  1. i hope numbers in new mining  game mechanic are just placeholders. Tax for territories could stay only if player can mine at least 300K liters of T1 ore with average territories and no skills for autominers and milions for the best territories otherwise there would be no reason for future conflicts.

I spent 45 mintues and I can't find something underground.

You have to be extremly unlucky or .... ehm. T1 ore is so common you have to find it without scanner in 10 min with just blind digging. in 45 min i can mine 150 000 L of T1 ore. You really should look at some tutorials before you criticize something.

Things that absolutely must be changed for the game to be successful.

    1. Weapon ranges needs to be reduced to no more than 2.5k. This forces all parties involved to have to actually fight each other in a proper battle.
    2. Weapon damage needs to be reduced by 75%. Right now it frankly doesn't matter what material you build your ship out of, because weapon damage is too high, and chews through everything. It makes building anything other than a layered box ship pointless.
    3. Space safe zone should be permanent and never removed for any reason. This will allow trade and civilization to grow. Players should not be forced into PVP if that's not what they are interested in.
    4. Planets in space safe zone should never have PVP either. For the same reasons as above. Players should not be forced into PVP if that's not what they are interested in. Having a single safe moon, is frankly a stupid idea. Lets put everyone to a moon, force them to deal with lag, over population, etc. Nope...people will legit just leave the game.
    5. Ship and Base shields need to be a thing. So players have proper defense.
    6. Ships moving over 10,000 should not be able to fire weapons.

I agree that things needs to change but with your list of suggestions would PVP rarelly occure and that wouldnt be healthy for the game.

But DU is NOT a survival game, it is an MMO. It is common for some MMO's to have food/drink as a buff of some kind. The Devs have entertained something along those lines as a possible future update, but made it pretty clear that it might not be farm-able or food in the way we are familiar with it.

Something we know for sure is that the Devs will not be implementing a food/water requirement system. Its not something the community can ask for and get, its not part of the MMO genre, and not something they want in their game. The goal is for the primary threat to be other players, not the environment.

You are wrong ... there is MMO in development where players require food to survive .... Life is feudal

Water aspect of this post is mute because as someone said we will be wearing biosuits but I would like to see food in game  .... not necessary to survive but it could significantly improve character performence.

  5. What i would like to see in game is ship to ship voice comunication ... you would need some kind of comunication array for that. It would be usefull for example for contacting incomming unknown ships.

  6. i dont know if anyone suggested it .... i didnt want to read all posts but i think NPC traders should be in game all the time but the price for the ore will adjust to the number of credits in economy per player .... this way once enought credits are in the economy the price of ore will be so low no one will want to sell to NPC. Another situation ... lets say NPC traders will be removed from game after 3 months .... and after that lot more players will join the game and there will be lot of credits missing i think.

  7. I was thinking that probes that we will be sending to planets for stargates building will also provide list of resources available - planetary scan, my proposed module - regional scan would provide knowlage that desired mineral is located in hexagon and after that you would start scaning with personal scaner for the actual position of the mineral you want.

  8. I would like to suggest a module for ships and structures that would be capable of scanning all minerals in hexagon where the module is located. It would be expensive and energy demanding device. It would only show you if mineral is there and not the location. And to make it hard scanning would take 6 hours for example and during the scan all other ships or structures capabilities would be disabled. It could be usefull when you are looking for specific hard to find minerals.

Let me get this straight... You want a super repetitive task to take longer?

i think with the current speed if 10 000 players start to mine planet would be consumed very quickly and there is only 10 000 backers so i imagine there would lot more players when it will come out  maybe 30 000. and if they really want to make it long term game like they want stargates to be build in month or two it necessary to slow it down .

  10. Maybe they will add some kind of delay like when you click to mine some kind of effect will appear and it will take like five seconds to extract the ore same with the building when you click to build a wall and it will take some time to materialize the wall depending on its size.

  11. Again, the bigger the ship, the slower everything moves. If you build a Gargantia Ship, you better have 360 degree gun range or you are doomed. Mount them everywhere or make sure everyone knows this is a hub for something/a center that is used by all. If one group doesn't use the giant ship, it's game over for you

I am sure NQ will make sure this cant happen

  12. Which again only favors 24/7 gamers. Time dependent XP boosts are always unfair to the vast majority of players. Buffs for PvP, mining amount or anything like that is ok. Players who have more time to play still got a huge advantage: they have more money and therefore more resources to spend on ships/bases. No need to give them even more

Looks i wasnt clear .... you dont have to play 24/7 but it takes long in game time to grow high quality food but i dont see why people should not be reworded for time spended gaming? Its like you would say that -  its not fair you mined more ore than me just because you spend more time in a game.

  13. i think that Life is feudal is good example how can food be implemented in a game. If you dont eat you will die in 1-2 hours but it is very easy to find food. Food in Life is feudal is giving you bonus to skill gaining. Depends on food quality and complexity how much bunus will you get. If you eat best possible food you can increase your skill gain speed 5 times but of course making best food takes time and skilled farmer and cook. - That is how i think food should be implemented.... if you take your time and effort you will be reworded.

  14. I'd love to see them focus on the exploration elements more than the building.

No Man's Sky re-hauled... made with voxels!

This game is about rebuilding civilization so i think they will focus on building. Exploring will be part of searching for materials or looking for strategic place for base or enemy positions.

    - carebear catering: there is no need for a newbro to leave highsec. no story arc, no mission, no tutorial - well there are, but most risk averse players decline those because they fear lowsec/null/whs too much.

I think the main reason is that new players are killed even in high sec by some idiots .... they feel like ... they killing me in high sec in low sec it will be even worse no way i am going there..... DU looks like will be different from EVE

  15. I have a suggestion how to make mining little more interesting. I dont know if its possible to implement or if its planed. Here is the idea. When you will be scaning for ore beside usual things it will show you average density of ore your scanner found. More dense ore  is faster your mining is. It would motivate to search actively during mining and not just grab what you can.

  16. I would like to know if it will be possible to board the ship and remove the core and place your own and capture the ship. if yes will be enemy capable to make blueprint out of it? if those things will be possible there should be on option to selfdestruct your ship. Of course there should be a time limit for example 2 minutes to give enemy a chance to capture it.

  17.

But...the damage to the weapon would have to be pretty extensive, otherwise people would run them on Overload all the time and just have them being constantly repaired.

not necessarily ... devs can make repair little bit harder for example ship would have to be turned off or at least you would have to turn off the weapon you want to repair

  18. i am hoping that at least energy based weapons would be capable of overload ... like you have a lot of spare energy so you will overload the weapon. It will take a lot more energy but also it would do a lot more damage but the weapon itself would take damage everytime it fires.
