  1. which OS and installed where, also how much RAM
  2. It woudl be odd for the core to be damaged as that is not enabled outside fo PVP space aas far as I know. Are you sure you damaged your core and not trrying to repair a core from an abandoned construct? Anyway, to fix a broken core you must replace it, have the relevant core in your active inventory and have the repair tool active, it will tell you what you need to do when you hover over the core, which is to do a CTRL-CLICK if I recall correctly. I would also suggest you join the Discord.. never mind the sometimes heated debates there.. Just ask your questions and you wil get someone to help you..
  3. @Aaron Cain I think you are missing a few talents there .. The "Organisation Construct Management " talents train how many slots a legate enables for an org to be filled by players assigning their cores. Without talent 0 slots are enabled Organisation Construct Management - adds for 25 slots per level (total 25-125) Organisation Construct Management Specialization - adds 75 slots per level (total 200-500) Advanced Organisation Construct Management Specialization - adds 225 slots per level (total 725-1625) So based on your screenshot, this character (if legate for an org) enables 725 slots for players to assigne cores to. The "Organization construct Slot Opimization" talents are what determines how many cores a player can assign to an org. Without talent you have 10 cores to assign Organization construct Slot Opimization - adds 3 per level (total 13-25) Advanced Organization construct Slot Opimization - adds 5 per level (total 30-50) Improved Organization construct Slot Opimization - adds 10 per level (total 60-100) So this character can only assign 10 cores as none of the above three talents are trained. See THIS SHEET as well Organisation Construct Management
  4. I have not once "suggested what NQ should do", I have stated what I expect/hope they will do as well as been clear that, while I believe it would be a mistake, can accept it if they do not as it does not really affect me and/or my play style either way. You are entitled to have your opinion sure, which is all it is, but I do not share it.
  5. Because I'm not and this is really just in your mind. I expect NQ will wipe. I can see plenty of resons why. You expect they won't and refuse to even consider (by simply ignoring/dismissing them) any resons that may be brought up. That's fine, it also means there is no point in arguing this with you. We will know in a few months who was right and who was not..
  6. Before beta NQ was supposed to include new planet tools to create the planets, that got pushed and they were going to do a wipe post beta launch to bring it in but were "convinced" by some player groups to not do that. JC then promised that this tech would come in the form a new solar system instead, which never happened and as it stands there is no indication it will. Frankly, I could see NQ wanting to bring in that tech on release and that would then add another good argument/reason for a wipe.
  7. You missed the point, I think any changes in that context would come _following_ the wipe, not before. That includes changes in policy regarding exploits and things like limiting the height at which you can place static cores to prevent the needle towers to reappear post wipe. My point is that I expect NQ knows they will wipe and so, putting effort and resources in to all of that now would be a waste from that perspective which would in turn also explain some of the choices made so far. Frankly, NQ should have learned quite a lot from what players have done and how it has impacted the world and/or posed risks to others. It would make sense to aggregate all that during this time and then fix it all in one swoop at the same time you do a wipe. To me, that course of action makes perfect sense and it's also pretty normal to see happen during the stage of development the game is in. By overreaching with the "beta" label and charging money for access, NQ limited their options in fixing in place and as they went so they will now do all that in one go, prior to release and including a single wipe. Now obviously their choices (or JC's choices I'd expect) would also mean they need to get this right in one go as they get one opportunity to fix it all, since I believe the date for release is set in stone and approaching pretty rapidly.
  8. I'd certainly agree the 3080ti is a better choice than the 3090. The benefits of the latter are minimal compared to the price difference
  9. I understand what you are saying here but I do not agree. What NQ needs to retain their new players is to have experienced players who will bring the new ones up with them, not sit on their private little kingdoms looking down on how the (new) plebs struggle. And the best way to do that is to weed out the egos. Not saying that anyone against a wipe is in that category, but most of the egos will be in there. A group of "old" players starting out (with their talents intact" will be able to take the ne players along and those, in turn will pick up the ones that come after them. I have never said and do not believe a wipe would be about a level playing field and frankly, that would no be needed. The wipe itself would not be that, and I can agree a wipe alone would not have enough of an impact to make a difference. However, it would/Could be the point where NQ can make some changes which are tougher to implement on an existing world. True, and the difference of POV here is that I see a wipe as the starting point of a longer term plan, not an "instant solution". It also need to be part of a plan and not just a wipe. And this is pretty much exactly why _in that context_ I expect a wipe to come and be needed. It will reset what has been, erase the fallout of mistakes and allow changes to come into play which will further remove the need to wipe again, if NQ has taken note and learnt from the last two years. I believe a wipe towards release has always been a given, which might have been a point which NQ would try and prevent but as beta progressed, several issues and exploits made that inevitable so NQ has adopted a policy of not rocking the boat toio much on such exploits as they knew they would be wiping pre-release anyway. And no, the exploits and their fallout were never "the" reason for the coming wipe, just a factor that played into that. In general, and not against anyone specifically, I find it interesting how some will just plain ignore any arguments or reasoning that goes against their opinion and pretend myself and those who agree with me are just on a position of "wanting to win the argument". This is not about winning anything and once more, if NQ does not wipe, while I will maintain that would be a mistake in the long run, then so be it.
