  1. "I think he's inferring it from the point of view that scripts can be used to gain access to others objects (much like unauthorised access). This can be prevented of course if each object's script is given a private or protected access modifier or something of the like. While the number of gates at the beginning may be minute, in time to come, they will be a lot more: in tens or hundreds. Pax Vobiscum."
  2. "I seem to have exceeded my quota of positive votes for the day. Pity. Nonetheless, thanks a lot for the input. Pax Vobiscum. "
  3. "I don't know why, but this sounds remarkably like the early days of Goonswarm Federation. Pax Vobiscum. "
  4. "Democracy, dear friend, democracy. The choice is yours. Whether it's unicorns (I'm looking at you: Antioch) or flying chimp like crafts or even FrigoPorco's Death Planet/ Shopping mall, you've been given free will. Pax Vobiscum. "
  5. "Exactly! I hope everyone gets to create something unique. Pax Vobiscum. "
  6. "It certainly helps to have more than one mind thinking. I see your points and they make absolute sense. I simply thought sooner or later, players may want something else to interact with. Cybrex point is valid here: the life forms don't need to be advanced or intelligent. Were either of the conditions true, then Captain's point make absolute sense. It may be inevitable that an alien race is included, but, as I noted: this game is still in the early stages of development. There's ample time for that to come later. Pax Vobiscum. "
  7. "You're English is quite good, you have nothing to fear. Back to your question, however, and I quite agree with you. The game is still in the pre-alpha stages, and we're giving the developers a real run for their money. It's hard to believe they aren't six feet under already in the work load we've dished out. The subject of NPCs is important and even more so when the players are intent at getting at each other's throats. The part in your post about invasions by NPC fits with the "Incursion" type of play in another popular game. However, we need to wait to hear from the developers before we start making assumptions -- however splendid they may be. Contact the Community Manager, or if you can, try to get a hold on him during the next Q & A session. Pax Vobiscum. "
  8. "You underestimate the evil of the human mind. Larger corporations are hard to deal with without a deterrent, especially if they are anarchist or war prone. Pax Vobiscum. "
  9. "Battle drones may not be for the weak of wallet...or of mind. Pax Vobiscum. "
  10. "Wormholes naturally do occur too. I don't know yet if the developers will include this in the game soon. It would be interesting to see what role they might play in transportation. Pax Vobiscum."
  11. "Hence the problem with autonomous A.I. drones. A good idea may be to instruct the drones to return to a reload station once their cache is empty. Another drone permanently/ temporarily stationed there would check the inventory of the returning drone and once contact is made/in range(as in the case of wirelessly charged laser weapons), the reload drone does its job. A function tells it to loop on the check or: do {xxx;} while(condition); When the statement, proves true, the reload drone stops and sends a signal to the autonomous one. A receiver function turns to true on reception of the signal/once there is no space to take anymore weapons and it goes on its way. Pax Vobiscum. "
  12. "It's amusing chore, isn't it? Like your mother reminding you to load the 3 dishes at a time into the dishwasher, while a dozen or so guests are waiting for their lunch. Pax Vobiscum. "
  13. "Thankfully, the Rights Duties Management System will take care of that. The only loophole for the espionage would be due to owner error/ trust problems. Other than that, the prospective thief may have to take the ship apart and create a clone piece by piece. While some may have the time for that, the R.D.M.S. would detect the ship as a clone, unless some parts are substituted or altered. A good choice would be for corporations to produce blueprints and sell them at a price. In Eve, blueprints are bought and sold, although you still have to source the appropriate materials and blueprints over there vary in efficiency, durability, and volume. What the developers may do in the long run, is provide a "clamp" like system. Once the product in question is finished and a blueprint made available, the system blocks anyone without the blueprint or anyone that hasn't been given permission from producing or using the product.... Sounds tedious, doesn't it? Well, the last thing we want to see is scamming en masse in Dual Universe, besides it's just an idea. Let EVE remain in its own world. Captain Twerkmotor has advised me to let Dual reign in its own realm. Pax Vobiscum. "
  14. "This is a good idea, but, depending on how quickly I need the gun to fire at a target--not so much. I don't see the use of having a hidden weapon that takes 2 seconds to rotate, find the target, lock on and fire. Again, depending on the number of slots the DPU has, it may be fast enough to save my skin. I hope your idea is possible, though. It would help preserve sleek and clean ship designs -- broken only by the need to defend or attack. Cheers. Pax Vobiscum. "
  15. "Tsk. There's going to be no shortage of ideas.... That's bad for Megacorp business Pax Vobiscum. "
  16. " You just had to spoil the mood, didn't you, now...? Pax Vobiscum. "
  17. " Nerf darts...loading. Pax Vobiscum. "
  18. "I just got my work cut out for me. I'll be heading to your sovereign territory when it's ready! Pax Vobiscum (ironically here). "
  19. "Hilarious! You stole the post and title from my sleep last night. Coincidentally, I was thinking of some nomenclature for vehicles (not just ships), and hasta la vista, someone beat me to it! Overall, I think the classing of vehicles is quite important, not for fun only, but for prospective market reasons. Shouldn't the vehicles also be named based on the size? Typically, Flagships>battleships>battlecruisers>cruisers>destroyers>corvettes/frigates(depending on the size and preference of the manufacturer). It is important to note, that ships might not make a big entrance at the beginning of the game, to be sincere, the only ships we might be mass producing in beta might be marine based crafts. Nonetheless, I find your classifications quite worthy of debate and further thought! Pax Vobiscum. "
  20. "It seems we share near similar tastes in design and aesthetics. Pax Vobiscum. "
  21. "I can literally see a BSG dancing to Michael Jackson's "Bad". Not surprisingly, it is taunting me. Pax Vobiscum."
  22. "Try out a walkie-talkie. It's been proven and tested for years on end. Pax Vobiscum. "
