CATS update: two new organisations joined
 
 
 
Greetings fellow members of the DU Community. In the past few months two new organizations have joined the Confederation of Allied Territorial Sovereignties (C.A.T.S), comprised currently by a total of 24 member organisations (check our page description). Thus, now officialy, the two new member organizations are as follows: Stoa Galactia and Oracle.
 

 

 
We look forward to help both valuable organizations reach their goals as new C.A.T.S members.
With these organizations the scope and posibilities has grown and we can now offer even more diversity to all our members. So we celebrate it and hope to keep growing together into this friendly mature neutral confederation, further aiding in creating a more harmonic and amusing DU community.
CATS, or Confederation of Allied Territorial Sovereignties, is an association, community or society of sovereign and neutral organizations of all kind in Dual Universe.

 
The Confederation Charter is based on mutual respect, trust, equality, support, collaboration and reciprocity among all its members, associated ifor peace, prosperity, harmony and common good. And this, regarding themselves and all of those who, in the DU community, feel resonance with this constructive and friendly approach of peaceful convivence.
C.A.T.S. also is one of the signatory organizations of the Convention of Neutrality and Mutual Improvement (CONAMI), being aswel member organization within the Inter-neutral Assembly (INA).

Celebrating the INA's First Year with 2 New Orgs on Board
      In these past few days the INA celebrates one year of life. We do it being the main, larger, neutral organization in DU, being also the first in its class to establish a clear definition and approach to neutrality. So thank you to each and every one of you, organizations and members, for sharing with us this constructive, peaceful and special approach to the game. Additionally, two new organizations signed the Convention of Neutrality and Mutual Improvement (CONAMI) and joined the Inter-Neutral Assembly (INA) this month: Sente and Oracle. We welcome them and look forward to collaborate all together in this common place, for the common good.   Thank you.   Sincerely, INA Founders     Why the CONAMI is something unique and relevant in DU?   The Convention of Neutrality and Mutual Improvement (CONAMI) was originally created and signed on May 19th, 2018, by 4 neutral organizations of Dual Universe. It is also the foundational charter of the Inter-neutral Assembly (INA), a supra-organization based in the CONAMI principles and articles. The INA is composed currently of more than 20 active organizations (and even more are in a process to join). The CONAMI is unique in Dual Universe, as it is the first convention and document of its kind, formulating clearly a notion of neutrality in the field of Dual Universe organizations, offering also the frame of a friendly and collaborative community, where mutual improvement is also part of the equation, together with neutrality. Indeed, the mere signing  of the CONAMI puts each organization, always sovereign, in a friendly and close relationship with the others, within the Inter-Neutral Assembly (INA). The INA “is a common place and assembly for leaders of neutral organizations (each member, one vote), providing the proper, equalty and friendly enviroment to meet and colaborate together for common goals”. (CONAMI, article 6).   Having signed the CONAMI and becoming a member of the INA, each signatory organization obtains a seal of confidence and goodwill towards the others, since it is understood that they all share the principles of neutrality, common good and mutual support. A wide part of the organizations belonging to the INA are also part of the Mutual Defense Pact (MDP), thus reinforcing the security, independence and military capacity of the main neutral interorganizational network in DU for self-defense. With the CONAMI as its normative frame, the INA has a clear vocation to promote, ease and coordinate actions, ideas and initiatives for the common goal of improvement, growing and development, in all areas (diplomatic, trading, industrial, building, tech, military, media, etc) between affine people. Belonging to the INA does not imply administrative tasks or burden of any kind on the part of the members (leaders), being that the INA has its own staff (its founders) to attend to the server and keep the community page functional and updated. Thus, all members can come directly to the INA when they have any relevant affair to deal with or any topic to propose or vote upon. In my view, I couldn't have been more practical. And I mean every word I say. Because (lets consider only the possibility), if one would start from arbitrary or distorted assumptions about oneself, then the subsequent judgments would be neccesarily arbitrary and distorted. And those wouldn't lead precisely to calm and harmony.
But, please, don't missunderstand me, it's only my view, that is such relative and partial as yours, like when you said -for instance- that my coment was "philosophical mumbo jumbo"... Which, apart from being your own subjetive view on it, is indeed a disqualifying comment (I didn't do that with yours when I wrote). Not very constructive actually, mostly if one wants -as you say-  "to remain calm and in harmony with the world in any circumstance".
However, it has nothing to do with me or my coment. It's just your opinion, each one as valid as any other, from the point of view of who shares it.