  10. don't believe the hype.. Unless you plan to overclock and/or customize, something like an ASUS Prime X570-P will be fine..
  11. The wipe wil not be about a "fair start". I also would not expect the wipe to be a complete one, those who currently have access will keep their constructs as blueprints and their talent points which will be returned to the pool. The moment NQ started charging money for access they lost the option for a full wipe
  12. Do you really think that what you say is "needed" is in game now? Do you realize it is extremely likely NQ will be "releasing" this game this year? Which player base will be providing what you describe? How are you ignoring the massive amount of junk and what will be the massive number of abandoned constructs once beta keys expire. The reason I expect NQ will wipe and then offer a head start of something like 4 weeks is _exactly_ for the reasons you mention and on top of that, if you think that the existing player base is going to be inclusive towards the many new players or that new players seek out existing groups just like that is a pipe dream. Unless NQ does some serious work to enable that, it will not happen. And they do not have time to do any of that as they will have their hands full setting up the very basic game for release they have now. Once Athena is in, DU is pretty much what it will be at release, some minor changes, polish and balance maybe, but that's it. NQ will need the numbers I mentioned just to pay the bills and be able to keep working on the game, in order to get those players, it is my belief that a wipe will be required to allow the stage to be set and to also allow some of the changes I expect to become effective. Changes like limiting how high you can stack static cores, elimination of many random voxel strips up in the skies around markets. AGG constructs hovering with no need for resources, inevitable actually functional changes to markets as what they implemented in Panacea is already showing to not be effective at all (as predicted). What you say would make sense if the game had another 1-2 years to mature and see the trash filter out maybe, but that is not going to happen. It is very obvious NQ is gearing up for a release end of this year and it will need to be a game able to take on tens of thousands of new players which for a number of reasons simply is not going to be viable as-is. Question one is whether the numbers NQ needs will show up, which I doubt, but if they do, I believe a wipe will be the best possible way to accommodate that. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions and if I am wrong then.. I am wrong. But I do not expect to be wrong in this, we'll know in 8-9 months.
  13. A shitstorm where? the wipe will happen well before the actual release, the "shitstorm" you seem to expect I do not see coming as some will just move on, most will just start over and a handful will be going reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and generally then just also start over. I'm going to leave it at what I said before, we'll revisit this end of the year..
  14. Whatever logical or reasonabel arguments would be presented to you, you wil always either spin or, rip them out of context them to suit your opinion or just plain ignore them if you can't. There is no point in arguing with you so no, I won't. As I've said before, we will know who is right in a few months time..
  15. For me, I'd need to see NQ move from making choices based on their (lack of) funding and present a plan based around what the game is supposed to be and how it can get there. If that becomes clear and is convincing and then NQ asks for X amount to make that happen, it's still a gamble but I'd likely go with it if what they present both makes sense and aligns with my ideas, as was the case during Kickstarter. If they stick with their current line, where every choice and decision is dictated by staying within operating budget and has little to no relevance to the future and progress of the game then no, I would not. Saying "the companny is not in any danger" is IMO the wrong message. What I'd like to hear is "the game is on track towards these goals and we are confident we can get there". But that is not what we're hearing.
  16. The point many here keep missing is that what _we_ think or feel about any of this is _not relevant_. Subjective personal truths and opinion really do not count. Especially for backers, many are a burden for NQ. Our money has been spent years ago and a lot of us will not need to pay a cent for many months, if not years, to come. Our beta key alts will mostly vanish once we will need to start paying for them, or we will spread our DAC across these alts. I have three backer accounts with about 5 years of DAC between them.. And there is many in the same situation. So, from NQ's perspective, I am a low value customer, if not worthless. NQ will need to attract tens of thousands of new players who will pay a subscription every month and maintain that level of subs to keep the lights on. Their best chance of making that happen is to offer a clean slate and a fresh start, even when existing players still have a massive lead in experience and talent points. Offering the clean world, combined with a possible early start prior to official launch, will be the best option form a business perspective. And the visionary has left the building with the business choices currently setting the tone at NQ. And with relation to the automatic abandonment, that will be a problem closer to release. A busted economy as it is broken by surplus of materials and many of the few remaining players sitting on piles upon piles of "stuff" will not help the game mature and grow, it wil only slow it down and probably cause it to stagnate So yes, a wipe is, in what I believe to be a very reasonable educated guess as well as from an objective point of view, both inevitable and certain to happen. You can stick to your opinions, but I am pretty sure that when it comes around to it, I will be right here.
