  1. All present current at 12:02 (5:02 server time) may pass a vote as to the winner. The voting period will be open for the entire minute. All future votes are null and void. I vote Hades.
  2. I wish I could get into ED, but it just never felt alive too me. I imagine an Oculus Rift would make it more than enjoyable though...one can dream ^^
  3. Have to agree, love the prospect of the next couple o' years ^^ When Face of Mankind got the final can (it's been shutdown multiple times, in 2015... for good), I had to find a game that could replace it. Unfortunately, Star Citizen was a way off at that point (and still is!)... however, between SC and DU I will be one happy man. As it stands the development of the two games will keep me busy for time to come. Can't speak for the releases, as neither have occurred of course.
  4. Yikes, good luck with whatever is up.
  5. Have to agree, especially with indie/crowdfunded MMOs. The fact of the matter is, they haven't even started working with the actual servers they plan to work with. Hiccups happen, hopefully now that they got some boosted funding... and a promise of interest in the game (ie.) hopefully more funding from further investors)... hopefully they can kick up the servers they actually hope to work with ^^ Or... perhaps they will wait awhile longer, who knows.
  6. Why can you like your own posts? Never knew you could. Am definitely not going to go like all of my posts... 'cuz... >.>
  7. The worst they would do is lock the account. Which, is just a loss all around. I will voice what others have said though, keep it... never know how it will turn out in the end. The DACs in the gold pack won't go away, you will have them all when you can start up in a few years.
  8. Got some weird results upon looking into "Tongue Doorknobs" Others, I'm afraid... are not safe for the forums :S
  9. When I go home for winter break I will probably load up SC and mess around a bit. Dual Unieverse and SC are really the only games I'm interested in. The only other game I've invested time in is Face of Mankind which shut down awhile ago. Had a good 10+ years into that game. Across versions of course.
  10. Have to agree, I'm glad NQ bypassed the current situation SC is in. If SC didn't take off like it did, they would never have been able to overcome the hurdles that they have... and will hopefully continue to overcome. Definitely glad NQ avoided it from the beginning, rather than cater to graphics over gameplay
  11. Remember, licking doorknobs is illegal on other planets.
  12. I think they are thinking about having a system where you can play for free, but have severe limitations... in order to give you a feel for the game. You can then pay for a DAC with in game credit, or purchase a subscription to get rid of those limitations. However, like with many things... nothing is set in stone. I should note, I expect (if they go down this route) the limitations will be severe.
  13. This is correct, but that isn't really what you stated. I would argue wildlife are NPCs, especially if they give certain resources. I had figured this is what you meant, but I wanted to clarify for others who were not aware of their stance.
  14. Mm this is slightly wrong. They have stated they are open to adding creatures if enough demand is there. I believe it would be something along wildlife, obviously no storylines or quests and all that jazz.
  15. Upon full release of the game, when the game leaves beta into the final version. I imagine the first time you log in after that date is when you will be able to log on and consume a DAC
  16. Of course people will use out of game programs to communicate with people they know. But I am also curious how the in game chat will work If there is VoIP in game, I hope we can toggle it. Sometimes I prefer not hearing random people speaking.
  17. Or Starforge, or DayZ, or even Star Citizen in a sense. (Re-writing an engine piece by piece to suite their needs, doesn't sound very efficient! No matter how rewarding in the end). Hopefully the framework is laid down already for Dual Universe
  18. Hmm, I disagree. People who are purchasing a DAC in order to use it will consume it within 30 seconds to a minute. However, perhaps they could put a small time restriction before the DAC becomes lootable, perhaps something like 5 minutes of logged in game time (in case you disconnect or something). This would prevent people from being ganked at a market terminal that isn't protected for some reason.
  19. Funny how these threads pop up on literally every forums board ever.
  20. Personally, I think the option of DACs being unlootable on purchase, but lootable after they have been traded is the best option. No one likes losing something they've paid hard earned money for. I am a casual player, and as such... I like the casualness of this methodology. Furthermore, I am against the whole lootable currency thing. Once again, I am a casual player... You can steal my cargo, you can steal my ship... but the currency should stay the way it is.
  21. Hmm, I disagree. I think it could be balanced fairly easily. If it's a slow firing, large projectile weapon that takes out major sized ships... then small fighters can blitz around without a care in the world. Furthermore, it would add another level in a takeover of a base
  22. "That being said, while we plan to give the opportunity to get Kickstarter packs for a very limited time" Thought I'd just update with the fact that they are indeed carbon copying the Kickstarter packs and throwing it up on their site. Although I find this terribly disagreeable, I suppose I have to accept it. Appreciate the answer @NQ
  23. @crazy I wouldn't consider these pledges "investments." Also, I wouldn't say it would devalue my pledge any... not sure where you got that idea