I am fairly new to DU, as I just got Alpha access and have only one real test session under my belt. I have been following the game for years, however, intrigued by the possibilities it offers. As I have been thinking more and more about the game and what role I want to play in it, I have come to the realization that there is so much more to build in DU than just ships and bases, and one of the things that DU will let us build is a society, with its own culture and unique characteristics.
 
Many people have already started to build those intangible elements that make up a society or culture. There are religious organizations, political organizations, etc. These are things that have a structure you can't see, and yet are just as important to a society as cities and space ships. We all know this game will force us to cooperate, and these kinds of "social constructs" will provide a way to do this.
 
What I want to build is similar, but different in some ways. It will be an organization dedicated to not politics or religion, but to philosophy. I am a practicing Stoic (stoicism is a branch of hellenistic philosophy, originating in Athens 300 B.C), and as such have a strong interest in philosophy, especially Stoicism. Stoicism is a philosophy whose adherents believe that nothing is within their control except their own actions and reactions, and that such actions and reactions should be carried out with courage, wisdom, temperance, and justice. Stoics also believe that all things are connected, especially all people, and therefore all people should be treated well. Lastly, Stoicism teaches that to live a good life, you must accept what is not in your control and strive to live virtuously regardless of external circumstances or events.
 
In ancient times, philosophers would have physical schools of philosophy to teach their philosophy of life to students. With the rise of Christianity in the Roman Empire, those schools became obsolete as the Church dictated how people should live instead.
 
I want to bring the school of Stoic philosophy into DU.
 
This is how I want to do this: 
 
First of all, I am not a philosopher, but a student of philosophy, therefore I will defer to the ancient and modern Stoic philosophers to do the actual teaching. Otherwise, I want to build a mecca of philosophy in the DU world. It will be a non-religious temple dedicated to philosophy, if that makes sense. This place will have monuments to the great philosophers as well as resources for those wanting to learn. I imagine screens lit up with stoic wisdom everywhere you turn and some amazing architecture to make the place a tourist destination. It will become a cultural phenomenon and touchstone, even help define the culture inside DU just as the schools of philosophy defined the culture of Ancient Rome. At worst it will be a spectacle that travelers will come to see, and at best it will help spread wisdom throughout the DU population.
 
In order to build such a structure, I will need help. I will need miners, architects, builders, ship builders, and more. I will need people to help flesh out this vision, too. If anyone is interested in joining me on this venture, or joining an organization dedicated to philosophy and stoicism, please respond. I haven't created the org yet, but I will as soon as I see that there is enough interest.

A wide part of the organizations belonging to the Inter-neutral Assembly is also part of the Mutual Defense Pact (MDP), thus reinforcing the security, independence and military capacity of the main neutral interorganizational network in DU. This pact also constitutes a serious deterrence before any possible threat. Through the MDP points are established officially the details about the way in how the members would give support (militarily, material, economic, etc) to each one in case of attack. In this system are also planned regular training exercises and maneuvers,  as well as a permanent military unit, to ensure an optimum operative capacity of the -official already- INA combined force, as a result of this MDP.
 

 
The Inter-neutral Assembly (INA) is a common place and assembly for leaders of neutral organizations (each member, one vote), providing the proper, equalty and friendly enviroment to meet and colaborate together for common goals. Any type of neutral organization can become member through its leader, once signed the Convention of Neutrality and Mutual Improvement (CONAMI), which is also the charter of the INA.
The INA has a clear vocation to promote, ease and coordinate actions, ideas and initiatives for the common goal of improvement, growing and development, in all areas (diplomatic, trading, industrial, building, tech, military, media, etc) between affine people. Dear Community Members,
 
As some of the Novaquark recent moderation and sanction actions haven’t been clearly understood by some, here are some explanations and clarifications. We are aware that members from “Dark Star Imperium” (DSI) and “New Genesis” think that the decisions taken by Novaquark have been unfair and/or feel like a punishment. It’s not a punishment and we limited the inconvenience to the minimum possible by just resetting the member list of the Organization. This has been done to remove all ghost accounts and make the involved Organizations restart on a healthier basis.
 
