yea but gamers are a finicky bunch and dont know what an actuall alpha is but hey for 60 you can get into alpha 2 of fo 120 you can get in at some point in alpha 1. Actually i think 120 is alpha 1 access as soon as it opens

I mean I do agree that yes we should at least show videos and livestreams of the alphas. But I do have a bad gut feeling that many people will quickly judge it regardless of the many disclaimers, that can look bad for potential new players. But that’s just me thinking.

Have to side with you here.  Unfortunately with what NMS did (though they have partially redeemed themselves) and then the mess going on with SC....I can imagine gamers will be brutal with yet another space game and one that is in Alpha.  People in general are very short on patience and understanding and regardless of DU not doing what SC is doing.....it'll more than likely be branded as SC if they lifted NDA for Alpha Footage.

With the roadmap showing PvP not even coming about until next year...I can see some very brutal thoughts against DU that would probably hurt it more than help (not strictly on the lack of PvP alone but just Alpha state in general.  Unfortunately too many games lately have abused their "Alpha" state to where folks are tired of hearing, "It's in Alpha!"  Though DU looks like they're not clowning around like so many other games......I can imagine folks not being willing to hear, "It's still in Alpha".  Then don't even let any kind of delay happen with this new roadmap because folks will immediately paint it as SC though it's nothing alike.

PvPer here, probably one of the future bad guys that will be looking to rob, steal and ransom my way to riches.
 
I walked into Eve's sandbox three years ago with a huge PvE mindset.  "Oh, a MMO SciFi Sandbox spaceship game, let me give that a try."  I stayed in Hi-Sec, ran missions, went on low-sec roams with my corp, but no PvP focus.  Then my corp got Wardecced, and i got caught in my FIRST CRUISER ship and LOST IT.  I was disgusted and immediately logged off and didn't log back in for 3-4 days.  I was devastated that someone would just kill me for no reason... but I also got a huge adrenaline rush from it.  That incident was probably what set me down the PvP path.
 
In Eve, and in DU, when your ship goes BOOM, it doesn't get magically replaced.  There is real in-game loss of assets.  In WoW, and most other MMOs, you die and you just respawn exactly as you were, or minimal penalties.  If it's not something you've experienced before, the loss will probably hit you RIGHT IN THE FEELS.  If, and only if, you can realize that it isn't griefing/trolling/harassing just to shoot at other players, but rather a person vs another person fighting within game-established rules and mechanics that gives you that rush of adrenaline, you might choose to compete rather than play a victim. 
 
Learn the game's mechanics.  Learn the meta-game.  Don't complain about being ganked (gankers love tears), but instead learn how not to get ganked.  You'll be playing the game the way NQ designed it, not how you want it to be.
 
Or don't.  I'll be just as happy to kill you and take your stuff.

I've been watching the forums every so often that i haven't really talked or replied to any thread here. But i tend on changing that. Dual universe caught my eye on kickstarter and was very interested, i haven't backed on kickstarter but i do tend on pledging here very very soon. Im very chill and tend to be open minded, so expect to see me in the threads cracking jokes, giving feedback, or just be outright boring that you'll throw me back in the catacombs of my mom's pantry closet .

I've been watching the forums every so often that i haven't really talked or replied to any thread here. But i tend on changing that. Dual universe caught my eye on kickstarter and was very interested, i haven't backed on kickstarter but i do tend on pledging here very very soon. On the other hand, this would give more power to the smaller players or groups so large, established groups won't be in control over everything. There could also be automated CIWS turrets to counter rammers.

Welcome to posting! Unfortunately you can't back the game right now, though you probably already knew that. The forums right now are extremely active compared to what they were before.
