Some of the people in this forum have been dumping cash and attention onto this game since before anyone could even download the pre-Alpha client.  Perhaps the "not liking" you are perceiving is frustration from losing a version of the game they did like?  Or they could be a troll.  I would test the latter but my supply of troll food is running low and it's a long walk back to my ship.

Did anyone ask you to be on this forum?  I know I wasn't asked, though I've gotten hints that some may want to ask me to leave.

The average eve player isn't going to want to play DU any time soon of ever for a number of reasons including the culture of the comunity.  What DU needs to do is stop chasing away the people who *do* want to play by trying to get them to play in a different way.  It really is that easy.

I'm in a discord where there are lots of people who used to play DU.  Most don't any more since 0.23.  Many of them were never interested in the quanta-market based game but wanted to mine/build everything themselves and the current changes don't really seem to have them excited.  They should have let people play the way they wanted to play and built features on top to make that easier.

While i understand you frustration, you are not entitled to any monetary compensations what so ever. You joined a kickstarter game which is always a gamble, only do that if you are ready to lose.

As time went on NQ has become more and more untrustworthy so if you have paid for subscriptions that is also entirely on you, no one has forced you to thrown money at NQ.

Personally i bought the KS lie, but have no intention to sub in any form as DU today is not what was promised in the KS, not even close.

this is my opinion  if you like it then that’s good for you but I think this is the lazy solution  at least add real asteroids belts you can mine when ever you wish and don’t  require a scanner that costs millions two find them two may be  find nothing and cost me tons of fuel two find nothing planet mining also added a reason two explore planets they could have just made planets regenerate but they chose the easy way out just remove it  so like I sed  I don’t  like it and that’s my opinion  why is it lots of us founders stoped playing and when you go two markets now it’s a ghost town because lots of players don’t like the detection the game has gone in  mining units are garbage as well as the amount you get is crap  let’s make a guess hear I’m going two predict  the game will launch it will be good for a few months within a year the game will get shut down because it was not successful. Because the devs messed their own game up and pushed out the door before it was ready we will see what happens I am watching two sea what hapens  I do want the game two  make it that’s why I’m still hear and have bin since alpha

economic stability, how do you figure they can archive that with people leaving the game?

the servers are not the resource, the players are the resources, NQ needs to gain and retain users badly

There are way to many limitations and most not lore bound but server health bound. in the end this will be the nail on the coffin as in general people who look for sandbox games in space are no fan of limitations.

There is no energy or power supply ingame, so it remains one of the last free places where you can build what ever the f.. you want and totally disregard the "puritans" that want to dictate how a ship should look and act..

Should there be energy management ingame, sure in the form of reactors (not linked but pooled for the entire ship) that makes fuel tanks obsolete, add solar panels, power transfers incl direct sale modules, intake container for extra energy charges, gas (sun/gas giant) intake.
In essence 1 unified system that powers the entire ship and all elements, want more power add more reactors, want to optimize, remove or add better equipment. no need to add 1 million links and all fuel would become energy.

sorry you, Kanamechan - especially since you like the update which I think is cool because very contrary to the majority

BUT -> I dont think it is okey to raise judgements at other players and tell them, with other impressions then yours, to LEAVE DU and play some other shit. Most of us are adults, so please avoid such kindergardenslang. Makes me so aggro.

Pretending that NQ will finish features that are far beyond their reach as of today is equally constructive... 🤷‍♂️

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post about piracy, that's definitely very possible...but it sounded to me like you were explaining a state of balance that exists only in the future and depends on features that aren't even planned.

I don't view that as constructive because release is coming up soon...and players will judge the state of balance as it exists today, not based on x, y, and z feature that may never materialize.

Experience does matter when trying to speculate about the state of the game and its abilities, especially when there's so little information from the studio itself.

This display of time needs to change. It's a ROUNDED value, so sometimes you can add/remove runs without changing the time. Make it stop rounding, preferably client time and date when the run is finished.

I have a lot of stuff that I want to say about this change, but Deckard has straight up said, that if we only say negative things, we will just be ignored. I'm sorry that I do not see any redeeming qualities in this update. Apparently that makes my opinion null and void.

So effectively, two years of beta has provided us with .. cost reduction and capping what players can do.

Normally you'd run the numbers before you start designing something that can accommodate those numbers.  NQ is working in full reverse in this regard.

And this message pretty much tells us NQ is not done yet.. This implementation clearly is still way too liberal for their goals and so they will put on the limiters even tighter in the weeks ahead .

That NQ is comparing their operation to a "private server owned by a friend" just is the icing on the cake and for me really drives home the desperation they feel around keeping their game servers running and the cost this incurs for them.

No NQ, this is not "a private server owned by a friend". This is a commercial enterprise where you charge more than your average private server would cost per account per month to provide less and less freedom and move away further and further from what you set out to build back in 2014.

You were supposed to be building a single shard world where hundreds of thousands (if not "millions") of players can interact, build, fight and have fun "without limitation". It seems you are not able to deliver that from what we're seeing here.

And no, that is not toxic, unconstructive or unfair. It is a realistic observation based on which I form the opinion I am entitled to have and share as feedback. Feel free to show me I'm wrong as so far, I see nothing that even comes close to doing so.

Oh, I agree entirely that NQ is just copying the "top level" of the mechanic and ignores all the underlying ones that feed into it and actually make it functional.

And this one is no different ..

A good example of early feedback on this I found is HERE  and the same applies for this change too.. I did actually post on that several times, with some detailed feedback and suggestions.. which is obviously ignored as NQ may ask for feedback, but does not really care for it as they just ignore it anyway.

The problem with NQ is they dont understand the things that go along with EvE.  For one, there are MANY pve and things for players to do.  So a new player can jump, get some money running missions, buy what they need, and get going.  The other thing is that the amount of destruction EvE has.  It means the markets always moving.  Even PVE players lose their ships to NPCs or other players.  Oh well, its gonna be fun watching release and the immediate drop in player base right after just like "beta" release.

There is no point in this conversation.  NQ is going to do what they want, when they want, under the delusion that they, and they alone, know what is best for the game.

So sit back, wait awhile longer (its been almost 4 years for me), and lets see what happens.

Experience... Game development while interesting, is probably the worst type of job I could imagine from a professional viewpoint. Lousy hours and if you want creative freedom doing indie games there is no job security. Only thing worse would be to slave for a crap company like EA, shudder. And frankly the worst costumers in the world, is probably gamers..

Nope, I am happy where I am (industrial automation/robotics) with stability, good hours, salary and professional costumers.
And if I ever was to make a game in my spare time (as any software developer I have plenty of ideas, and there is still some niche possibilities in VR for games possible to make by a small team), it would be on my terms doing something under the radar until it was proper done. Then release on steam and only to do bug fixes as needed.

But the thing that makes my blood boil with regards to NQ, is all the things and problems that would have been relatively easy to avoid if they just applied a tiny bit of introspection, listen more and used some established dev processes.

And yes, I fully realize that this is armchair develupment and that I don't know what goes on behind closed doors. But after all these years there are patterns that are impossible to ignore. And no matter how you look at it, there is and has always been a big discrepancy between the size of NQ and the rate and quantity of features being put into the game.

No, it's a mirror of the playerbase that passed a selction process. Players who get used to schematics are much more likely to post in this forum compared to players who left the game due to schematics. Simple as that.