We also made sure that at least one person in each of the involved Organizations can re-invite real members in the Organization:
- CN_Firestorm for “Dark Star Imperium”
- Chipfromearth/SpaceKitty for “New Genesis” (until the end of TMA’s ban)
 
You are more than welcome to contact them to join theses Orgs again if you wish to do so.
Keeping in mind that besides the cleaning of ghost accounts, nothing else has been removed. All community work/content related to these Organizations have been left untouched. We are also going to send an email to all ex-members to inform about the member list reset and offer them to join their former organization again.
 
Regarding the ban of the leaders of these Organizations:

We understand that seeing your leader banned might be frustrating. However, we want to make it clear that being at the head of a big Org does not give a free pass on toxic behavior and/or bad practices that could damage the Community as a whole. Being passionate, being young, creating quality content is no free pass for such things either. That’s why all the permanent bans decided recently are final. We are not giving such heavy sanctions with a light heart or on a whim. In more than four years, the number of community members who have been banned permanently from the community can still be counted on the fingers of one hand. We think it speaks volume... Some recent rumors say that the bans may be reversed or canceled. There is no ground to such rumor. It’s just disinformation. The fact that a banned member will “not tolerate that” has no weight either. It’s the Novaquark team’s call and the Novaquark team alone.
 
Now, we want to give a fair warning to anyone wanting to challenge Novaquark’s decisions openly, directly or indirectly. If a community member has been permanently banned from the Community, he’s excluded from the game, which means he shouldn’t be in any Organization anymore. Reinviting or keeping a community member banned permanently could have serious consequences (such as Organization disbanding but not limited to that, as this could trigger other sanctions for those actively supporting banned members).

Now to address some specific questions/rumors:

We exceptionally give some details to the Community to show that we are not banning randomly or without a serious reason. We do it only because some banned members try to take advantage of the confidentiality policy to enforce their own narrative and play the victim, and attempt to misinform other players. Don’t expect the Novaquark team to give anymore information on this case or the possible future ones.
 
“Banning Sakej99 was a mistake. He’s a different person from FullSend/Lime”.
The Novaquark team is aware that Sakej99 and FullSend/Lime are different persons. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the permanent ban affects FullSend/Lime will also affect accounts he may have access to (by account sharing, which is forbidden in our EULA). This is one of the main reasons why we are so serious about forbidding account sharing. If someone sanctioned got access to your account, the sanction can be extended to the said account even if you haven’t done anything wrong.
 
“FullSend/Lime has been unfairly banned, with no prior warning.”
First, for the infraction this community member has committed, there will never be a warning as it was obviously utterly wrong: if a false report is sent to the Customer Support in an attempt to make another community member banned, the one getting the ban is the one who sent the false report. And in this case, indeed, there is no prior warning.

Second, FullSend/Lime is probably the person in the community who would deserve multiple permanent bans (if it was possible), due to previous infractions in addition to the most recent one. Playing the card “no prior warning” is just complete dishonesty and denial of assuming the consequences of his actions during the past couple of years. Here is a short list of the infractions he has done in the past:
- Asking members of one of his former organization to give login and password of their accounts to him.
- Using accounts of other players.
- Creating ghost accounts.
- Using a loophole in the organization management system on the Community Portal in an attempt to sabotage/destroy an organization by using the account of another player.
- Participating in a doxxing attempt.
- Always denying the facts or trying to minimize them, to the point of reaching self-absolving, to avoid dealing with the consequences (a practice reiterated with his last infraction).
Due to the history of this community member, there was no reason for “prior warning” with his last infraction. He has been warned too many times already. Mistakes are not erased just because it happened “long ago”.
 
By default, Organisations where FullSend was the founder have their ownership transmitted to the oldest member with the ability to create an organization, which gave the following results:
- CN_Firestorm becomes the new owner of “Dual Insider”.
- Gravetender becomes the new owner of “Project Azimuth”.
If you are a member of one of these organisations and you want to discuss these changes, please contact the new owner of the Organization.
 
