  1. We have a pretty limited knowledge about mining in this game but i can tell you 3 things. 1. You will be able to mine with your universal starting tool 2. You will not be able to mine with vehicles or automate it 3. There will be a scanning mechanic where you can scout out materials Now since we don't know exactly what skills will exist and how they work i wont cover that. But it's the basic understanding many of us have thus far.

  9. A gigantic single shard universe requires a giantic server cluster that costs to run. The monthly fee is for that as well as the future content they create. There's already plans for expansions and those are free for the players. Meaning you pay the monthly sub and the game will keep running and giving you new content every now and then
  10. Honestly. While Solo means everything will take a longer time for you to achieve and some things will practically be impossible. I for sure think it will be possible for you to fuck off to another corner of the galaxy flying a month straight. And if you were to do so i would seriously doubt anyone would find you or even want to get to where you are within the first year. Even if people were to somehow visit the same planet as you settled on, chances are they wont stay long enough to find you on the planet. If you build underground some may even settle it while never knowing you exist there too. The possibilities are endless but i wouldn't expect you to get ganked that far out. Not on purpose at least.
  11. DarkHorizon had a pretty nice analysis tbh, it's not the first time FullSend shared a political map like this so it sounds reasonable. Either way is there any chance a better quality picture will be uploaded? Where you can actually see some of the smaller names.

    Casino

    I mean you have the tools to do it, i don't think it's necessary to ask for a specific mechanic. Use Lua and building blocks to create your own casino. Thanks to the RDMS that will be you can host one with full safety provided you are legitimate yourself. People would then come use your casino provided you have a reputation and isn't scamming gamblers. This could lead to a lot of fun scenarios completely driven by the players imagination.
  14. I rather not see people paying a bunch of money to up every skill in the game to high level in no time. Everyone who spent weeks on skilling will feel shit and its P2W. Just because there could be a market for it doesn't mean there should be one. People are already able to use DACs to get resources, which is expensive but if you add skills you unlock the ability for people with thick pockets to get an advantage on every level if they want to. Reason I'm fine with DACs is that it enables people to play for free by being good at the game and it's markets. It comes with a drawback which i don't want to see expanded in abusability.
  15. Well i was talking about patroling a whole planet, not what you have TU units on And yes go remote enough and you might be undisturbed for a long time on one
  16. Ofc this doesn't apply to all organisations. I think however that you will end up having to prioritise. Having main bases and a city possibly that you constantly have survelliance in and then the empty lands you patrol more seldom.
  17. It's gonna be a tough task for sure but i doubt you need an org sized one member per tile. I'd imagine a hundred men could if given the neccessary resources (vehicles + fuel) survey the hole planet regularly (once a week or something). It remains to be seen of course, but i am fairly optimistic about it since i've done similar things elsewhere like in Arma 3 RP where we had multiple police patrols covering the map, there were blindspots of course but in general most of the map had eyes moving about and decent response times.
  18. Actually i'd imagine you could use patrols to cover large areas. 1 man per tile sounds like a weird setup, you'd probably make a few groups of 5-10 and give them fast vehicles of any kind. Lets say they patrol the planet every week, it shouldn't be too hard to pass through all 50 000 tiles with this method, every group making their way through a few dozen tiles in one go, i doubt you'd even need to cover every exact tile if you can see adjacent ones as well. Not to mention it might just be to prevent rivals from settling on your planet, harmless individuals who may live underground alone which you'll never find doesn't even have to be counted.

  20. I think you are a smart guy and i will tell you this to prevent you from getting disappointed. Chances for capital ship combat is probably really small to begin with when you take in resources needed to build such ships and the vast space they roam which lowers the chance of engagement. "Killing capital ship combat" sounds really weird in this regard as it doesn't even exist until players are capable of battling with a couple of them. I recommend approaching combat from the perspective of that people will fight with what they can afford to put together, so you might see way more ground combat as well as fighter dogfights than you will ever see bigger ships even flying around. Keep this in mind as IMO it puts things in perspective, especially why it doesn't hurt to have the need for gunners as the ships themselves are most likely a huge accomplishment.