  17. Would be interesting to see the outcome.. As for myself? I probably would
  18. No, abandonment will not resolve the many claimed tiles by inactive accounts on Sanctuary and not resolving that would present additional cost and server requirements through the need for a second sanctuary moon, which becomes rather silly IMO in the same solar system. Also while yes, while your stuff would be safe on Sanctuary, a wipe, and the reasonable arguments for it,. would really be the only exception to that "rule". In the end, we can argue this until the cows come home but it's for NQ to make the call and I believe they have already made their decision to wipe some time ago and will do so in the timeline I expect to see. You and others think differently and that's fine.. We will know in a few months who is/was/will be correct in their assumption. As said, I expect and prefer a wipe as I feel it will be beneficial to the game long term but can go with whatever NQ decided to do.
  19. It will remove all the junk and the stuff left in the game once the beta keys expire. As such a wipe will not erase talent point, only return them to the pool, there really is no "level playing field" and frankly that is not an argument anyone who understands why the wipe will happen ever uses as it is not part of the discussion in that regard. It is something a few like yourself keep injecting as you either do not understand the argument or choose to be blind to it. There would not be a full wipe like we had prior to beta. The world would be reset, constructs removed, quanta reset and talent points returned to the pool. That would leave the advantage for those who participated in beta to be massive and present a great opportunity to rebuild much more efficiently and structural than before. There is no "levelling the playing field" or "catching up" here as getting to a decent level talent wise is so fast it's mostly irrelevant. It's mostly about trash collection and a big clean-up. In the end if NQ were to not wipe, they would have come out and said so. Instead, they have very directly maintained that the option remains on the table and that they continue to have "discussions" about it. Knowing NQ-lingo that really only can imply that it's not if, but mostly when which is "being discussed" and frankly, I am very certain that it has been decided some time ago in combination with a set date for release towards the end of this year. There is no reason to withhold information on this if no wipe is planned, there is a strong argument to be made for keeping it indoors when the wipe is coming. Personally, I could live with them going either way, but I strongly believe they will wipe as it will serve the game better in the end and in the long run. Combined with the very minimal exposure for the game and the small currently existing subscribed player base, a wipe has far more potential benefits than it has drawbacks. It would be a sensible and dare I say justified business decision to wipe at launch.
  20. There is many who left once it became clear the game has been polluted with the fallout of exploits left unhandled, with clear and disrupting bugs and issues that, to be fully resolved, really call for a wipe. Those saying it is not something NQ is considering very clearly have not been paying attention, besides it making perfect sense to do so, let us once more and very clearly take not that yes, there is ONE mention of a "no wipe" situation in a press release from around beta but EVERYTHING ELSE NQ has said about it has both left the option firmly on the table and has never set any conditions for it not to happen. A wipe will make sense in that it will be required to eliminate the remnants of accounts that will leave the game and not return once the game launches, it will also offer an opportunity for NQ to market an option to sell post release subscriptions to those who have a beta key. So far, NQ has very nicely kept up with the timeline towards release I have often talked about. So here's what I expect to come next.. Athena arrives first half of June (late spring as it is announced) The next patch, with mostly polish, fixes and some minor additions to the game will follow first half of September (end of summer) after which NQ will feature freeze. Second half of October NQ will announce release for late fall, which will be first half of December and a full wipe 2-4 weeks before the planned release date. On this wipe, beta keys will be invalidated, those with DAC on their account will be able to participate in the head start following that wipe and on to release while for other players (and probably in general), the option will be offered to buy a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription which will include a staggered entry into the head start period. Just speculative obviously, but I can see this be an entirely possible and viable timeline..
  21. The controls in the game are fine IMO, you can opt to use mouse controls to fly, at least to some degree. If by "quests" you meean PVE content like in most other MMO then that will not happen, it's not a part of the core game design. Better camera controls and 3rd person mode when on foot (you can hit INSERT when flying). Yees, absolutely that should happen but again, not in the core game design so I doubt it will, atr least not any time soon. I'd agree that the flight model is not great still, even after many revisions of the system. Atmospheric flight is very unrealistic, ailerons would be expected to provide drag which in turn would allow you to roll, yet they are actually providing lift and act as wings. You can throw your construct in a roll but it will just keep going straight as there is no actual drag and so, no movement unless you also apply yaw. Flight is very much like driving in the sky in DU. For a HUD, I'd suggest Archaegeo's Orbiital HUD for which support can be found on Discord
  22. 1. No, would not hold my breath.. maybe in a yeear or two if the game is still alive by then. 2. We really know nothing about TW yet (and my guess is, neither does NQ outside of maybe a very high level idea). 3, yes, notgoing to happen for now.
  23. 3090 is overkill and really not going to help you much, if at all. Get a better CPU, the 1xxx ryzen CPUs really is not that great today and has a sub optimal AVX implmentation. x570 motherboard with 5800X CPU, RTX 3070ti or 3080 and at least 32GB of 3200 or 3600 memory will do fine