(About DSI) “There has been a total wipe of the parties to kill the conflict”     
Wrong. If that was the case, we would have dismantled “DSI” directly and ban both DSI leaders, which would have included CN_Firestorm. You can assume that if it’s not the case, this is precisely because there is a difference between CN_Firestorm and Primarch. This sanction wasn’t against DSI. The sanction was against Primarch.
 
Some of the banned members may say “They will be back”.
It’s up to them. However, if we catch them, they will be banned without further notice.

Just hopping to say hi to the community and introduce myself since I've just joined the game. I come from Thailand and I live in United states right now. I'm a fan of strategy game and space theme game. I am looking for economic/crafting focus game-play and this game seems to have a good potential in those aspects!

K so if I want to be considered a real human being I need to say stuff here, well I am up for the challenge, I am a 16 years old nerd from a far away country, I learn Physics as my major and hope to be an engineer 1 day, eh that it I guess, never really tried poetry tbh. 

Dear community members,
 
A few weeks ago, we took a stance regarding “out of the game”/IRL-related practices to discredit, threaten or shame publicly another Community Member (even if the involved person is guilty of several infractions) that could be an opponent in-game.
 
As the DSI (Dark Star Imperium) / TSU (Trinary Star Union)  / UEE (United Earth Empire) case blew out of proportion during January, we investigated.
 
We are really serious about differentiating real life from the game itself. Unfortunately some didn’t take our stance seriously. We gave them a chance to come clean in a private discussion and restart on an healthier basis. They didn’t take the opportunity for what it was: a last chance.
As they preferred “playing dumb” with Novaquark staff, we can’t have any trust that they won’t continue. Therefore we have decided to ban permanently those Community Members for various reasons (all not being banned for the same reason(s)):
Not being honest towards Novaquark staff. Making and encouraging ghost accounts. Abusive recruitment practices. Practising real life harassment and/or threatening another player. Making false report to Novaquark’s Customer Support in an attempt to make ban someone they dislike. Spreading real life information without the involved person’s consent, aka Doxxing.  
(strong reminder: even if a person gives you real life information about him/her, it’s not okay to share these information with ANYONE else without his/her consent. You can’t predict how the other person(s) will use this information and if he/she/they won’t share it again. If some trouble occurs following this sharing, you can be held legally responsible).
 
This might seem an extreme sanction but this shows how serious we are when we say we are not going to let toxic attitude and practices spread in the Community. Our goal to build a healthy and friendly community isn’t just a figure of speech. Anyone caught to spread or encourage any toxic behavior will be removed from the Community as it will be considered as damaging the Community and negating Novaquark staff efforts (without saying that it’s time consuming and a waste of our resources).
 
Saying it’s a long time grudge coming from before the arrival in the Dual Universe community is absolutely not a valid excuse. If someone has a personal grudge with another community member, he/she should either:
Leave it at the doorstep and/or settle it in private and peacefully with no one else involved. Contact directly (and only) Novaquark staff if the issue persists.
The moment someone uses the Dual Universe community as a tool for IRL revenge, he/she is not welcome anymore. We’re all here to have fun. It should always stay that way.
 
Therefore, the following Community Members have been permanently banned from the Community:
Lime / Fullsend / mmtheboss / Sakej99 [DSI] Primarch Zelevas / TharisUEE Melkor_Morgoth
  In addition the DSI Organization member list has been reset, and the Novaquark Team has appointed CN_Firestorm as the new owner of the Organization, should he accept to take a fresh start on a healthy basis.
 
We also give a warning to all those who were indirectly involved (with the evidence we found) but not actively participating in the recent community troubles. Next time, there won’t be any new warning. If you become involved against your will in some shady real life activities, you have only two healthy options:
Leaving the group doing such activity immediately. Report it to Novaquark staff.  
If you stay in such group without leaving or reporting it and the group is caught, you take the risk to get the same sanction as those actively involved.
This investigation has taken (or more precisely wasted) a lot of time from Novaquark staff. We really don’t like to intervene in players affairs. However, if there is a chance that such affairs damage the Community by toxic behavior, you can expect Novaquark staff to step in. We hope we won’t have to take the same measures again.

I have been looking for a game to play for awhile that makes me feel like i am part of it, also love making things and happen to stumble upon this and i was hoping if there was someone who has a beta key because this game looks interesting and i really wanna try it out ^^, also looking to play with friends ^^ if anyone is interested.

