  1. What about different technology tiers being able to extract refine materials to a certain degree? Like all iron is the same iron, but depending on what level of refining you are capable of, how good your technology is, you can refine the same material but to a much better degree than others. That way, everyone has access to most materials from the get-go, but it just may be not even worth the time for large-scale extractment of most resources. Additionally then, if you also add in different types of the same material along with what I said earlier, it would make the resource industry quite diverse. What I'm saying has probably already been thought of, but one thing I would definitely like to iterate with this is give materials at least two properties. Then make it so that if you want a good value with one property, you have to sacrifice another. That way people don't just get the best refining equipment and the best type of each resource and stop there and make that an end goal. Otherwise it'll take people 10 hours to reach that, and then they'll have the perfect equipment for the rest of the game. Make it so that there isn't a "perfect setup" and then it will create a more diverse market with no end goal.
  2. Multicrew and how it's handled is definitely something I'd like to see. Space Engineers, being a sort of space physics simulator, is pretty unforgiving when it comes to players meandering about a ship as it's accelerating. I wonder to what level the physics will affect players on board a ship, if at all; or perhaps the ship itself is a volume inside which players can move about freely as though the ship is static? I hope we find out soon.
  3. I like the feel that the Aether is giving me... I just hope that factions have a signifance when the game releases. But I think I'd like to be a member of the Aether. What rolls are available to me?
  4. I like the sound of mature players, and the vibe of difference I get from you. I am unsure of how the mechanics of the game will work and function, so I'm not sure how significant a faction will be when the alpha releases. However, from what you're saying I feel as though we could still have a neat little cooperative experience together if we are all friends and interested in the game. It could make things really fun, or at least I hope. I'm a mechanical engineering major and although I've never heard of Lua, I have lots of experience with MATLAB which, from what I found on Lua by googling, seems to be a similar program. And I'm certainly interested in joining your faction. Anyway as an engineering major I feel that I could possibly contribute to ship design in some way or aspect. If you are interested you can see the kinds of things I have created for Space Engineers in my workshop in the link below, to get a feel for what I like to do. http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=535665014
  5. I think it would be awesome if kickstarter backers got a special cosmetic item or set of items, that could only be obtained in that way. As the kickstarter is only open for a month, as well as before the game even comes out, it would be awesome years down the road (assuming the game is still popular then) to still have that one unique item that no one else has, that you got for backing the game before it came out. It would be a permanent testament to backers forever.
