain’t too much glory, but it’s honest (for the most part) and fair.  We are a coalition, a collaboration,  a consortium, a conspiracy, a communion,  a clan, a crew, a club, a confederation, a confederacy collecting cohorts connected, conjoined, combining efforts to be a free people, free from tyranny, terror and totalitarianism.       WHAT IT'S LIKE:   Ever want to pilot the Millenium Falcon? Ever dream to have a crew who works together like Firefly? You want to be that solo guy who searches for bounties like Boba Fett and his Slave I?   This is how we dream to play and we intend to play this way. However Dual may require efforts from a  larger group. If this is true, we just want to have a system in place so that people can come together to fullfill their visions. We want solo play, but under the safety net of a larger organization.     WHAT WE ARE NOT:   ​We are NOT GRIFERS. COPS are pirates, smugglers, outcasts, ninjas, mercenaries in the ROLE play sense, NOT in the griefing sense.  
    THE BREAKDOWN:   • Enrollment: Some will get invited, some will inquire. If you want to be part of a free alliance just ask.
    • Primary language: English and gibberish.
    • Timezone: Only mega corps keep up with time.
    • Goal:  Solo or co-op gameplay within a larger group. We all like to do our own thing, but somtimes you need to be part of something larger or you will get left behind.  
    COPS is an organization created and designed to bring together like minded people who prefer to play solo without constraints of typical guild requirements (be here on X day, at Y time to raid Z...ya its tiresome).  We realize people have limited time to play and that real life takes place first. That being said, Dual Universe looks like this might be a game where cooperation and collaberation are keys to success. If we find this to be true, there might be more expected collaborative gamplay required. We don’t want to force anything on anyone, but just ask people to step up if it is required to do so.  In the end it’s not about making a large guild rich, its about making sure your needs are met, our mutal needs are met. We endevor to create an enviroment where co-op game play is actually fun and rewarding.    
    SO WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?   • Security: Safety in numbers.
    • Community: A network of people to work together with if so desired.
    • Freedom: Free to play your way but with the undertanding that freedom requires effort and work. There will be times we need to work together, its the only way to keep an alliance strong.
    • A Trade network. Not sure how Dual is going to work with trade, but within a group there will be communication lines. We will be able to trade with each other and help keep our alliance strong.
    • Veteran ship builders: We have members who have crafted some of the finest voxel ships to ever exist.  Our fleet will impress, this I can promise.
    • Veteran home builders: We have members who have crafted some of the finest voxel sci-fi mega structures to exist. Our home world wont look like a cut rate hostel.
    • PVP: Lets face it, even if you only care for PVE, PVP might and will happen at some point. If you intend to fly in a ship, once you are out of the ark safe zone, pvp will happen. We intend to create smart ship designs that will help to ensure pvp victories, but you will need to know how to fly it.
    • PVE: We know some people have no interest in PVP. Hopefully we can get a civilization started with trade, harvesters, crafters etc. It’s good to have folks who specialize in these categories.
    • Exploring: It’s at the heart of Dual Universe, of course we will explore!
    • If i can be done in Dual, we intend on experiencing that content in one way or another.  
    GOVERNMENT:   Don’t really intend on having some massive over inflated group of power hungry people running the show. I have no interest in that, however there does need to be a head or some form. Castles have kings, homes have breadwinners. Even a pack of wolves looks to their Alpha. I intend on holding the main key of power or have it distributed among a very close group of friends. Those who know me know I fight tooth and nail for the little guy, for honesty and integrity. I have no intent on telling you how to play or what to do...but internal conflicts will occur and those will need to be resolved. We want everyone to be happy and to play together...its the best recipe for success. 
       
    If COPS sounds like a style of gamplay that you find appealing, speak to Kiklix or LadyAstrum.

    But average cost of subscription (WoW, EvE) is about 15 USD - and for reason. Devs do not charity work, they want to earn something too... 15 USD is normal market price for game like that... it is argument like "i want brand new porsche, but it must cost less than 1000 bucks". Sorry, quality must cost...

    I started following Dual around October of 2014 if I remember correctly. I was making some pretty high profile spaceships in another voxel game and someone who kept up with games more than I do mentioned Dual Universe. I looked into it and was instantly sold on the idea (I wanted to see spaceships fly, other game did not offer this)...but not necessarily committed to the company making it.
     
    J.C. Baillie's background in robotics and programming lured me in pretty hard along with the other members of the team and their past accomplishments. I had also seen some of their art and I was heavily impressed. Their twitter correspondant has always been fun to engage with and has treated everyone as equals. I saw no favoritism coming out of Novaquark.
     
    Once the website went live I read through the dev blogs and was impressed by Novaquarks transparency and honesty. I was hooked. I signed up on the day the forums went live. Ever since then, Novaquark as a team has impressed me with their continued efforts in craft, their continued  design, transparency, and integrity.
     
    Bottom line is that Novaquark has shown to be extremely dedicated and very professional while also maintaining a humanistic connection to the fan base. This is what inspires me the most. The Novaquark team, all of them. Artists, designers, programmers, community relations. Top notch group of people!

    Our initial focus is mining for resources and to design functional and advanced star ships of all types, both military and civilian but our long term focus is Technological advancement of the human race.
     
     
     
    Is the Morrigan Consortium a Civilian or Military organisation?
     
    We are mainly a Civilian company but we do have a Militaristic side.
     
     
     
    I heard your factions wishes to stay neutral is it true?
     
    Yes and no, there's an emphasis on 'wishes' but we will stick by any and all allies we may have should they be attacked or declared war on.
    But considering we also design Warships we will need a way to test them in combat, We will not aggravate others to start a war though.
     
     
     
    Whats the ranking system within the Consortium like?
     
    Considering we have two sections within the Consortium (Military and Civilian) we have two different rank structures but they both report to the Consortium Head.

    Currently we are a member of the Coalition of Pirates and Smugglers. (COPS)
     
     
     
    Why would i join the Morrigan Consortium?
     
    If you like designing ships or even building them we do a lot of that so that's a good reason why.
    We also do a bit of mining for players who are interested in gathering resources, the lifeblood in this new age.

    Believe it or not, I recruited ONE person and they refused it. They were my first attempt at a recruit and they will be my last. Lady Astrum has not recruited anyone.

    Hehe maybe Friday nights could be "Snuggle Time".
     
    In echo of Kiklix I'm past the days where I want to actively recruit anyone. Organic growth seems better, including friends and family coming in as well.The people who approach us want to join us, I'm not a believer in chasing anyone.
     
    I look forward to us developing a sense of kinship.

    I just read the Dev Blog again on LUA Scripting. I can't wait to play DU. I have made a couple hand full of spaceships in another voxel building game, but they only fly in my imagination because there is no development going on to make builds do anything more than look pretty. 

    I can't wait to get into DU and make my first tiny attempt at a spaceship. Will most likely be something small, easy to make and get up and running. If/when you guys pull this off, DU is going to be the coolest game in existence!