What do you guys think?

In my humble opinion we will need to have pharmaceutical industry in this DU game the benefits will be huge mostly becose of the PvP-ers will be in a constant need for mediPens and other medicines.
This is just a rushly made example what I made (sorry its nothing cool or fancy but is a representation  in a simple form the benefits of the pharmaceutical Industry in DU game).

And whit all this we will need also Hydroponic systems on a large scale to back up the Pharmaceutical Industry so huge benefits from this branches in the game. I know that out there will be lots of players who will enjoy in the farming aspect of the game and that they will be able to
earn a great amount of Quantas from all this!

Yess You can play in small groups, for instance, for CATS we like to add groups/orgs of atleast 3 players to the confederation to do things together, those orgs remain fully independant. So thats something If you are not sure you can make it alone. But as an independent group i would recommend to contact the Inter-neutral assembly and Tilo as soon as possible
 
But as groups of 3 you can make it, you just need a better plan and a place to operate from that gives you relative safety. think about living in a city like Tortuga (planet based) or Tranquility (space based). that way you have your security fixed. On the other hand, some organizations are in the middle size class and work with teams that allow semi individual play with adding a community to be social with and chat, groups like Bladesin mercenary Corporation or The outfit.
 
And you are right, If you dont like large groups, avoid them. there are loads of smaller groups and loads of organizations supporting them:

Since the beginning of the year, we have witnessed unhealthy behavior from several members in the Community.
As many are relatively new and some older members seem to lose focus of Novaquark's vision for Dual Universe, here is a strong reminder.
 
Dual Universe is a game where there will be wars, power struggles, conflicts, plots, spying, information warfare and betrayals. It's all fine... as long as it stays within the framework of the game.
 
We are aware that a fair amount of people have a hard time to differentiate in-game behavior and real life behavior. While someone can be infamous, merciless and twisted in-game, that doesn't give him/her the right to forget elementary good manners outside of the game. Following the concept "the end justifies the means" will never be a valid reason here.
 
Novaquark expects from each community member to:
1) respect the EULA and forum/Official Discord code of conduct
2) be respectful toward any other member or at least neutral toward the members you don't like outside of the game, whether they are newcomers or veterans.
(neutral means: no free provocation, no real life insults or real life threats, as already mentioned in forum and Discord chart)
3) avoid using any real-life conflict, unhealthy real-life behavior or drama (made on purpose or not) as part of the game (because it's not) as this can escalate in very toxic and unnecessary situations.
4) avoid using any underhanded real life "tricks" to gain an advantage in-game. This includes:
- real life threats or real life harassment with anonymous accounts outside of the game (on Discord or any other online means).
- doxxing, doxxing attempts, or any behavior like gathering real-life information that could lead to doxxing.
- leaking publicly private discussions about real-life topics (especially when showing only carefully selected pieces with the deliberate intention of biasing the facts) without the agreement of all people involved. This also includes Novaquark’s investigations that haven’t been publicly announced and about which you may have been informed through a private channel/room or a private discussion.
- making false accusations, creating NDA leaks or false NDA leaks to accuse someone else with the goal of making them punished or banned from the game.
 
As a company, we want to provide a fun and welcoming experience to our fans and can’t tolerate inappropriate real life behaviors that potentially ruin the gaming experience or worse, lead to real life consequences.
 
If the Novaquark staff gets enough evidence on any of those behaviors, the team may give any sanctions deemed appropriate without further notice.
If you see some community members having inappropriate behavior, please point them toward this forum thread.

Then you're at the right place. We, the Foundation of the Ancestral Flame believe that the universe was created by the "Ancestral Flame". Before it extinguished it left us it's remnants. Our Goal is to find these and with there help we will bring harmony and prosperity to all.
 
So now, a little bit about the org itself:
We are a semi-serious religious organization and are a place for the spiritual type of people. We consider ourself as a casual organization that is for people that prefer something smaller organizations instead of the bigger ones.
Our focus is mostly gonna be trading in the early game so we can establish a ground for our followers (Disciples) to spread into the universe. Roleplay is welcome since it will probably be a big part of the game. The FAF is a neutral organizations that is open for all kinds of people but what we don't want are people that cause trouble within the organization or other organizations. We welcome anyone that thinks we same way we do.
